Great tutorial Chris! It does always seem daunting for beginners to cut back so much, but as we know this is all to create a far better tree in the future.
Plus cuttings too! Imagine how many you could get from them? And all for free!

Thanks Gavin 😄 I hope this video helps the right people.
The cuttings from ficus take so easily too. I have to stop taking them. I have so many I don't know what to do with at this point 😂

Great styling on the tree and the video - you do a great job of narrating the actions and explaining why you are doing what you're doing. Nice work!

I really like the trunk and branch structure of this tree. They really don't mind hard pruning these ficus trees. You were lying in the beginning saying it's going to be a five min video😂

Don't be scared. As long as the tree is healthy the tree will recover. Remember to make sure your tree is healthy first and for most 👍🏼

is it ok to keep it outside in full sunlight in the summer, or best to keep it shaded?

Ficus love the sun. So the more sunlight you can give them the better. I keep mine outside all summer until the nights get to around 10/12 degrees, at which point I bring them in at night.
