Awesome video Tofer, thanks for letting me get to play this thing early! Seems like and amazing pick up for the price, especially if you're into Gameboy and GBC like me! Thanks for catching my good side B)
I got the GameStop edition for myself, and an orange for my sister. Can’t wait to try it out myself. I really like my Analogue Pocket. But I’m super excited for the experience on this new device.
Thanks for covering this amazing device. I enjoyed hearing the lore of that Mario statue. I pre-ordered the Game Stop as my Christmas present and hope I get to open it early.
I bought A blue one for myself, and 2 more for gifts! I'm soldering new batteries in all my game cartridges this week. I bought a matching color Pelican 1120 Case with foam for it. I've been going to my retro game stores to buy a bunch of Gameboy games. I'm Pumped!
First off that’s an amazing store, very jealous, wish we had one like that nearby. Anyways, I absolutely love playing the Analogue Pocket and it’s been my go to for just about all of my classic/retro gaming but the ModRetro Chromatic caught my eye and I’m a sucker for options so after checking out their website and many reviewer vids including yours I decided to preorder the Midnight and Logan Paul colorways. Really looking forward to seeing and playing it.
Nope. I think stuff like this is REALLY important for the retro community that’s into this stuff. We need more of this. I don’t plan on beating this drum❤
How do you rate the color accuracy? Thats what i want to know how close to 100% are the colors being displayed by the Chromatic, compared to an original gbc outside with the sun?
I’m glad you brought this up. Because this screen is THE reason I fell in love with it. The color accuracy is by a long shot the best I’ve seen. And I own just about all of the other devices. This screen is flawless.
@@RogerEssigArtistit really is. I understand this may come off as an ad of some kind but it really is something special. Its a hard thing to convey in a world full of high res screens
Could of just been a preference not to go with oled but also custom making an oled with the same resolution would of been super high im sure as I dont think there are alot of oled panel makers to begin with. Either way oled would of still looked good because of the ability to individualy control the pixels. It would of just made that pixel grid effect look way better where ips you cant really control individual pixels and because of the backlight you probably get light bleed through the pixels so the effect is not as great as with oled. The space between those pixels could of been turned off and been completely back so the effect would of looked way more pronounced. The contrast would of also been way better.
@ Don’t forget that OLED is susceptible to fading if left in even non-direct sunlight due to the organic compounds used with the tech. Today’s OLED panels are absolutely not built to last.
Not necessarily true i have an oled tv ive had for a few years that still works perfectly fine. If you understand how the panel works then you can get alot of life out of it. Also as far as going outside with a premium 200 gameboy that has sapphire glass that may be highly scratch resistant but believe me is not shatter resistant. Yeah i would probably be just playing indoors anyways. Wouldn't want it to get scratched up or damaged especially also since this console will be somewhat a limited edition.

Anytime!
Castlevania 3, definitely my go to on the NES and always a challenge every time you come back to it even if you know what to expect!
Very excited for mine to get here. Got the blue one.
Awesome! Great color!
hard to decide! I chose orange.
I chose green and blue for my stepson

Dude get some contact cleaner and q-tips for those carts. You don't want any old residue/gunk transferring to your new Chromatic.
Palmer will probably rock up to that store one day
I pre-ordered the GameStop exclusive Chromatic 😊
Im hyped to get mine. I ordered the black and got my son the green one.

Awesome video, dope store, sick gameboy color/Mod Retro-Chromatic. Definitely a great buy.
Ive been watching your coverage on this device for a bit now and I am so stoked for my Koss Heaphones and Gamestop Exclusive colorway to come in!
Ordered two GameStop versions! 😅 Wanted two Chromatics, didn't care much about the color, and wanted the free shipping.
That’s awesome! Link cable??
@tofer.A You know it.
I got one as well but pre ordered in store for full experience lol I will get to pick it up there
WHERE DID YOU GET THAT COAT!?!? Want. Waannnnt. “You’re jacket is now dry” 😂

That’s a big ass store!!!! 😮
Is this an infomercial? 🥴

Sure feels like a shill to me
Guys jacket looks like its from 2015😂
If it does not play gameboy advance games, I DONT WANT IT 😂

@@tofer.A looks like its time for me to go pre order one. Palmer should work on a new crt tv display. I feel that would sell like hot cakes.

the body did!
@ Fair point it was just the screen that cracked 😅.
Well I like and enjoy mine way too much to try 😂
@@RogerEssigArtistthe body didn’t really “survive”. Sure it didn’t shatter, but it bent enough to the point where the power switch couldnt move
@RockYoMomsWorld ah, true
I wish the screen was bigger!
Would of liked oled instead of ips. A custom oled would of even been better!
I wonder if it was considered and what is the exact reason they chose what to manufacture for the screen.
Honestly, if it would've been better they would've gone with OLED, but they didn't. Cost has never been a concern when producing these bad boys.
