    The solution of mounting the numpad on the quick release of the fanatec wheel base is genius!!

    Seems a bit overcomplified. Way i did mine - mounted HOTAS throttle and stick locating on sides of seat (with extra mount point on left & stick on shifter profile behind mouse plate mount), mounted to underside of rised rig (on caster wheels, but in your case motion actuators would serve same role) multisection profile to serve as floor for rudder pedals (in front and below simrace pedals) + added seat sliders.
    So i just remove wheel from quickrelease, slide seat all way back, and my legs/hands naturally rest on flightsim controls. No inserting/mounting/bolting anything except taking off steering wheel & sliding seat, no tools, quick & simple & rigidly mounted.
    It will get overcomplified though if one absolutely must have yoke or center mounted stick though due need to add/remove them, with possibly something on hinges & quick latches, but luckily i feel fine using sidemount flightsim controls, if anything, it even feels a bit more ergonomic/modern.

      Glad you like your way. I’m very happy with my way.

      Your solution seems to be very easy. Unfortunately I measure 1m93 / 6.3 feet so I am already in the seat position as far back as possible to pilot, I cannot place the rudder in front of the pedals :/

      @@maitrecaribouu technically you can add sliders also under simrace pedals (i did so, but ended up not using, as range (~27cm?) of seat sliders at extremes was sufficient for me.
      Also have you done it "at extremes" of slider? Mount seat a bit more backwards, move all way back in sliders, mount FS rudder pedals in HOTAS for this position. Now move all way to front, and adjust wheelbase position & simrace pedals to fit to now this frontmost position.
      And take note, that rudder pedals are not just "in-front" of simrace ones for me, but AND below them. On SL P1-X rig, with "rudder-floor-profile" to bottom on rig, on simrace pedals with extra sliders on them, SR pedals are mounted on surface of.. hmm .. about 25cm higher then "rudder-pedal-floor". That results, that my legs on rudder pedals are more "downwards", more bent in knee, while simrace pedals are higher up, with legs straighter in knee, thus somewhat "longer" :), which adds up to "purely slider range".
      Whole album including older pics/stages of rig build photos.app.goo.gl/5ANGKNzkrt2XiVrC9
      Feeling very satisfied with not having anymore to do any sort of removing (apart from steering wheel from quickrelease), and any cable reconnection. I just pull slider handle and move seat to "change rig mode".

    I've also made a driving/flying rig. Mine is a little to massive for motion, but if you want to see how I switch mine, let me know. You might be interested in how I do my flight stick. Cool rig though.

    good stuff.. how do you turn on your DD1? do you reach behind and turn it on everytime?

      @PiranhaZ06  Год назад +1

      It’s the DD2 so I have the kill switch which also has a power on switch on it.

      @@PiranhaZ06 ah ok cool.. i have the DD1 so i have to purchase that.. i just upgraded to a proper rig and a DD1 and your videos have been tremendous help to me on my rig mods... do you know of a good source that ships aluminum extrusion pieces in standard lengths or cut to order? also, what are your thoughts on a 49 inch ultrawide vs triples? keep up the good work and thanks again...

      I don’t know of a good source for 8020. I ordered 1 piece from Amazon but it was more expensive than it should have been.
      Personally I would never choose an ultra-wide monitor. The perspective is all wrong and nowhere near as much visibility as triples. But many people love it and I’m sure it’s much cheaper than 3 separate monitors.
      Glad you find them useful!

    I was looking at the Sparco R100 reclining seat as an option for myself, but it looks like comfort is an issue as you've got a cushion to pad it out. What's it like for back comfort/support?

    • @PiranhaZ06
      @PiranhaZ06  Год назад +2

      I actually don’t like seats with lumbar support and so that part is fine for me. The seat is comfortable… it’s just that I’m a bigger guy and the bolsters get to my outer posterior after awhile.
