Odd case of a band that got a ton of radio play but was pretty much completely forgotten just a few years later. Hurt was a much higher quality Alt Metal band as well, making it even dumber. Overshadowed by countless crap in mainstream rock over the last decade. Vol 1 and 2 are both excellent, especially 2. This is one of my favorites they recorded.

I went to high school in 2007 as a freshman/sophomore and am stunned that I never once heard of this band until nearly turning 30. It sounds so much like the late 2000s. If I'd discovered it back then it would be a nearly 15 year favorite of mine but I'm happy to have found it in 2021

2024, I still come back to this absolute gem of a song. I remember picking up this album the day it came out. This song has and always will have a special place in my heart. A band that should of had so much more.

Damn I love this effin band!! Feel in LOVE when I heard "Alone with the Sea" at Phoenix hill in Louisville! ..side note the lead singer is super uber 🔥..playing that violin w those eyes..they saw right into my very SOUL! So much talent and energy. ROCK ON 🎸
That is easily the my favorite song ever. The raw emotion on that one is off the charts. So amazing.
Saw these guys at a concert maybe 10-12 years ago. I can't remember. They weren't even on the list of names. It was Seether and maybe Breaking Benjamin or something like that, and some other band lol. Three Days Grace, I believe.
These guys came out last and one guy had a fucking violin, the singer, maybe.. And I was hooked. One of my top favorite bands ever. They were the best of the bunch. I went to that concert for Seether and left loving Hurt.
Yeah, it was Seether, BB and 3DG. Hurt was the opener and they were amazing. Still one of my favorite concerts.

I saw them way before that when they were an opener for Army of Anyone. Army of Anyone was the headlinder and the openers were in order, Neurosonic, Dropping Daylight, Hurt, then Army of Anyone. The raw emotion of the lead singer floored the fuck outta me.
I saw them in Madison at Band Camp with a similar lineup. Killer.

People have the wrong idea about musicians they think we all make a shit ton of money that is not true.... It was an honor sharing the stage with hurt definitely one of the best shows I ever performed

HURT is one of the best bands I have ever listened to, all musical geniuses, and not a soul knows who they are...
I can't pick a definitive favorite artist, so it's a tie between Hurt and Nine Inch Nails and Stabbing Westward.
The drums are killer ,This band is so underrated and radio can't handle their style of truth. HURT get back on track and cut another album.

It's not that the radio can't handle their style of truth, it's that the majority prefers different music.
We're the minority and this won't be mainstream until their style changes. Fact of life.

It's just that mainstream is into the main bands like FFDP, BMTH, among the many oh and let's not forget the sellouts like Metallica and too much Nirvana and the like. I'd like to hear more newer bands like Hurt and the such.

I absolutely love these guys. Such variety from one band. He sings with passion and its not sell out, just to make money kinda music. Its soulful. My favorite by him is wars. Love the vid too. I first heard of Hurt on spotify a few months ago. If you dont have spotify its an app for android. Pretty good, I recommend it. It allows you to listen to bands you never heard of along with the greats. For instance, search for chevelle, and spotify gives a a list of similar bands. Im not promoting spotify, nor am I getting paid to mention them. Just letting everybody know thats how I found hurt. Other cool bands I recommend too....the veer union, adema, and chevelle. I hope hurt gets more sponsorship and grows bigger. Id like to see more from them.

HURT fans don't go to shows to mosh or crowd surf. We go to enjoy the hard work these amazing individuals put into their art.

Published on youtube after it's heyday. No one plays this song on the radio anymore. For about 3 years it was played a lot on my local station. Octane of course doesn't play it much. They never reached the big band status like Staind etc.
Honestly a good question, outside of if the song is good or not (I think it's pretty good, definitely better than most post grunge fare). This song and the album it was on won Canadian music awards, yet the band fell into obscurity

What the fuck happened to J. Loren Wince? I miss the fuck out of him.and Hurt's albums are in constant rotation. Been mostly sober for the nearly 5 years I've been with my fiance. She loves this band. I've recently fallen off the wagon again and was hooked up to an EKG. I'm drinking again so fuck it.

They're criminally underrated. I really think they came along far too late when it comes to post grunge. Seether had them beat by a few years.

Saw this band as an opening act for who, I don't even remember because they blew me away that I can't even remember. I just remember it was the early '00 and I think it was maybe Three Days Grace or Seether, which says a ton cause I LOVE Seether. I cannot understand why bands like Hurt and Blue October are not 2 of the biggest band ever.

I was cutting grass. Didn't see a thin patio brick. It flew out from under the mower. I jumped, too slow. It hit my foot with the corner right between the pinky and next bone, no break. Knocked my foot up into the sky and me straight on my face. Hurt like Hades but i know the trick for that. SCREAM OUCH!!! Louder you scream, more pain is relieved. I managed to get up, hobble across the yard then street, no one home. Hobbled back across street, bugged neighed to bandage foot. Other guy came home. Hobbled across street, got paid, then hobbled a 6th of a mile home. Careful not to bleed on white carpet, i hobbled all around to gather everything i needed. I called my mom to let her know. She didn't realize how bad it was til she got home. I sat with foot elevated til then. She insisted i go get it xrayed, so i did, for nothing. It was fine, just cut. I did make money for the pain meds they prescribed me, as my foot healed quickly and i didn't need em. Limped around for about 5 days, then walked almost normally.
Point is, look really close thru the grass you're cutting. Yiu can't jump faster than that blade can thro something
