@@mobiousenigma "Damascus" is used interchangeably to refer to both crucible pattern steels and forge weld layered pattern steels these days. Most smiths refer to the crucible version as "True Damascus." Both processes accomplish the same end result, with similar patterned look so they accept that both are "damascus."

you are my favorite channel for knife making this year. It is enjoyable watching the way you work, listening to the voice overs, and quality camera work capturing the things we like to see. The other established channels just have more $$$ to spend on equipment and more time to finish projects on top of decades of experience. Your blades are comparable thanks to all your love, effort, and attention to detail that has progressively gotten better looking at your last few videos. Watching a western bladesmith master make a Katana from backyard refined iron sand, making the scabbard and handle from the same rare woods, and making the best Hamon does not feel as enjoyable as watching you. I know the master is possibly going to do it 100% authentic or 99% without breaking tradition, but with you its fun to see how you do the best with what you have and still exceed even your own expectations and acquired new experience to make a better Enma in 2024.

Notches in the tang, hard wood and good epoxy. Just about as good as rivets but without the risk of wood cracking or touching cold metal.

The most entertaining content on RUclips and I never watched knife videos before! You got me into it!
Also Can you show how you package the knives to present to the client? I would love to see that!

Thanks for the super!!! I appreciate your kind words :) For the packaging, I just use professional padded knife bags to encase the blades and ship them with a bottle of oil. Maybe I can show it in my next video!

It did, indeed seeing this pattern come to life was amazing. I've seen many knife and sword making, each has their own process, but the blade result in this one was incredible. Kudos!
