As in higher definition than my previous upload #1 which still has some of the VHS footage.
2nd upload of this famous performance.
Kevin Mooney's wonderful agit-pop-art perf'/very public resignation from the band.
Fabulous stuff, even tho' The Ants were better with Kevin in the band than not.
My 1st upload of this represents the performance as originally broadcast
on British TV. This version is my own cut/edit of the visuals that makes use of the footage from the two newer, more recent broadcasts which is of a much higher quality than the old VHS copies. However, as these broadcasts were truncated & did not show the full performance I have edited the material to copy, re-use & fill in the missing sections to finish with a version of the whole performance that uses only the better quality footage.
None of the VHS quality video is used on this version (except the very last few seconds).
The audio is the same as the orig & is unaffected by the edits.

The performance of a lifetime for the ants. this is so incredible, and this was the most amazing time to be alive as a teenager.
Yeah it's good fun, tho' I'm not sure Adam thought so at the time...
Haha! Kevin Mooney was a hoot. Keeping a bass with a body that heavy horizontal without the help of a guitar strap for any length of time would have been difficult for Arnold Schwarzenegger. The look that Adam gives him is classic. Ha!

The reason i got into the band as a 10 yr old (and went on to become a drummer) was because of the 2 kits and the very prominent percussion on their tracks.
Still sounds amazing. The 'Kings' single is what got me into music too.

Hell of a vocalist, Ol' Adam. Nice clear audio even without a mike.
He's a great vocalist alright.
Mind you Kev's an absolute whizz on the bass, manages to keep playing even when he's using it as a backscratcher.

I heared one of the reasons Kevin was pissed off was because they were supposed to sing live but then got asked to pre-record the day before. This pushed an unhappy Kevin, who didn't think the kids Royal Variety was right for the ants.

If looks could kill!! Adam did well to pretend nothing was happening. It's a shame because Kev Mooney was one hell of a bass guitarists
Actually Mooney went off script because he didn't think the Band should've played a children's Variety Show. By then Adam was turning up to the opening of an envelope and they were vastly over exposed. Kev thought that Adam's antics had shot their credibility and he wanted out.

Mooney was punk core and thought the ants were damaging the type. He should not have done this though. He was an excellent bass player too.
