The main character of the video is my father. He is not only an actor, but also a singer/musician. The first bit of the video I saw for the first time was a scene where he is lip syncing to the song and I thought, "Damn dad, you are getting down!" hehe Actually, he and his partner Oscar Valez performed for many years at the Jolly Roger Inn in Anaheim, CA. (80's) If you ever saw him then, you would realize he did indeed get down! Thanks for using him in this video HURT.
Seriously, this is one of the most underrated bands of the past decade. Their music is unbelievably powerful and striking. No band i have ever heard of has ever hit me in the way Hurt does. I've seen them live twice, and each concert was an experience of a lifetime. I cant wait for this new album!!!!!
I've loved this song and video for years and it's still as touching today as the first time I heard it. As we get older and our bodies begin to fail and our loved ones begin to fall, you really do end up alone. Usually not by choice. so hold those loved ones close 'cause they won't be there forever and that is a fact.
Hurt and Blue October are 2 of the most underrated bands. Deep, inspirational, makes you not only think but blasts you in the gut and in the heart songs. This song is super painful.
I saw HURT at minglewood in Memphis a short time ago and they are AWESOME.The sound was incredible as i was at the stage with my daughter. They spent a great amount of time for "meet and greet" afterwards.AWESOME
I got chills listening to this, like I always do with most if Hurts songs, no matter how many times I listen to them. They only create what makes you feel and love music, emotion, and I love em!
+Michael Roy just got done taking care of mom. She had ALS/Lou Gerhigs (depending on your age one of the two will ring a bell) 14 months brother. From anxiety and tantrums after diagnosis, to needed help on little things.....to needing help on Big things and more often, walker phase, wheelchair phase,,, complete paralysis (where you do absolutely everything for them at that point) and then...hospice. If you really wanna do some "work" Take care of parents IN THE HOME. give them whats called "home hospice care" Its not only more personal and sacred when mom or dad can pass in THEIR room, with their son/daughter, dogs...you know, the family. Just thought id share a little with you, because i commend the statement you said, But this video helps remind us how lonely the end of life is for many in our modern western civilization. their is a disconnection. people don't want to be around death. people dont want to "deal with it" Well there is two kinds of people then isnt there? Those who were with mom, or dad, the entire time until they leave us, or not. you either run into the fire, or run away. Sorry for the long message but "something" came over me to tell you. Take it easy
It's o,k. everyone has their own experiences and that leads to different opinions. Most the time nobody is right or wrong they just see things differently, death is very uncomfortable to be around but even if you avoid being around it you still feel the empty absense. as difficult as it is to be there it is the easier way out to me. i can live with the fact that i went through hell caring much better than i can live with that i abandoned. After all, the dead don't suffer. The living do and selfishly I can't live with THAT.
Keep coming back to this vid. I use to be a big time LP fan till ATS come out. Started listening to hurt more often and then became hooked after repeatingly play G2TM. NOW FAVE BAND ON EARTH.
The levels of dedication and emotion you guys put into your songs is more than just inspiring, it is truly moving. I love you all, you've been my favorite band for years. I can't wait for The Crux!
I have not yet found a song by HURT that I don’t like. They’re all amazing and powerful in their own way. I found these guys a couple weeks ago and damn, the lyrics, the instrumental, it all seems so intelligently curated. Just wanted to say how great they are, they deserve more exposure, super underrated, beautiful song btw!
Been listening to you guys since the beginning and have had a huge impact on my life, especially with the loss of my best friend and Vol 2 really saved my life. I'm so you've had to endure so much "Hurt" but I hope y'all keep making music. Your fans love you!!!!!!
I stumbled upon this video a few months ago by accident and while this music genre isn't something I'd normally listen to, I freakin' LOVE this song! Such a strong and moving lyric base and touching video that gel really well with each other.
So thankful for their new album, i think its what i've been needing to get me through some hard times, because listening to Hurt defiantly makes me smile.
damn, hurt is an amazing band. i bought this album before even hearing a song on it. bought the album out of pure trust. a band from my home state of virginia. they've amazed me so far. now that i see this....i love this song. had no idea it was a single. i could go on and on....
Yes Very Powerful Video.and it definitely Ducks Me Up. I keep seeing this over & over in my mind thinking is this all I have forward to look for????? Damn!!!!!
Kurt Vorhis If you only look forward then yes but it shows he was happier when he looked back at what he lost and it's only when he came to terms with why he ended up where he did that he could be at peace again.
I went and saw you guys when touring on your first album and you guys gave me a pick and signed my old old school id and I love your guys music still...only band ive ever liked every song on the album Volume 1 which still stands the test of time for me.
I am so stoked for The Crux... These next 10 days are going to crawl in anticipation. If the album is even a fraction as good as this song, it's going to be absolutely epic. Haven't been disappointed by HURT yet, be it Vol I, Vol II, Goodbye to the Machine or Consumation.
I know it's a lot to ask for, but I really wish HURT would do a European/UK tour. I'm such a huge fan of this band, have supported them rigorously since Vol.I. I just wish to see them live at least once before I end up like this old man.
Made me cry like a baby. I was in a huge fight with my girlfriend and future wife for over 3 hours on the phone while over 3000 miles apart at like 2 in the morning. We were both crying, yelling, and screaming over anything and everything. We came so close to ending us so many times and we've never been anywhere near that before. I've never been so scared or upset ever. She means more to me than anything, and I can't bear the thought of ever losing her and this hit me so hard this morning.
Finally a video, release date and tours, it has been way too long. This is one of the most under rated bands and most profound I have ever listened to. I can't wait until May 1st.
What a great video. Perfect for the tone of the song. A lot of pain in the lyrics and vocals. It makes me sad even though I can hardly connect with the character
I can relate to the lyrics and the video, though I'm not an old man. There's something about this music video that breaks my heart. It brings tears to my eyes. Still can't stop watching it. Very disturbing, very touching. It's cruel and beautiful at the same time, (just like life is). The death of a baby can definitely damage any relationship. I'm glad this video shows that. Hurt never ceases to amaze me. It is simply amazing! I dedicate this song/video to my ex-wife. This is how we end up alone.
this guys are simply amazing. they leave me stunned everytime i listen to them. it just shocks me that they are still not popular they are better then the majority out there that people consider music!
Thank you guys for allowing me to be a part of your music and video. I had a great time.
I hope you win a Grammy.
Larrs Jackson
Great performance, Larrs. :)
We love you pops!!! We rocking with you!!!
Amazing work!!
Sir your performance was perfect.
This is iconic to so many of us Larrs hope u had a good time working on it.

he put on a hell of a performance. one of the most powerful videos I've seen
+Brady Larson Who is the babe in the beginning of the video?
+Brady Larson Thanks for writing buddy. I always wondered about the dude in the video. Hoped that the real dude didn't feel that way in real life
+Michael Roy You must be proud of him.
I love the song to begin with, but your dad 'made' the video. Phenomenal job.
Get back together, most underrated band ever. So unique and universal.
I agree. One of my all time "what ifs" or "could have been" was if Hurt kept up their trajectory from the 2000s and 2010s
2:46 gawd damn, is that guitar solo so underrated, So perfectly executed!🖤
Seriously, this is one of the most underrated bands of the past decade. Their music is unbelievably powerful and striking. No band i have ever heard of has ever hit me in the way Hurt does. I've seen them live twice, and each concert was an experience of a lifetime. I cant wait for this new album!!!!!
Hurt is one band I wish I could see live. They are probably my #1 band I want to see live. Sadly, I do not think that will ever happen.
@@kevinvansickle9393 same here, brother. Same here...
@@zakkw788 it is a very sad reality.
I saw this after "UP" movie. no words.
Shit is rough. I had a grandfather who left with Alzheimer's. This song and this video fucks me up
I feel his pain. To wake up every day only to realize your one true love is gone is a fate worse that death itself. Amazing video though!
Such a powerful video with powerful lyrics... I fuckin love this band.
+John Fischer yeah love them they are just one of those that really says like it is and its a shame they ain't more popular
we have the same name and same opinion. are we related? lol
I've loved this song and video for years and it's still as touching today as the first time I heard it. As we get older and our bodies begin to fail and our loved ones begin to fall, you really do end up alone. Usually not by choice. so hold those loved ones close 'cause they won't be there forever and that is a fact.
sad but true god bless
I cried the first time i heard this it was honestly such a moving thing for me at the time. All this time and it still holds up
amazing band, amazing song. enough said.
This band is soooo underrated. Love this song.
Hurt is a band that keeps getting better with each record. I don't understand why more people aren't fans of this band.
okay fck, that's the saddest video, made me cry.
For me, 'The Ghost of Christmas (failure) Future'. Whoops Freudian slip. Oh, just keep it up. The Destiny.
If you listen good all his music will make you cry . Rapture for one that song and me have a very close connection I hear it and I brake down
I miss this Band. I've been blown away since Vol. 1 came out. And still their music gives me so much.
I cried as soon as i saw the images on the music video. No MV has ever done that to me.
God bless the HURT
Hurt and Blue October are 2 of the most underrated bands. Deep, inspirational, makes you not only think but blasts you in the gut and in the heart songs. This song is super painful.
Memories of my father!!!!!!!!!!! 11-25-11 Leon H French! Miss YA!
totally agree. I got to meet them a few years ago after a show here in spokane and they are super nice to the true fans they have out there. love 'em.
I saw HURT at minglewood in Memphis a short time ago and they are AWESOME.The sound was incredible as i was at the stage with my daughter. They spent a great amount of time for "meet and greet" afterwards.AWESOME
This is so powerful. I cried. Because this video represents reallity. In the end we all die alone.
I got chills listening to this, like I always do with most if Hurts songs, no matter how many times I listen to them. They only create what makes you feel and love music, emotion, and I love em!
I will never abandon my dad.
+Michael Roy I would have to die first.

i find myself watching this video a few times a day..i miss my dad..happy fathers day Dad
I really like this song, but this music video really gets me, its really sad, but it is truly beautiful how it captures like such emotions.
Song near nothing w/o Vid. at least to me.
Real
Talk about an "out of body" experience. Hurt has always had the ability to create powerful songs. They have a way with words and its incredible.

That's why we have to make every moment count until we get there.
Kurt Vorhis If you only look forward then yes but it shows he was happier when he looked back at what he lost and it's only when he came to terms with why he ended up where he did that he could be at peace again.
Powerful clip. Hail to the man behind it..
I bought Hurt Vol.1 on a whim a long time ago; and years later its probably still one of the best decisions I ever made.
Wow. This video was absolutely breath taking. I love when music makes my soul ache because I know this song all to well, in my own world.
met this singer by happenstance at a show. What a great guy. Took he time to autograph the hurt shirt I bought. Fan since ten ton brick
Amanda Rush Since Falls Apart
Amanda Rush. I'm a fan since falls apart and rapture
I saw them at Alter Bar in Pittsburgh. Excellent they were. I wouldnt mind seeing them again.
Please come back to Nashville on the electric tour! J. you are the man! Thank you for all the inspiration.
I've had this album for a while now, but I had no idea they'd done a vid for this. Great work
Vid / music compliments each other.
When a song hits home......
Awe inspiring. I can watch this over and over again. I'm not sure I've ever seen a song fit a video this perfectly. Love it!
once again HURT prove they should be far bigger, another great effort
Love this band, they always do over-the-top videos
I went and saw you guys when touring on your first album and you guys gave me a pick and signed my old old school id and I love your guys music still...only band ive ever liked every song on the album Volume 1 which still stands the test of time for me.
I totally understand this song. It means a lot more than you would guess.

Haven't been disappointed by HURT yet, be it Vol I, Vol II, Goodbye to the Machine or Consumation.
Such a beautiful song & video;; can't help but to cry when listening/watching!
It's been a long time since I have been moved to tears but this definitely did the trick.
This track teaches empathy better than anything else I've seen in a while. Very powerful.
SludgeWarehouse watch the music video for Cape of Our Hero by Volbeat. If that doesn't move you to tears I don't know what will
Love Hurt... So glad album is dropping on my birthday!!!
Best music video I've ever seen
that transition to guitar at 2:47ish is just beautiful...
The Truth, HURTS. Love this band
I know it's a lot to ask for, but I really wish HURT would do a European/UK tour. I'm such a huge fan of this band, have supported them rigorously since Vol.I. I just wish to see them live at least once before I end up like this old man.

Wow...amazing video....great tune...love Hurt.
I'm going to see them 19th at the REV Room here in Little Rock. I'll send your love.
This song deserves A LOT more attention.
Its too good to be ignored :P
How is this still so powerful all these years later
I fell in love with the song when I first heard it.. The video is equally amazing! Really gives ya something to think about..
Three words : High Quality Music .
Volume 1 & 2 are still my favourite albums, volume 1 is actually my favourite album of all time. But this album is still pretty amazing.
One of the best music videos I've ever seen in a hell of a long time. Well done
thank you ..... directly aimed at the band HURT....your amazing ....
this band deserves waaay more attention
You can really see the expression of hurt in this man's face..
Killer tune, excellent video. Thanks!
This is a fantastic music video
Awesome song. Goodluck to this band. I'm a fan!
Hurt never fails to speak the truth
this guys are simply amazing. they leave me stunned everytime i listen to them. it just shocks me that they are still not popular they are better then the majority out there that people consider music!
Man, this is what we are all going to turn into one day. Old and insane
You did an awesome job in the music video! So much emotion!
Great video/song Hurt did an amazing job!
Great video! Great coverage about issues other bands don't sing about.
