I think Ash’s definition of being a Pokémon Master makes sense given we have seen of his character. Not everyone is going to be Champion or even wants to be Champion.

Just finished the last episode today since I wanted to watch it in English. My friend Kevin was a big Pokémon fanatic, and he played every game since Red and a Blue. He passed away when dealing with depression a few years back. The last episode made me cry knowing Kevin never got to see the end of Ash’s journey.

I was there for the very first episode and watched them to the last. I'm 30 but pokemon was such a crutch for me in a broken home that it took me away from everything. It's crazy to see how far all of this has come.

I did keep watching Naruto and Inuyasha though.
I'm glad that my brother introduced me to Pokemon back in 2009 and I was 6 back then. It's so weird that I got to live to see him leave yesterday and I'm turning 20 next year. It hits different for me, but it definitely hits different for my brother who was there from the start and he was like 11 or 12 years old. I would like to start by saying I love yours and everybody else's anime reviews, and I can't wait to see this in the dub, speaking of that it feels like everybody says that the dub is terrible and the only way you can watch is subbed, However, I think a lot of people don't realize that some people cannot watch subs for one reason or another, I myself right and many others are blind or visually impaired and therefore have to wait for DVBBS. My message to Ash: Farewell, Ash. I'm certain most everyone will miss you. I've watched you for half of my life. While I'm excited for Horizon's and will tune in every week to watch it, I'll still miss you and Pikachu.
The Laitos and Latias arc ended up actually paying off in a way here. Because Latios didn't truly befriend Ash before he and Latias left, Ash knows he's still got ways to go for his goal.
That's a good point, one that I hadn't really picked up on until after I had recorded the voiceover for this review, but I totally agree. Ash is still hung up on Latios at multiple points in this episode, and it's because he didn't truly befriend it. That also makes more sense as to why the last episode ended the way it did, because I didn't really understand why they had Latios leave without fully accepting Ash. Now it all makes sense, having seen this last episode!
Some of the stuff I absolutely loved. 1. I absolutely popped when pidgeot swooped in and saved the day, we finally got to see them back together at last. 2. I found it pretty hilarious how Wobbuffet was so worried and sad the whole time team rocket was "separated" and to see him get emotional when they were all back together even when they were blasting off carnivine and gourgeist all held hands ✋️ 😢
Watching the episode I was thinking "wait why Carnivine and Gourgeist" and then I was like ohhh they needed two Pokémon who could hold hands with Wobbuffet hahaha
Team Rocket's final motto and Ash's final Thunderbolt call's animation was absolutely beautiful. They made both so expressive and honestly, it's understandable. This is the final time we will see both and they were absolutely amazing. Thank you Ash for all the fun times. (This isn't the last time I'll see him, I'm definitely rewatching all the previous seasons and movies but regardless, this episode made me cry. Especially when Type: Wild started playing).
That was an emotional whirlwind. What a full circle episode! Remember having the VHS of the first three episodes when I was a kid. I stopped watching after Pokemon left kids WB during the middle of Hoene. This episode had a ton of beautiful call back! What a great episode and touching conclusion.
I've been very on and off with the anime pretty much since the beginning. It started airing in the US a month before I was born, and my earliest memories are of watching pokemon 2000. I saw bits and pieces of the gen 1, 2,3, and 4 anime. Gen 5 I didn't watch at all, and gen 6 and 7 I only watched the finales. Journeys was the first time I saw a season through from beginning to end. Through it all, Ash has been there, and honestly, despite my on and off nature, I will miss him. But at the same time, I'm going into the new anime with an open mind and am ready for new adventures. Besides, you just know Ash will make more appearances, probably at least once every few years.
If this is the end of our journey… thank you Ash for all the memories, all the days when me and my friends would throw out rocks battling with imaginary Pokémon, and the all the times we were hyped to see where will you go next! You made our childhood better. We all hope to see you once again. Farewell old friend… 😢
I haven't watched the Pokemon anime since the Sinnoh League and even those episodes I watched sparingly. I grew up watching Kanto and Johto. Every day after school I would watch Pokemon and sing a long to Pikachu's jukebox. Y'all remember Team Rocket's Double Trouble song? 😭 It was lit! And I know we all know the Pokemon rap! And Brock singing about Jenny and Joy! I may not have watched the newer seasons or movies, but Pokemon is still part of my childhood and growing up. Watching this video, seeing Ash and Pikachu's end, it was heartbreaking and did make me cry. It really felt like saying goodbye to an old friend. I didn't expect it to make me as emotional as it did, since I hadn't been keeping up with the series, but it really kinda broke my heart. But also bittersweet. Good luck on your journeys Ash and Pikachu. Thank you for the wonderful memories
Hahaha😂 Thank you for this. I've watched all of the Pokémon anime, and even gone back and rewatched the stuff I saw as a kid. And when I'm rewatching the old stuff, Pikachu's Jukebox is *required* viewing, even during a binge. Seeing our heroes go is hard, but it's nice to finally see them (and the show) move on after all this time. We have so many memories to look back on, and now the show is set up for a bright future ahead!
Though I never kept up with the anime past the first season and the first movie, seeing Ash complete his journey still feels so agonizingly bittersweet; its like I'm grieving a major part of my childhood.
I remember I started with the Indigo league even when black and white was airing, I kept watching, and here we are now, my favorite moment is honestly…everything, im so glad I’ve experienced this with my friends and all of you, heres to hoping the next series is just as good as the ones before

When i was younger, i would spend every afternoon watching and re-watching old VHS tapes of Indigo League. I'm so sad to see them go, but I'm excited for what's ahead.
It's kind of sad that ash and pikachus chapters over. I was 2 years old when the pokemon anime came out. Now I'm turning 28 this year. I haven't watched the anime since I was a kid, but it's still really sad. It makes sense though considering they ran out of ideas after they finished the diamond and pearl series for ash (gen 5 was supposed to be a reboot but never happened)
We all know shes gonna get wrecked by that Ceruledge. But its still fine if she lost to a level 5 Snivy, cuz she just started her journey, plus that Grass Cat is level 5 too ( not like that Cat got a tie with Tobias LATIOS earlier )

To be completely honest. I dont think this is the final time we're gonna see him. I feel like him getting the shoes is a leading up to him going to the Region Scarlett and Violet take place. Maybe not as the main character but kinda like how Lance was used in the 1st and 2nd Generations. Or who knows? Maybe he will be a main character, just not as big of a role in the new region, kinda like a few episodes he helps out the new characters, and then disappears and then see him again, Kinda like Gary how he has made cameos through almost every generation of the anime

I'm confused, there was an episode after this one where ash meets a kid named Sonny who ends up being a ghost of a kid who died. Does that not count as Ash's final episode?
Ash's 26 year long journey has been a fun one, where we learned life lessons and met new people. But now Ash's legend has come to an end, now it's time for a new legend to begin.
Now that the 26th anniversary of the Pokemon anime is on the way, might I suggest a top 26 human characters list from the Pokemon anime? The list could feature main characters, travelling companions, gym leaders, rivals, champions, villains, basically every HUMAN character that has made more than one appearance throughout the Pokemon anime. This could be another collaborative list with other Poketubers like what you all did for the 25th anniversary (Top 25 anime battles).
Unfortunately, we have nothing planned for that currently. I know in the future, I will hope to work on similar ranking videos, especially now that the Ash Ketchum era of the anime is over, so we don't have to worry about new characters/moments getting added, I feel like now is the time to make these rankings of the first 26 years of the anime🎉
I feel like Ash will make a cameo in the new anime like we see people walking past and we see his shoes and Pikachu, that's the only reason I can think of for why they gave him new shoes in the last episode. Also do you think Ash will be the main character for movie 24 or will it be the new characters?
I'm really curious to see what direction they go with the movies. They haven't done one in over a year, which I'm guessing is thanks to the pandemic throwing everything off. They could keep using AU Ash, go a completely different route, or maybe just stop doing movies all together, idk how successful they are anyways
Never watched the anime seriously when I was a kid: wasn't broadcasted too often in my language so I merely watched it here and then but never followed the story. Couple of years ago I decided to give it a try and grabbed a season to watch in its entirely (the first of the D&P arc if I remember correctly, cause I like Piplup :3 ). It's made for kids, of course, but I quite enjoyed it nonetheless. Wanted to catch up to it, but it's not like I can justify watching 1200+ episodes so I haven't watched any more since. They're starting a completely new series, aren't they? Maybe I'll get to actually watch it proper. Does anyone else feel like that happens to you as well? Like, I wanted to watch popular animes like Dragon Ball Z and Naruto since my friends always talked about them as kids. But I was always like "nah, I'm not going to watch a bajillion episodes starting from the begging." So I feel like that made me miss a ton of experiences when I was younger. Maybe that's why I grew up to not like TV series in general... Anyways, I don't know why I'm ranting about this in a comment. Good recap Mark, I can't begin to imagine how Pokemon fans feel about it being really over now.
When I was 19 in college I had similar thoughts but said "1,200 episodes? Yeah, screw it, I'll go back and start at Episode 1😂" But I get your sentiment, I feel the same way about Dragon Ball, Naruto, and One Piece. For me, I am excited about the upcoming new series. The Pokémon anime is made for kids, but can be enjoyed by anyone. Seeing Ash leave was a long time coming, and while it's sad, I think it's time to move on and give everyone a fresh start

Well, that's what's going on here! The Pokémon Company are still doing that! They are doing Pokémon New Horizons without Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket in it. And that's why you guys keep getting the stupid theory about Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket leaving! When clearly, they are not! So, in Pokémon New Horizons- Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket won't be there. (Which is why you guys, think! That they are leaving when they are NOT!) But however, in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet anime series- Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket will be there! *So, inconclusion this is what the Pokémon Company does! They make a Pokémon Series without! Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket in it. And then, they make a new Pokémon Series with Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket in it! So therefore... Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket are NOT Leaving the Pokémon Series. They will just, be in a different Pokémon Series called: Pokémon Scarlet and Violet anime series. Considering, since the games came out so that's why! *So, each one of you Pokémon Fans need to relax, take a deep breath, and calm down. Because Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket are NOT Going anywhere.

This actually isn't the last episode. Unless Netflix pulled a trick on us Also I never saw the ending. What I saw ended before the rainfall part. I think I did some thing wrong. Any how the Last episode I saw involved Ash making a new friend, Failing to catch a Gyarados and solving a mystery wile reflecting on how nothing lasts for ever and you don't miss it till its gone and we should appreciate hat it existed at all. IDK why people are talking about an episode where team Rocket goes to Paldea or an ending where Ash is chased by Team Rocket in the end credits. I didn't see either of those Over all its the end. Idk, I just picked that number randomly. I'll try to name them 1. Ash and Pikachu leave the show 2. Pokemon Horizons is announced in English and gets new trailer worldwide 3. Team Rocket Reunites and resumes chasing Ash, alongside their old Pokémon 4. Pidgeot returns and rejoins Ash's team 5. Tracey has a speaking role in an episode 6. Tracey's Venonat evolved Those would be my top 6, but you could argue the order for sure
@@EliteTrainerMark I can agree with most of them (it's just the team rocket one though; the thing they did for them in my opinion was dumb). The English title name Horizons has a nice ring to it. And I kinda hoped maybe instead of Venonat evolving, it was Tracey's Scyther {I'm curious if evolving would help rejuvenate its fighting prowess, and/or since we see that Tracey's Scyther is quite older, if evolved what Old Scizor would look like/act}

I haven't seen any of the eps. But just from watching the summary. It's clear that host has no clue what he's talking about. There is nothing here indicating they're canceling the cartoon. Or its the last time bla bla bla. It's clearly setting up for the next adventure. Just like every single time. So I have no clue how host is thinking it's a conclusion.
Now Primeape is truly THE Ash's forgotten Pokémon. Butterfree doesn't count because it was released forever, but Primeape was only kept in training like Charizard. Sad he never came back to retrieve it.
@davion4777 Charizard and greninja should have played a much more prominent role throughout the final few series. They are his 2 most important Pokémon after pikachu after all.
I stopped watching Pokemon when the anime switched over to cable-only television back in season 9(?) in 2006. Reason being because I didn't grow up with cable television. Still, this was one of the very first cartoons I watched as a kid way back in 1998. Even after 26 years later, I still clearly remember the Kanto and Orange Island series so well! It really left an imprint on me, and I loved how the series in the late 90s wasn't afraid to be even just a bit edgy. Themes of animal cruelty from Butch and Cassidy's plans and Charmander's episode; actual potential dangers from traveling to qualify for the Elite 4, i.e. Pikachu being badly hurt during the episode when Ash found Squirtle. Just overall willing to even be just the slightest bit adult about certain themes while still being a children's show. I grew up with Ash and his crew of friends; or at least his friends up to the Advanced series with May and Max. They'll always have a place in my heart as a part of my childhood, even though I haven't watched the show since 2006. Yet despite that, the slight sting of Ash and Pikachu bowing out of the series does hurt a bit. And need I even mention Pikachu again? He's my absolute favorite Pokemon ever; Charizard is a close second what with his draconic styling! Now excuse me while I dig up my old fanfiction from years past and get back to work on it!
That's a good question... I think it will be 3-6 years before he makes an actual return, but maybe before then he will get referenced, or show up for like 2 seconds in the background or something
I’ve been watching this anime since 2003 according to my mother however the one I remember was the Diamond and Pearl Series from the year 2006 until March 24, 2023 ( April 8,2023 English version )
When you think about the anime and the games it makes sense, After completing the gym challenges, the battle towers, the battle frontiers, and all other post game battles, the player continues on to the next game or goes out and catch all the Pokemon in the current game and shiny hunt. Like Ash's journey our journey is on going, Rather you're still playing Sword and Shield or gone off to Scarlet or Violent.
That kid at the beginning of the episode was strange and unique encounter for ash. But Ash didn't even flinch when he realized he was a ghost. He talked more with him like a champ he is.. i hope they continue at least the movies with ash.

Anyways I have a hunch Ash and Pikachu will be the AI Robots down in Area Zero in place of The AI Professors whom are there too. AI Ash & AI Pikachu is the Final Battle in Paldea in order to stop The Time Machine. The AI Professors will be the ones excorting Liko & Friends out of Area Zero.... Providing only the fact this Show is not set a Hundred years after Ash's Journey. This also does not show us Arven's Paradigm but it remains to even be seen if he will be made Canon. Nemona is Canon so far so who knows but this show is supposed to be all over the Pokemon World and not just in Paldea so...
Let's welcome Liko and Roy in April and hope that they allow Satoshi to appear somehow, like as a television figure when Liko begins her journey maybe 🎉

Ash needed to be replaced. They can't cover any more regions with Ash as Champion of Alola, let alone The World Champion. No more gym challenges, No point of Ash even traveling to those regions thereafter.

I would like to start by saying I love yours and everybody else's anime reviews, and I can't wait to see this in the dub, speaking of that it feels like everybody says that the dub is terrible and the only way you can watch is subbed, However, I think a lot of people don't realize that some people cannot watch subs for one reason or another, I myself right and many others are blind or visually impaired and therefore have to wait for DVBBS. The Laitos and Latias arc ended up actually paying off in a way here. Because Latios didn't truly befriend Ash before he and Latias left, Ash knows he's still got ways to go for his goal.
That's a good point, one that I hadn't really picked up on until after I had recorded the voiceover for this review, but I totally agree. Ash is still hung up on Latios at multiple points in this episode, and it's because he didn't truly befriend it. That also makes more sense as to why the last episode ended the way it did, because I didn't really understand why they had Latios leave without fully accepting Ash. Now it all makes sense, having seen this last episode!

I just realized that Ash has been in the anime as long as I’ve been alive; 26 years. I’m turning 26 in a few days
I was so lucky to be 9 years old when the anime and games first came out, perfect age to grow up with it and see what it turned into.
Some of the stuff I absolutely loved.
1. I absolutely popped when pidgeot swooped in and saved the day, we finally got to see them back together at last.
2. I found it pretty hilarious how Wobbuffet was so worried and sad the whole time team rocket was "separated" and to see him get emotional when they were all back together even when they were blasting off carnivine and gourgeist all held hands ✋️ 😢
Watching the episode I was thinking "wait why Carnivine and Gourgeist" and then I was like ohhh they needed two Pokémon who could hold hands with Wobbuffet hahaha
Please, ask to the producers to put a scene with Ash reuniting with Serena in the episode 11 of "Aim to be a Pokémon Master"!
Team Rocket's final motto and Ash's final Thunderbolt call's animation was absolutely beautiful. They made both so expressive and honestly, it's understandable. This is the final time we will see both and they were absolutely amazing. Thank you Ash for all the fun times. (This isn't the last time I'll see him, I'm definitely rewatching all the previous seasons and movies but regardless, this episode made me cry. Especially when Type: Wild started playing).
That Type: Wild did hit different, idk why I didn't expect it. That final Thunderbolt -> blast off was perfect
That was an emotional whirlwind. What a full circle episode! Remember having the VHS of the first three episodes when I was a kid. I stopped watching after Pokemon left kids WB during the middle of Hoene. This episode had a ton of beautiful call back! What a great episode and touching conclusion.
I've been very on and off with the anime pretty much since the beginning. It started airing in the US a month before I was born, and my earliest memories are of watching pokemon 2000. I saw bits and pieces of the gen 1, 2,3, and 4 anime. Gen 5 I didn't watch at all, and gen 6 and 7 I only watched the finales. Journeys was the first time I saw a season through from beginning to end. Through it all, Ash has been there, and honestly, despite my on and off nature, I will miss him. But at the same time, I'm going into the new anime with an open mind and am ready for new adventures. Besides, you just know Ash will make more appearances, probably at least once every few years.
I have a lot of optimism for Pokémon Horizons, it will be sad to see Ash go but the future is bright

I haven't watched the Pokemon anime since the Sinnoh League and even those episodes I watched sparingly. I grew up watching Kanto and Johto. Every day after school I would watch Pokemon and sing a long to Pikachu's jukebox. Y'all remember Team Rocket's Double Trouble song? 😭 It was lit! And I know we all know the Pokemon rap!

I may not have watched the newer seasons or movies, but Pokemon is still part of my childhood and growing up.
Watching this video, seeing Ash and Pikachu's end, it was heartbreaking and did make me cry. It really felt like saying goodbye to an old friend. I didn't expect it to make me as emotional as it did, since I hadn't been keeping up with the series, but it really kinda broke my heart. But also bittersweet.

Thank you for this. I've watched all of the Pokémon anime, and even gone back and rewatched the stuff I saw as a kid. And when I'm rewatching the old stuff, Pikachu's Jukebox is *required* viewing, even during a binge.
Seeing our heroes go is hard, but it's nice to finally see them (and the show) move on after all this time. We have so many memories to look back on, and now the show is set up for a bright future ahead!
I just hope we get a " Red at Mt Silver " moment with ash in the future. Where he's older and has a run in with whatever current trainer there is.

Though I never kept up with the anime past the first season and the first movie, seeing Ash complete his journey still feels so agonizingly bittersweet; its like I'm grieving a major part of my childhood.
I remember I started with the Indigo league even when black and white was airing, I kept watching, and here we are now, my favorite moment is honestly…everything, im so glad I’ve experienced this with my friends and all of you, heres to hoping the next series is just as good as the ones before

When i was younger, i would spend every afternoon watching and re-watching old VHS tapes of Indigo League. I'm so sad to see them go, but I'm excited for what's ahead.
It's kind of sad that ash and pikachus chapters over. I was 2 years old when the pokemon anime came out. Now I'm turning 28 this year. I haven't watched the anime since I was a kid, but it's still really sad. It makes sense though considering they ran out of ideas after they finished the diamond and pearl series for ash (gen 5 was supposed to be a reboot but never happened)

To be completely honest. I dont think this is the final time we're gonna see him. I feel like him getting the shoes is a leading up to him going to the Region Scarlett and Violet take place. Maybe not as the main character but kinda like how Lance was used in the 1st and 2nd Generations. Or who knows? Maybe he will be a main character, just not as big of a role in the new region, kinda like a few episodes he helps out the new characters, and then disappears and then see him again, Kinda like Gary how he has made cameos through almost every generation of the anime

It's rumored a lost of videos on RUclips about Serena will return, but nothing she will be appear.
Now that the 26th anniversary of the Pokemon anime is on the way, might I suggest a top 26 human characters list from the Pokemon anime? The list could feature main characters, travelling companions, gym leaders, rivals, champions, villains, basically every HUMAN character that has made more than one appearance throughout the Pokemon anime. This could be another collaborative list with other Poketubers like what you all did for the 25th anniversary (Top 25 anime battles).
Unfortunately, we have nothing planned for that currently. I know in the future, I will hope to work on similar ranking videos, especially now that the Ash Ketchum era of the anime is over, so we don't have to worry about new characters/moments getting added, I feel like now is the time to make these rankings of the first 26 years of the anime🎉

Also do you think Ash will be the main character for movie 24 or will it be the new characters?
I'm really curious to see what direction they go with the movies. They haven't done one in over a year, which I'm guessing is thanks to the pandemic throwing everything off. They could keep using AU Ash, go a completely different route, or maybe just stop doing movies all together, idk how successful they are anyways

Never watched the anime seriously when I was a kid: wasn't broadcasted too often in my language so I merely watched it here and then but never followed the story. Couple of years ago I decided to give it a try and grabbed a season to watch in its entirely (the first of the D&P arc if I remember correctly, cause I like Piplup :3 ). It's made for kids, of course, but I quite enjoyed it nonetheless. Wanted to catch up to it, but it's not like I can justify watching 1200+ episodes so I haven't watched any more since. They're starting a completely new series, aren't they? Maybe I'll get to actually watch it proper.
Does anyone else feel like that happens to you as well? Like, I wanted to watch popular animes like Dragon Ball Z and Naruto since my friends always talked about them as kids. But I was always like "nah, I'm not going to watch a bajillion episodes starting from the begging." So I feel like that made me miss a ton of experiences when I was younger. Maybe that's why I grew up to not like TV series in general...
Anyways, I don't know why I'm ranting about this in a comment. Good recap Mark, I can't begin to imagine how Pokemon fans feel about it being really over now.

Remember, how the Pokémon Company did Pokémon Twilight Wings without Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket in it? And then, they did Pokémon Journeys with Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket. Well, that's what's going on here!
The Pokémon Company are still doing that! They are doing Pokémon New Horizons without Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket in it. And that's why you guys keep getting the stupid theory about Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket leaving! When clearly, they are not!
So, in Pokémon New Horizons- Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket won't be there. (Which is why you guys, think! That they are leaving when they are NOT!)
But however, in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet anime series- Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket will be there!
*So, inconclusion this is what the Pokémon Company does! They make a Pokémon Series without! Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket in it. And then, they make a new Pokémon Series with Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket in it!
So therefore... Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket are NOT Leaving the Pokémon Series. They will just, be in a different Pokémon Series called: Pokémon Scarlet and Violet anime series. Considering, since the games came out so that's why!

@@EliteTrainerMark I can agree with most of them (it's just the team rocket one though; the thing they did for them in my opinion was dumb). The English title name Horizons has a nice ring to it. And I kinda hoped maybe instead of Venonat evolving, it was Tracey's Scyther {I'm curious if evolving would help rejuvenate its fighting prowess, and/or since we see that Tracey's Scyther is quite older, if evolved what Old Scizor would look like/act}

I haven't seen any of the eps. But just from watching the summary. It's clear that host has no clue what he's talking about. There is nothing here indicating they're canceling the cartoon. Or its the last time bla bla bla. It's clearly setting up for the next adventure. Just like every single time. So I have no clue how host is thinking it's a conclusion.
Now Primeape is truly THE Ash's forgotten Pokémon. Butterfree doesn't count because it was released forever, but Primeape was only kept in training like Charizard. Sad he never came back to retrieve it.

I stopped watching Pokemon when the anime switched over to cable-only television back in season 9(?) in 2006. Reason being because I didn't grow up with cable television. Still, this was one of the very first cartoons I watched as a kid way back in 1998.
Even after 26 years later, I still clearly remember the Kanto and Orange Island series so well! It really left an imprint on me, and I loved how the series in the late 90s wasn't afraid to be even just a bit edgy. Themes of animal cruelty from Butch and Cassidy's plans and Charmander's episode; actual potential dangers from traveling to qualify for the Elite 4, i.e. Pikachu being badly hurt during the episode when Ash found Squirtle. Just overall willing to even be just the slightest bit adult about certain themes while still being a children's show.
I grew up with Ash and his crew of friends; or at least his friends up to the Advanced series with May and Max. They'll always have a place in my heart as a part of my childhood, even though I haven't watched the show since 2006. Yet despite that, the slight sting of Ash and Pikachu bowing out of the series does hurt a bit.
And need I even mention Pikachu again? He's my absolute favorite Pokemon ever; Charizard is a close second what with his draconic styling! Now excuse me while I dig up my old fanfiction from years past and get back to work on it!

I’ve been watching this anime since 2003 according to my mother however the one I remember was the Diamond and Pearl Series from the year 2006 until March 24, 2023 ( April 8,2023 English version )
When you think about the anime and the games it makes sense, After completing the gym challenges, the battle towers, the battle frontiers, and all other post game battles, the player continues on to the next game or goes out and catch all the Pokemon in the current game and shiny hunt.
Like Ash's journey our journey is on going, Rather you're still playing Sword and Shield or gone off to Scarlet or Violent.
