I have been looping your Planxty Irwin for quite more than an hour. I am listening even now as I write.
My ear is so thoroughly accustomed to O'Carolan and so much else of traditional Irish music that survived Cromwell as popularized in its exuberant renaissance beginning in the late 1950s by such as Christy Moor, Dónonal Lunny, PJ Curtis, Arty McGlynn, Nollaig Casey, Alec Finn, Paddy Moloney, Seán Potts, Matt Molloy, among other legends in their own time.
And now, after an hour and more of your Planxty Irwin, a dawning emerges of what you have done. I believe you hear what O'Carolan heard in his own time on his harp. I believe you hear what the Irwin household heard as this genius of melody - unique, sublime, festive, melancholy, elegant - traveled amongst the households of his many patrons.
Indeed, such is what you and Anton have illuminated for us in your understanding of the Baroque.

Beautiful performance 🥰 O'Carolan started my first jorney into irish music over 1 year ago. He wrote so many beautiful tunes and his last one before he died "Farewell to music" is still such a touching piece to me.
La perfección ....
Carolan wrote some superb music will still sits at the centre of Irish music. This is a wonderful rendition of this classic piece. It seems well suited to the baroque guitar, which has its own harp like qualities. I first got into Irish music some fifty years ago, and it still has an impact on me. Thanks for this!
