I tried the AirHawk a few years ago and it didn’t work for me plus I did not like the additional ride height. Tried various pressures, but no luck. I’ve never found a comfortable OEM seat and have spent thousands on different aftermarket options. On my 2023 Honda Goldwing DCT Tour, I went down the Wingsoft road and again, I could only handle 90 mins in the seat before I had to get off. I decided to bite the bullet and sent my seat to Russell for their Day Long modification. I now have 3000 miles on this seat and there does not appear to be a limit on how long I’m in the saddle. Highly recommend and great customer service and support. It’s not cheap, but well worth the investment. Good Luck finding your comfortable option.

In our opinion, you’ve made the best decision possible when it comes to comfort-while It is not always the most esthetically pleasing, it is the most comfortable!

I'm really curious, did you send only the seat for reworking or also the passenger's back and maybe also the rider's back?
Will it be possible to see your photos somehow?

I heard you should use very little air with those for best comfort. I use sheepskin on my 2022GW stock seat for longer journeys, gives me easily +100 miles extra until buttsore starts to occur. One benefit with those two options is that you can use them on a picnic table benches if you use them for breaks on your bike trips.

Yes 🙌 thanks for watching and thank you for your support and finally, thank you for your advice.
We will take you up on your advice - wish we had sheepskin too- anything is better than that stock seat!
      Have a great week!

      We feel your pain… literally!
The air hawk doesn’t replace a stock seat, but it sure helps.
Anything is better - maybe Even a masonry block may be more comfortable than that OEM seat…
We really appreciate you reaching out and writing in! Thank you.

Wonderful video. I was wondering how this thing works/help us big guys. Is size LG the correct one? Also, does it shift all over when sitting on it? I own 2020 DCT Tour. Was looking to order one. What would you rate this from 1 - 10 vs. to the price and comfort? Thanks...!!!

    • @MiddleAgeRoadRage
      @MiddleAgeRoadRage  5 месяцев назад +1

Thank you for your kind words and thx for asking a question- We’d say we rate an 8 or a 9-
Regarding moving around, you can completely prevent any movement, if you feel
removing your seat and adding the straps that come with the air hawk underneath your seat.
However, we wanted the option to take the air hawks in and out of our trunk when we made stops just to help keep the seats cooler in the hot weather we were traveling in.
If you watch our videos, you might notice that we are larger people ourselves. Yes we did order the large air hawk R pad and we found it to stay pretty much in place except for when we were dismounting-
But again our plan was to keep the straps off for other reasons. The bottom of the pads fabric has a bit of an anti-skid quality about it if you’re putting it on the OEM seat. We of course, can’t speak to using their hawk without a strap if you have an aftermarket leather seat…. Folks may want to experiment on their own and figure that out? Not sure if that is your case?
Again- the key to the air hawk is under inflation. We found that keeping it about just around a quarter inch high or less was best for us.
Lets us know what you decide and what kind of outcome you experience…

Seems like a great idea rather than investing in another seat. Also remember lots of old timers that ran the iron butt swearing by a sheep skin thrown over the seat. This looks definitely less barbaric than random animal hides.

      Random Animal Hides!
Would make a great band name!!
We get the feeling that we are not cut out for iron butt material…even if that material is material is 🐑 sheepskin!!!
