- Kevin Mooney's hysterical performance in front of the Queen!!
5 years after this Adam was staying at the Wembley International Hotel the night before his LIVE AID appearance. Me and my brother stayed at the same hotel that night, so we wouldn't have such an early start on the day of the concert. The hotel messed up our reservations and didn't have a room for my brother, so they managed to squeeze him in, on the top floor, in the room next to Adam!!!! We never saw him unfortunately but we had a fun night in the bar the night before Live Aid with lots of road crew!!
The next day, was one I'll never forget!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Gods I had the biggest crush on Kevin Mooney as a kid. Convinced that it was because of him I saw the error of my ways and realised I liked boys far more!

he was a skaghead and he got Jordan hooked. She would have died a lot younger than 66 if she stayed with him.
Oh and did I mention he kicked her cat and gave it brain damage?
The cat survived initially but a couple of years later wandered out in front of traffic and got run over, which it might not have done if not for what Kevin did to it.

This isn't the full royal variety perfomance. This is bits of the show spliced into a naff, badly researched documentary.
At least Kevin Mooney could see how thoroughly ridiculous the whole thing was yeah we're on with the Krankies I'm surprised stu Francis and Rolf Harris weren't there too yeah Marco I fink you did hammer the last nails into punk perhaps Eater should have been invited
How was the Children's Royal Variety Performance the end of Adam's career? What a load of hogwash!
Stand and Deliver and Prince Charming were not yet released or even recorded properly as of February 1981. The Kings of the Wild Frontier title track single had not yet been repromoted and had only been to number 48 in the charts so far. The Kings album had not yet started its massive ten week 2nd run at number 1 (up to this point it had two weeks at number one in January off the back of Antmusic getting to number 2 and ony being stopped from the top by Imagine by John Lennon). The Dirk album and Cartrouble & Zerox singles were all just crossing over into the Proper Charts at this point.
All in all, The Ants had only had 3 Top 10 hits (Dog Eat Dog, Antmusic and the repromoted Young Parisians) at this point. Adam hadn't even so much as set foot in America. He would go on to do the main Royal Variety Performance for HM The Queen herself in the Autumn, the Falklands thankgiving show for Prince Charles (now King Charles III) in 1982 and the Motown 25 show with Diana Ross coming onstage during his performance in 1983 - and of course Live Aid.
He was barely started.
I think they are referring to the end of Adam AND The Ants, not Adam Ant's solo success, but I take your point.
@@RageInEden All the "end" of Adam and the Ants was was another change of lineup (the laterst of many). A massive album and the Ants' two big number one hits werwe recorded after Kevin Mooney left. (Stand and Deliver was recorded in the interim, the PC title track with Gary).
Mooney was on smack.
Jordan only lived to be 66 because she got away from him.
