Brian you are incredibly talented it would be great if you could get Noel onboard to have a chit chat on the meaning he had behind the songs to marry the brilliant artwork vision you had on the records
It's incredible how I can feel the same exactly emotions that I felt those days when I first had my hands on the CDs, everytime I watch those covers, even 2 decades later . You did an amazing job!
The large poster at 5:56 I ordered from the UK and had it shipped to the States back in the day. Stand By Me is my fave song ever and I have always loved all the microdot artwork this one especially. It hung on my bedroom wall as a teenager for years until I moved out and started my family with my wife who passed from covid last year. She always stood by me love you Terra.
So many stories in each microdot sleeve. I've always been so captivated by them and these videos prove the genius behind them all. Brilliant as always, Brian.
I remember buying my friend the Stand By Me sheet music/guitar tab with that artwork as a christmas (1997) gift, from Afflecks Palace I think. Probably a collector's item now.
Can't wait to come and see this store mate looks absolutely amazing only wish it was a bit easier to get to haha 4 hours on a train from North Wales apparently
These covers are firmly fixed in my memory from my youth where many years devoted to listening and obsessing over a band that meant so much. Thank you Brian. These videos explaining the artwork are fantastic!
Skived school to get this single back in the day and for 25 years I've convinced myself that the man on the cover was Ringo Starr 😂😂. Thanks for the great content as always Brian, these little nuggets of gold mean a lot to people. Also you're a bloody good story teller too! Will definitely be having a nosey on the microdot site! Stick in Brian!
Stand By Me is my favourite Oasis song next to Morning Glory, the single cover with the middle aged couple perfectly embodies the spirit of the song 💖 It makes me happy looking at them 😊 I also like the big wedding pictures. I live in the north west too so I may pay a visit to Kendall!
Another absolute belter mate. Its good to hear the process of the sleeve designs; how they become the art we know and love. Interesting to see the background people involved too...the people pictured, the photographers you employed, the extras, the buildings and sites... Great info. Nice one. Kyle
Fascinating stuff Brian. I always loved the Oasis artwork in the 90's; I had flyers and all-sorts on my bedroom wall and it's great to watch these videos and get insights into how they came to be. Keep them coming!!
Another briliiant video!! Thanks for being a part of the band's history and creating the best covers for their albums and singles, it was never the same afterwards. I never liked it when they changed the Band logo in the 2000 period. This is history!! This is history, right here right now! This is Microdot, Thanks Brian! Greetings from Santiago, Chile.
Hi Brian. Your videos on the iconic Microdot artwork are brilliant, so informative and interesting. Hopefully a Verve artwork video one day. Fantastic, keep up the wonderful work 🎸🙏🤍
Ah Brian. Love it. It’s like little gaps being filled in an amazing time in my life. I had this huge poster at the end of my bed for ages. Unfortunately all the edges were torn and finally went in the bin. Might have to come along for another one from the shop.
Great Video Brian! I love all the Oasis Singles covers! And the B sides were amazing too! Each cover from Definitely Maybe to Be here now singles was exceptional work! 👌
@@Microdot I just love your sleeves.I think Definetly Maybe and Be Here Now are the best record sleeves i have ever seen. And from the ones you did not design i think the Dig Out Your Soul ones are the best.Altough Noel said they cost a shit load of money.Yours look simple but great. And Liam is right,a band should always be on the cover.I also love the old logo better then the new one.
Absolutely love this channel and all the videos so far, as a massive oasis fan the insight Brian offers behind the scenes with his anecdotes is pure gold!
Thanks as always for taking the time and effort to create these videos - fascinating to hear the stories and facts behind the material you created for Oasis.
Fantastic video again Brian. hopefully make it across to the boutique when up in the lakes in June. I bought a few bits of memorabilia off Craig Gill of the Inspirals after my wife surprised me with one of his oasis tours of Manchester. hope to see you in June Keep up this excellent content pal.
Brilliant again Brian 👍🏻 I agree with another commenter that it would be superb if you could manage to get Noel on board for a chat about the old days on location shoots.
I have been really enjoying these videos. Would it be possible to dial down the volume for the Microdot intro though? Over headphones I bring up the volume to hear you speaking and then the intro kicks in way louder.
Awesome video, great cover shot for a single that took me years / decades before I came round to really liking it. The European and US versions of Be Here Now had different dates on the calendar to signify the different release dates, 21st and 26th respectively, as I remember from back then as I was in London on a trip the day it was released and remember the kids being interviewed on TV News outside HMV such was the media hype for the album. Trainspotting material, but there you go...
I remember always presuming the couple on the cover were American. The lady looks like she worked in a U S diner taking your order. Then I studied them and thought he had similar head shape to Noel and she had similar head shape to Liam and was it them dressed up in disguise. Too much time on my hands back in the day.
I bought a single for the Inspirals... Move... when on the tour from Sifters. Craig signed it for me. what a great guy... Did you produce the sleeve for this single
Yes mate the singles were in Benson and hedges and other cigarette box cases I got them in doncaster I was looking for this comment I had them all untill I leant them to my freind and he got them robbed of him by his girlfriends drug addict brother ...I was fuming
Hi Brian, love the video it’s really interesting. I have a don’t look back in anger single poster and I was wondering how I could get a picture to you so you could see if it is original or a reprint/ copy. Thanks
Another great and informative video, Brian. By the way, did you ever ask your ex-girlfriend's grandparents how they felt about being on the cover of Stand By Me? Curious to know if they ever told you. And did you give them a copy of the record? Did they like to listen to Oasis?
Brian you are incredibly talented it would be great if you could get Noel onboard to have a chit chat on the meaning he had behind the songs to marry the brilliant artwork vision you had on the records
I’d watch that :)
It's incredible how I can feel the same exactly emotions that I felt those days when I first had my hands on the CDs, everytime I watch those covers, even 2 decades later . You did an amazing job!
It’s not just oasis music that made the 90s it was all these iconic album/single cover sleeves , brings back so many great memories, thank you ❤
Brian , new format with all pieces on table works well 👌

A natural storyteller Brian. These videos are great. Let’s get NG onboard for at least one film with you.
So many stories in each microdot sleeve. I've always been so captivated by them and these videos prove the genius behind them all. Brilliant as always, Brian.
learning sumthing new every day bri the effort that goes in to it staggering

Lovin' these historic little insights Brian...They mean the world to us fans and creatives out there...Keep up the good work Fella.
That's a beauty of a picture.
Brilliant job , from Canada
To get explanations after all these years just blows my mind. Just amazing. Thank you
Can't wait to come and see this store mate looks absolutely amazing only wish it was a bit easier to get to haha 4 hours on a train from North Wales apparently
Thank you for being so open and honest about your work. Amazing! Nice one

Looks like Seoul Olympic Stadium and Madison Square Garden for the wedding pics. Great video, love finding out about the process behind the pictures.
Fascinating. I live in Korea, and the Moonies still exist here.
Brilliant as always Brian. Thanks for the video, you're a legend.

I was looking forward to this one!
Could you perhaps do a video on a Verve album or single cover?
Yes, coming soon.

I love these videos. I did GCSE Art Graphics and this was the kind of stuff I hoped we would do but we didn't.
Watched all the content you've put out so far. Love it. Hopefully make it across to the boutique someday. Keep up the great work.
another great vid brian, thanks mate
My copy is still sealed, I've never seen the inside so I'm quite pleased with your insight!!
Absolutely love this channel and all the videos so far, as a massive oasis fan the insight Brian offers behind the scenes with his anecdotes is pure gold!
Great stuff Brian, hope you do some Verve videos - they were brilliant as well.
Great!
Good video on the history/stories behind the sleeves. Really enjoying them Brian. I remember when you left Wigan for university, (was it Leeds)?
Brilliant these Brian! Keep them coming please!
brilliant

Great video keep it up find these very interesting
Thanks Brian!
Brilliant again Brian 👍🏻 I agree with another commenter that it would be superb if you could manage to get Noel on board for a chat about the old days on location shoots.
The couple on the front of the cover are my Grandparents, Ron and Ivy Johnston. Barry Johnston is my uncle, brother to my dad Lawrie.
I have been really enjoying these videos. Would it be possible to dial down the volume for the Microdot intro though? Over headphones I bring up the volume to hear you speaking and then the intro kicks in way louder.
I knew that anyway but still loved all the extra info, peace Bri ;)

Remeber buying the single.
Who's idea was the cigarette box single collections?
Yes mate the singles were in Benson and hedges and other cigarette box cases I got them in doncaster I was looking for this comment I had them all untill I leant them to my freind and he got them robbed of him by his girlfriends drug addict brother ...I was fuming
Was that hotel 'the crown' by any chance?

Were the grandparents still about when the single came out?
No, unfortunately they had passed away by then.
I have the Fly poster.. Creation Records gave it to me when I was a fan in my teens. I wonder if it's worth anything these days?
Can u do a video on the Heathen Chemistry cover?
What happened after be here now? Did you guys stop working with Oasis?
So that's why this was the only single from the first three albums that wasn't featured on Michael Spencer Jones's Supersonic photobook..
Exactly, he had nothing to do with it.
Who did all the artwork post Microdot?
I wish better bands with proper artwork did videos like these. Artwork is overlooked way too much. Keep up the good work :)
Now would be a good time to make some videos.
All around the world sleeve Q: is it Alan white on the front by the beach?
No, it's two friends of mine from Wigan.
Thanks. Don’t Go away cover is an interesting one. What’s the story (pardon the pun) with that one?
Can we see some verve love please Brian
I think the cover might be Brian's mum and dad...
the bloke looks like Graham Hill if he lived
