He plays with such confidence and swagger. Even if it’s just a simple four on the floor, his playing makes you want to get up and groove. And every note he plays is exactly where it should be. I can only hope to be one percent of the drummer he is. This dude is just unreal in his playing. And how he has so much fun is so apparent in his expressions.
Many great tech drummers on this planet.
But no one matches Thomas Lang's combination of technique, feel and improvisional skills.
And he is the one who pushes the limit of possibility in all three areas.
Met him three times - very friendly down-to-earth dude.
I'd like to just add to the fact that besides Thomas being freakishly Superhuman behind the drumkit.
Many, many moons ago having been extremely fortunate I got to meet him at a drum clinic in Adelaide Australia, and being just a helper on the day was invited out for a bite with him and some of the other clinician's after the event. He was a lovely, down to earth all round good guy that enjoyed a chat, and of which it was damn humbling to be able to just sit and chat with a guy that had literally only a few hours before blown my mind with his abilities and humour. It completely destroyed my naive and preconceived assumptions that a superstar player of this calibre would even dare just hang out with us mere mortals eating pizza and having a beer and I will never forget it.
Thank you Thomas for the inspiration you give us aspiring drummers by showing us what is capable.

This has got to be the most depressing video I've seen. I'm a drummer myself, and the chops, the kit, the impeccable time, the variety of fills used as basically a warp speed demonstration of basic rudiments combined with the sole purpose of kicking my ass. Now I know my headache will only dissipate after watching this video drum extravaganza maybe 50 more times.

Thomas has hands down become my favorite drummer in the last five years or so. Plus he just seems like he would be awesome to hang out with.

As a drummer, ive been following Thomas for years, from grooves to instructional. IMO, the top tier of brilliance and musical talent. This man is the best. I look forward to what else is to come. Cheers Mr Lang!😎

Un. Freaking. Believable. Not only does he OBLITERATE 4/4 cut time, but the polyrhythms are STUPID SICK. "Genius" doesn't even come close. Damn, I remember when Thomas first came to my attention. I think it was in the mid 2000's, he was just a flashy stick-trick-gimmick kinda drummer and now I've seen his evolution all the way here. Insane to see his growth and reinvention. Big kudos. Def one of my favorite nowadays!

His double-bass ability and ability to move his feet around in different times really sets him apart from a lot other contemporary drummers. I think many of us know the likes of Dennis Chambers, Dave Weckl, Benny Grebb, Gavin Harrison, etc........ all phenomenal drummers. I think Mr. Lang has the advantage with his legs. Just my opinion from listening to hundreds of clips and videos from all of these performers. I'm not saying any one drummer is better than the other, all have their strengths. Aquiles Priester is another rock beast. So many great drummers and glad in the modern era we can have the pleasure of hearing and watching them via the internet. Great stuff. I only wish we had all this content when I was a teen as I may have made some different choice in life when it comes to music in my life. Rock on!

What can you say about Mr. Lang AWESOME!!!!!!! . He makes everything look so effortless I guess this is what it looks like when you been playing since childhood practicing 6 to 8 hours or more a day. Love this man he is an inspiration and truly a world wide gift to Drumming period.

You are almost as good at applying flawless technique in context, as I am at drinking beer and eating cheese pops on Wednesday.
With everything going on what needs to be remembered is the last single is just as even and powerful as the first. The endurance and consistentcy is what makes the top guys magic. Anyone can play one dope fill in time and groovy. To be able to do it for an hour or two non stop. Thats how you get paid to do it. Shred solos or pocket.. gotta be able to go all night .

Tomas Lang is a damn alien from another planet. I've been playing drums all my life and the shit that he comes up with no mortal man would come up with anything like this guy. Not even the African American jazz players or black church choir drummers. As awesome as all of them are this proves his not a normal human being. Because even black folks doesn't sound that funky. And I love black church choir drummers.

I watch this four or five times a week! Thomas being Thomas and delivering a performance.
But I also get this Friday mid morning vibe, recording on a sunny day in California, capping the week with a stellar performance and heading off into the weekend. Makes me feel good watching this and of course ready to play drums🥁🤘🏼

I have to reframe from exposing my drum students to Thomas's playing because they either start crying and quit or I get a call from their parents a few weeks later saying the kid went into a coma while trying to play a lightning fast double kick roll over a triple polyrhythm groove :(

Carrey plays in an extraordinary Band & has created unique time signatures - Lang has also unique time signatures but does not play in a band like TOOL . This is not a competition - thats where your ego got triggered .
