I moved to Munich in September 2002 and this should be my first real "Highlight" in my new hometown. I had to work on that sunday so i was looking forward to the evening to enjoy the gig of my favorite band. When I arrived at the venue hundreds of people in Oasis shirts walked towards me which gave me a strange feeling that something is wrong here. So I walked to the entrance and there was a sign at the door which read :Oasis cannot perform tonight due to an accident" or something like that. I was so pissed and felt for the people who travelled there from other parts of Germany. When Oasis finally played that gig a few month later - the barricade in the front broke down and Oasis left the stage after the first song! I couldn't believe it. But 15 minutes later they came back and played the whole gig. The gig was nothing special but me and my mate had our fun.
Liam Gallagher truly lived and breathed all aspects of rock n roll. What a man. The fact he has walked out of a brawl of that magnitude with no facial cuts and bruises is amazing. I genuinely think he is right about the German police pulling his front teeth out.
My brother's friend was one of the security.. He says there was a bang, Liam hit the floor thinking it was a gun and caught his teeth on something..he could of course have been making it up.
Remember going to the Sheffield Arena gig in December following this incident, Oasis weren't known for talking on stage but those gigs immediately after the Germany fight, that stage was quiet as anything I've heard. Noel was seriously pissed apparently.
YES! Thank you so much James. I've been asking for this video for ages and it didn't disappoint, although it raises as many questions as it answers. The German police seem sketchy as hell.
Inebriated Liam having his two front teeth surgically removed by German police might be the funniest thing I've ever heard but the line Liam signs off with "i could still whistle" to prove his point finished me off... 🤣
Interesting video but.... it was actually a mate of mine who was part of the Oasis crew that started that fight but only because he was pissed and fell into the Italian's table and scattered drinks all over them and their women. What happened after is hard to know but note how Noel mentioned 11 drunk Mancunians. There was a much bigger posse there than the papers reported and he was fired immediately after. When we heard who it was we all laughed as if you knew him it wasn't a big surprise...
Yeah it’s weird that James says “Liam started it cause everyone else was sitting down and only Liam and Alan are standing.” Like wtf.. how can you make a claim like that James? Have you never partied around a table? People are standing, leaning, sitting, coming back from the toilet.. they don’t sit like watching a movie. As soon as he said that I rolled my eyes. I sometimes like these videos cuz I see new stuff like I’ve never seen the mugshot but James’ speculations ruin it. Like his speculation Liam purposely ruined the Wembley gig. Like Nicki Minaj is suing a youtuber over false claims. Liam could do the same, and remember he sued his brother....so.... maybe keep the speculations to yourself

JAMES - keep up the fine work - you do deep-dives on topics die-hard fans are actually interested in, that standard journalists ignore. Can I make a request? I've never heard the band address the topic of stalkers or obsessive fans. We know how crazy Oasis fans were generally, and how bezerk the 90s were (fans taking vigil outside Noel and Liam's homes - the council even installing a bench and a dustbin outside Supernova Heights cos of the number of people gathering), but were there any situations with police involved or restraining orders or stalkers showing up in Liam's bedroom at 2am and security guards having to get them out, or Noel fighting them off? I'm not aware of any. Any insight into this would be fascinating, as it's one of the few topics I've rarely heard them asked about or broach themselves. I remember reading about an obsessive fan breaking into Noel's country house while he was away on tour circa 2000, and it was just his wife Meg and then-baby daughter Anais at home. I remember another incident where Nicole was punched in the head whilst out in the street with Liam...the person was aiming for Liam but he ducked and they got Nicole. I'm just surprised how little actual concrete information there is out there is about this, barring Liam complaining about Italian fans lurking outside his property in Hampstead circa 2010 - I guess it was such a daily thing they didn't even bother talking about it...but there must've been some hairy moments or like lunatics claiming to be married to Liam or something...
Noel mentioned he had a stalker on The Matt Morgan Podcast at some stage. She was some fan who went to all the gigs (NGHFB mind you) and even showed up outside his hotel room door. I think security got involved then. There were a few more crazy bits but I'll leave them for now.

If I remember correctly the police posted a still from the security tapes showing one of the "Italian mobsters". People recognized him, a buff guy from nearby Erding. Once they got him they found a connection to the others, Munich locals. Police went public with this about 17 months after the incident when the investigation was completed. They collected about one thousand pages of witness reports. I doubt that there is anything dodgy about it, the German police and law system is simply that incredibly bureaucratic and slow. Who knows how Liam lost his teeth but his story with film like police villains sounds rediculous. Munich is not located in Chechnya. Still makes the most sense that they were knocked out at some point during the brawl. Maybe he simply fell on his face, who knows. When you get hit in an unlucky angle only your teeth might get hit, the rest of the face might stay unharmed. According to the hotel manager in an interview 20 years later the security tapes show how one of the Oasis guys gets pushed on the table which was accidentely booked under the name of "Matera". The people at the table try to get rid of that guy, then the rest of the Oasis crew intervenes and the brawl starts. Hotel security can calm down the aituation a bit but once the groups arrive in the hotel lobby everything escalates again.
With hindsight I think this would of been a better time for Noel to of left the band after the Heathen Chemistry Tour, to go solo. That way, Gem & Andy would of have at least done one album, as Noel had resisted leaving for good in 2000 as he didn’t want people thinking them being in the band was just a sham. He could of used the Munich fight as one of his reasons for leaving, even though he wasn’t there, just the drama & cost of it. Then Importance of Being Idle would of been on his first solo album, at a time when guitar music was popular again with lots of new indie bands breaking through
I have to say, hearing the extent of the horrific injuries Liam had to endure at the hands of the Italian business men and potentially the German police, well, it's made my day. I would urge all brits travelling abroad to drink responsibly and engage with others in a pleasant Manner.
Saw the Minchello vid few days ago and (listening about his fight) I meant to message you about this particular Liam incident. At the time this story broke , I remember hearing his teeth were lost to some mafia guys in a bar brawl. Reminded me of when I went to see the band in Fukuoka, Japan (where I worked at the time) in 2002. I spoke to a big Scottish roadie outside the gig beforehand who said Liam wouldn’t be playing the gig that evening (this was the second time the band had gone to Fukuoka and, unfortunately for the local fanatical fans, the second time Liam had failed to turn up on stage in Fukuoka). We enquired why this was the case. Scotsman said to us that Liam had consumed way too much Japanese Saki on the previous nights gigs, and he also mentioned there had also been an altercation the night before with a few choice Japanese Yakuza whilst on the way back to the hotel. Sure enough, gig started, Liam left after about 1.5 songs, and his legend of mixing it with the best lived on with me. I genuinely love and admire the guy, although I also genuinely think he’s a massive fucking pussy who couldn’t throw a right hand for Lennon (see the bravado outside that hospital with the reporter where, to be fair, he looks a soft cunt). Cheers man.
Lol nothing surgical about having your front teeth knocked out, I have heard something about liam losing his front teeth a couple times, one time after oasis first tv appearance on the word tv show via terry christensen
defo affected his voice. they say thats why mercury and bowie did not bother...i think bowie did much later after his career but around that time liams voice was terrible

It sounds like some tall tales got told about what went down in that fight. Probably by the oasis PR team and or the media. If people were getting hit in the face with standing steel ashtrays and knuckle dusters then there would be some serious damage to his face in that mug shot. He looks absolutely fine.
I'm not really arsed about who or what happened but I doubt very much they were law abiding estate agents coz if I'd been one of them I'd be telling anyone who would listen about the time me and my mates had a massive barney with Liam Gallagher. But I'm assuming no one has ever come forward which sort of says to me that the Italians involved don't want to be known.
I was at the Cardiff gig a week a later. Liam kept on grinning showing off new teeth. I ended up being elbowed in the mouth (accidentally) mid gig causing a minor bleed.

Then Importance of Being Idle would of been on his first solo album, at a time when guitar music was popular again with lots of new indie bands breaking through
I remember this very well. He took a smack in the mouth ffs, who hasn't lol. Great stuff 👏
I have to say, hearing the extent of the horrific injuries Liam had to endure at the hands of the Italian business men and potentially the German police, well, it's made my day. I would urge all brits travelling abroad to drink responsibly and engage with others in a pleasant Manner.
Thanks Stuart Little.
@@robertmusson7307 you're welcome 😊
Drunken building site workers 😂😂
Nowt wrong with that
So sad..
Cheers man.
Great comment 💯 💯 💯
Great Channel
Love this channel but now I'm intrigued.. Did Liam even have his teeth knocked out? I mean there's no proof at all 🤷♂️
Fucking brilliant just what you want from a rock n roll star great stuff .
Noel said 11 mancs
Sounds like a Guy Ritchie flick to me.
Another mad moment in time I’d forgotten all about 😂👏🏻
Plot twist: Noel paid them to do it 😬
Noel wasn't arsed to do the German tour, lol.
Lol nothing surgical about having your front teeth knocked out, I have heard something about liam losing his front teeth a couple times, one time after oasis first tv appearance on the word tv show via terry christensen
They were architects, not mobsters. 😂
Yeah Noel saying Liam is a born liar. That’s obvious. Jay Cartwright
defo affected his voice. they say thats why mercury and bowie did not bother...i think bowie did much later after his career but around that time liams voice was terrible
This is like the Billy Boy vs Alex fight in A Clockwork Orange!
I heard LG had his front teeth pulled out with plyers by police and said he didn't feel thing to pissed ND on cocaine
Flicking peanuts at gangsters...how wise!!
The Sun’s a bollocks paper mate
'Mad fer it' since 1995 and I am an Italian living in Germany since 2010, so...yes mate, this romantic story really speaks to my heart ♥ 😄 Bravissimo. Love wild RKid back in the days
Why do you keep repeating parts over and over?
I was at the Cardiff gig a week a later. Liam kept on grinning showing off new teeth. I ended up being elbowed in the mouth (accidentally) mid gig causing a minor bleed.
Liam doing Kung-fu fighting......fucking legend
Bloody hell i didn't realise it was all as bad as this 😝
Definitely maybe this happened but don’t look back in anger.
AMAZING THANK
why is liam so angry if daddy never hit him?
Because witnessing abuse can have an intense psychological impact on someone
It’s a stranger story, I can’t have an. opinion about what really happened. But it seems you Don’t like Liam and you always think he is the only blammed. I love Liam and I love your videos too!
Nah he loves Liam, he may say that Liam’s usually the one to blame but he says it in an endearing way
