My youngest and I have been enjoying your videos. It's part of our nighttime ritual. Have you seen Reed the Fishmonger's stuff? He does really good videos on getting the absolute most meat off of different fish. Not Hawaiian reef fish, but a lot of related ones and pelagics.

@@zecollecter8747 it’s a pretty uncomfortable sport 😅 No worries, the apnea carries help my breath hold a lot, hope they help! I did that after a little warmup lap. My best is just over 3 full laps with double 32kg 🤙🏽

Fortunately I don't need to go deep to find fish, because I can't hang out on the botttom forever like you. And polespear means I need to be more actively stalking because I don't have much range. But I'm inspired with the apnea carries. I usually just hold my breath when I'm walking around and trains go past. 15 carriages blows by pretty quick😄. So apnea carries will be a good way to up the intensity. Sounds like you're apnea carry beast! If you have a chest freezer fill up a 5 gallon bucket or a few of the 2 gallon bucket and throw it in the freezer It will take about 2-3days to freeze Then use a chipping hammer to break it up after your dive for the fish
In Thailand I get 10 kilos of ice for a dollar. Sorry I had to rub that in. Our water is not as clear as yours though, at least where I am in the gulf. Man your guys bad day can even be a good day here.
@@vuulah definitely depends on your body type. ventures are great suits but don’t fit me well. so far waihana has been very comfortable and reasonably durable, just a bit more expensive. There are a lot of good suits out there though! I use a 3.5mm open cell

@ that has more to do with your body’s density and we’re all different. I wear 4 lbs on my new 3.5, and 3lbs when it’s a little older. Most of my friends wear 6-10 lbs. Look up how to weight test yourself properly 🤙🏽

That red part of meat on the broomtail is the fin muscle called engawa. It's delicious as sashimi.
