  • This is a link to a TED Talk video that describes the negative impact from a small mouth leading to a small airway, and how this disturbs sleep. The affects lead to ADHD, morning headaches, daytime sleepiness, poor concentration, heart burn, sleep bruxism, TMJ problems, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, stroke and death. Early detection is the key and screening all children is in the near future. Jerald H. Simmons, MD is a neurologist sleep specialist (and epileptologist) who studied sleep medicine at Stanford University with legendary pioneers Christian Guilleminault, MD and William Dement, MD.. This TED Talk is a tribute to Dr. Guilleminault who was a tremendous influence on developing Dr. Simmons clinical approach to patients sleep disorders.
