Awh just finished watching Series 4 of your 'Canal Boat Diaries' Robbie.. was gonna watch em over time but ended up binge watching in one go... loved it. What next..? what next I wonder? I've just seen the BBC have a short narrowboat series by Ian Nairn from the the early 70's... Wonder if they'd let you do an update on his trips to see how things have changed... I imagine some major changes and some where the countryside is just as beautiful. I'd defo watch that.. Wishing you well... Crank on...
New series: *YESSSSS!* 🥳🥳🥳 Wouldn't've thought I'd be so interested in canal-boat TV but I've found myself addicted! Fascinating, & relaxing; half hour goes way too fast. I love seeing our countryside & towns, learning history, & even the DIY-! Looking forward to watching the new shows, Thanks! 😊 x
Hi I have always really enjoyed your BBC programmes as they come out and despite following Cruising the Cut my brain forgot to register until this week that you would have a RUclips channel! Anyway I am going to enjoy catching up with them. Thanks for sharing.
😀💕xx hi Robbie, just watched your new series on the telly. Loved it as have the previous. Thought I’d look you up on RUclips and delighted to find this channel!🥰👍
Cleanliness of canals…and the fact that now base plates are needing blacking/2 pack because the water is so much cleaner and oxygen is getting underneath the boats 😮
Love the sweary bit, one of the compulsory features of a "5 minute job". Not sure what the equivalent of throwing spanners at a metal garage door is on a canal boat but it definitely helps to vent some of the frustration!
Great historical insight into events that have happened. It's a good life on a narrow boat not an easy one but a life where you have to adapt to changing circumstances and conditions. Hope you are well Robbie Keep safe warm dry and virus free.
Terrific series I've watched all inc latest no. 4 ...whens 5 ? 4 episodes per series just not enough for me. I don't do social media but checked you out on RUclips and subscribed...every little helps I hope. You seem a real alround nice guy, your presentation is on the money. Very informative and opens up a totally different view of our wonderful countryside. I've never been on any form of inland waterway boats , I'd love to have a sampler. You ever consider taking paying day passenger(s) ? During series 4 you said on conclusion you had some difficult decisions to make, even possibly selling "Naughty Lass" , that would be so sad . Alternatively having to spend a fair bit getting her up to scratch, if the cost is prohibitive I'd happily chip into a crowd fund so you could remain together. I'm currently at a junction in life , looked at "vanlife" or pos longboat to finish my days in life and get aound UK having travelled all around the World. Well I hope your journey in life is a happy and rewarding one Robbie I feel you deserve that , take care and thanks
Looking forward very much to the New Series! Thanks for the nod about UKTV. Had two very good canal holidays, even managed to drive the narrowboat over quite a long distance. Loved it. Take care ! ♥♥♥
Oh My Dear Lord, the date for Series 4 AND you are about to film Series 5 ... such great news (and i'm now less than 1 year from being on the water myself)
Hi Robbie. Just got back from cruising on our narrowboat and started to watch your new series. It brings back fond memories of when we bought her in Braunston and did your whole planned trip in reverse. Great series, thanks. Cheers Les and Anne on Glendyne
Hey, Robbie....look at you getting an article published in the radio Times!! That means you're practically famous ....!!! Superstardom beckons - I can feel it ......!
Keep on keepin on dear Robbie, dont become jaded or blase, 'cos you'l be in the ground someday. Cor, what was that? Love you fella, brilliant stuff as ever.
Loved the TV series Canal Boat Diary have followed this one and binged watched previous ones, shame it's ended. Now watching your RUclips videos are amazing. Love canal boats and walking along the footpaths calming. The barges look so warm and welcoming. Your recordings are so natural, and the scenery beautiful, glad to see you went to Foxton Locks. Hope you continue to make further TV programs and RUclipss. Amazing honest filming👍👍👏👏👏
Looking forward to series 4 Robbie especially the bit on the Chezzy Canal,as we were walking at Clayworth the day you sped thro- and fingers crossed for getting series 5 in the can- Good luck
That was a very intersting vlog Robbie. enjoyed it a lot. Different type of format but it works. The repair portions were very interesting and highlight what its like living on a boat. Thanks for posting.
Hi Robbie , just been watching your new series on bbc4. Reallly enjoyed seeing you and the Naughty Lass again. You did have various problems but you managed to fix them, I am sorry to hear of your relationship problems but as you said you just have to keep going forward. Well done to you on another great programme, looking forward to the next one, take care, Margaret.
Really enjoyed that Robbie....loved the first shot👍....Have bought Choons , track 8 on repeat 🥰......enjoyed your article in Waterways world too. Keep doing what yer doing and stay safe and well.😊
@@RobbieCumming ......ah ha , I thought I recognised the name and his boat name, the author of The Liveaboard guide and The Narrowboat guide.😊👍.....man of many talents, really good and informative books.....as are your vlogs. 😊
It's not often people admit to a horrific holiday, but that Greek holiday WAS horrific! A beach holiday in a place like that doesn't strike me as something that would suit you at all!
As an Irish man, I would NEVER go into a so-called "Irish Pub" abroad (with the exception of Murphy's Bar in Nerja!). A factory close to me makes "Irish Pub" interiors for export! You buy the whole sorry thing in four crates! Be it known that you can't export the hum of a happy crowd or the buzz of traditional music, in a shipping crate!
In the States, there is putty and fabric made for patching automotive mufflers... That might work for your chimney, assuming you can't find anything specific to the purpose, and can get the putty on the wrong side of the Atlantic. :0)
Gosh, theft of catalytic converters, that's a new one! Do they jack the vehicle up? I guess they must do. And wow, that Malia looks the place to get away from it all! Looking forward to the new telly series.
I watched series 4 of Canal Boat Diaries last week - brilliant but not enough. Robbie, tell the BBC we need more than four episodes. Whatever you decide to do in the future I hope it makes you immensely happy. It made me sad when you spoke of your relationship breaking up and spending Christmas on the boat on your own!! Anyway, keep filming and posting - love it!!
Thanks Debbie I think I would like to do 6 episodes. But it is up to the BBC I can’t even ask as it’s my show (biased much!!). I didn’t spend Christmas on the boat on my own if that makes you feel better!
Beautiful weather today so my friend and I are heading to the little cafe at Hatton Locks in Warwickshire. The food is amazing!! Unfortunately they don't sell beer to go with my ploughman's lunch but there is a pub nearby. Not exactly pub of the week but you should check it out.
Just stumbled across your RUclips page. Pleased to see apparently there will be a new series - I thought the Beeb had stopped commissioning new series on BBC4 to save money/prop up BBC3. Just been reading LTC Rolt's Narrowboat trip in the late 30's/early 40's - be interesting if you could do a series retracing his route and showing how much has changed.
Glad it's not just me who makes air blue Doing DIY 😂. So I take it the B B C now have virtual exclusive so no RUclips....😢?. Have you laid off the crank it crew for a bit then. Well the only way is up and why not just keep smiling😊
Hi. Been following your fantastic journeys on BBC 4. Really enjoy it. Have a question on the last video. Did the Naughty Lass suffer much paint damage from the ice you went through and also on the show before the engine suffered an oil pressure gauge leak. Was it easy to get fixed?
Hi Robbie, we love your series and really hope you do more. You went to Pocklington Canal, can you tell me where that is? Wishing you the best of luck with everything you do. We think you are great.
Ur choons, 1 and 2 are amazing., Waiting for album 3 n 4. As a budding guitarist, u being more advanced than me, have u thought of posting guitar tab. Keep crancking it 👍
Thanks Howard no I don’t have time to do that maybe someone else will one day! Here’s the next one for you distrokid.com/hyperfollow/robbiecumming/choons-vol-3
I heard the “Rocky” theme in my head while you were working out💪🏻 And can I ask you? Are these segments ones that didn’t make the edit for series 4 of CBD ?
Ha ha excellent! No they were all filmed afterwards. I could make a video with shots that were cut out from series four but it would not be fun to edit 🙈
Was the repair you needed in Nottingham not worth telling us about. As the next episode you were in Loughborough. Love the series it was over far too soon.
I thought it was worth telling you about it but so much gets cut out by editor/producer it’s out of my hands. However i will make a video soon with the footage i have
@@RobbieCumming such a shame as it made us thought we had missed an episode. Editors/ producers are so not with the viewers all the time these days. If they had made 5 episodes instead of 4 then they would have not left us worrying when you arrived in Nottingham. Can’t wait to see your next video.
Actually, I really enjoyed that a lot. Sort of a day in the life kind of content. Bum karma, when you weren't worried about someone stealing your phone while filming, and then some dick head steals your catalytic converter! Well done on the plumbing DIY, and looking forward to the new season of canal cruising!
A proper day in the life of a TV / RUclips star. I may be able to send you a link to Musoria Drumeo Pianote singeo guitario online lessons. They are excellent. Interested ? Apparently i can send a link which gives full access to everything for a month. I only use the piano bit.
Watched All the Series recently...one of the best programmes I have seen for a long time....thankyou 😁
Just seen series 4 now available, brilliant!! 👍

Hi Robie. Unmissable series love the canal views and comments. Quickest half hour on TV.
Great new show Robbie, the episode (tues 2nd) where the canal was to shallow because of water shortage
do they ever dredge those canals?
Rob. 😎👍

I watched the first in the New series this evening and it was very fact packed and enjoyable. Well done Robbie.
Nice one Robbie - funny how your boat DIY goes the same way as my boat boat DIY 😂

Don't know if this is a new experiment or just a stop gap, but I enjoyed that as a bit of a diary montage format.
