one hitting max level soldiers from full health should not be a thing. On reaction especially. Requiem Mechapeeds and Legats are not fun. You did everything without any mistakes - and that's your result. A bad pod activation is likely a squad wipe. This is too much
Yeah i get being overly cautious, but the legate is going to kill you in one shot anyway, so letting him take 15 shots when we had the guaranteed kill just doesn't make sense. Especially when % means nothing in XCOM
This is a perfect example of why the "neutralize all enemy targets" objective needs to be removed or revamped. There is no tactical or strategic reason for all the enemies to die. The objective was to destroy the doohickey. It's done, GTFO. Remaining on the field does nothing but put lives at risk for no reason.
Ye that’s cements it for me the Legates are just not a reasonable unit in the same way as the Mechapede isn’t. I’d have no issue with the shots hitting, I do statistics for work, it happens but just one shot kills high rank top armoured units and takes 2-4 rounds to kill with the damage reduction etc just no it’s OP for the game mechanics.
The legate and the mechapede are the only reason to even watch the campaign. Did you see the rest of the battle? His living units are so broken that activating 10+ enemies at once, on accident, leaves them all dead or damaged with stuns on the rest. Chosen are a joke, exalt doent matter, everything else dies in 1 or 2 hits. If you nerf the only units that can pose a challenge, the campaign might as well just be over.
I'm in agreement with Deadput, something needs to contest with some of Odd's soldiers (I'm looking at you Oscuridad). IMO this season has seen some of the most broken classes ever. OP abilities with zero drawbacks. Obv I don't want him to squad wipe (or do I) or flat out fail the campaign but ugh, while it sucks to see soldiers die to OP enemies, it's a little boring when it's stomp stomp stomp due to broken soldiers.
On the other hand, it's rather exciting to see that the broken soldiers are not invulnerable either. Odd's dealt with Legates with little issue in the past so their hardly impossible to deal with. Odd made it harder on himself by not killing the Sidewinder thus Legate passives remained.
Speak for yourself. I was on the edge of my seat this mission. I love that there's still a chance these OP soldiers can die. It makes the campaign a lot more exiting IMO.
Hard disagree. I find it more fun to watch the drama, and fear of loss. It sucks when it happens, but it also makes you remember that even the most OP soldiers can still die. Snow Queen was near untouchable, until she wasn't. Oscuridad is still nearly immortal, and even has a trick to avoid death. So, we will see what happens next. This was an exciting mission. I am just sad that no memorial pics came up after.
Whenever Odd mentions how his crew size is a problem or that he needs to dismiss soldiers…he magically finds space!

Legate should really get a nerf... it just not fun to fight them
As a viewer it also isn't fun to watch the most broken soldiers in this channels history remain uncontended.
No it shouldn't
It is right where it should be. It is the only thing that challenges anyone this season.
Spoiler
3% Death shot is the best kind of Xcom content, that IS Xcom in it's finest. Still Rip Snow Queen and Melk.
That's xcom baby...
I'm devastated.
You've had like what, 2 or 3 bleed outs on your units the whole campaign? Is something broken? Is something changed? Why does it barely proc anymore?
It's sort of boring with this enemy.
On the other hand, it's rather exciting to see that the broken soldiers are not invulnerable either.
Odd's dealt with Legates with little issue in the past so their hardly impossible to deal with. Odd made it harder on himself by not killing the Sidewinder thus Legate passives remained.
I agree. Legate sucks the fun from the missions for me
@@DeadputI half expected Oscuridad to kill it in a single overwatch.
Wow. 2 full suppressions and a 41% to hit, still got the 26% crit for 1 more than her entire total health+ armor. What a bastard roll.
That's such a big loss too.
