      They certainly don’t, hence a WiFi extender, rather than a WiFi booster 🤣

    • @HooverLux

      Yes, that’s what someone else told me too. But now we’ve changed providers and they’ve given us 2 good WiFi boosters and now no issues at all thankfully.

  • @denbighhussar
    @denbighhussar 6 лет назад +3

    I thought the reason these extender kits always say plug into a socket, rather than an extension lead, is that they work off the house's ring main. The 2 unit's aren't communicating with each other via Wifi. Perhaps they would work better if you didn't have the base unit into an extension lead. Do you have a spare socket around the corner to test it? BT also do a similar Wifi version which works in the same way but the 'satellite' units then send out the final signal via Wifi.BT also do a base unit with a socket built in, so yu don't have to give up a wall socket.

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  6 лет назад

      I didn’t realise that, but I’ve had no issues with it being in the extension socket?

  • @ghostygaming32

    You need to move the Main powerline to a main plug sockets, that why flashing Orange & red.

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  6 лет назад

      ghostygaming That is true, but unfortunately I couldn’t give it a dedicated main socket, but, still it works ok and I’ve no major issues. I’ve since got a signal booster as that was what I wanted from BT and not this product.

      I recently tried this again as we’ve just had Sky Ultra Fast installed, but we seemed to be having trouble with the wifi boosters connecting to the laptop upstairs, so I dug out this and tried to use it, it didn’t work, absolutely would not connect to the laptop via the Ethernet at all, absolutely rubbish.
