Okay. We watch you guys . We are the parents of Nick and Katie Shaw and friends of Robby Layton. Please put more of Grandma on there…. She makes my day! Does she crochet? Even my husband like seeing her show up with good. I like to see her with the grandkids too. Go grandma!!
Yes grandma is a great friend. She’s also a great artist, homemaker, Gardner. My Hunter boy is in good hands. Happy New year to the village famous family.
GRAMMA IZ AWESOME SAUCE FOR REAL...THE TRUE LEADER OF THR RATSS PAK FOR SURE....GOD BLESS GRAMMA ALWAZE
Your mom reminds me of my mom . It's really cool that she's part of the show .. Cherish this time you have with her because when she's gone she's gone forever. I miss my mom every day ....
I was over by 2lbs!!! If only it had another 1/4 gallon of gas in the tank I’d have nailed it. Congrats Mr. Pickle!
I believe that’s pronounced ‘Pick-kell!’
Your Mom is the coolest. She was super kind when I had a question about the fan page. Thanks again. SSG.Bo.Retired.
Let me just say Ben is the perfect fit in the Fab Rats dynamic, he is warm, authentic, and very competent. He makes a great show even better, brilliant move!!!
WATCHING & LISTENING YA"LL REMINDS ME OF AN OLD WRESTLER WHO APPROACHED HIS OPPONENT KINDA LIKE YA"LL APPROACH YOUR PROJECTS. YA"LL ANALYZE IT, TANTALIZE IT, THEN PULVERIZE IT INTO SHAPE. DETROIT ENGINEERS AIN'T GOT NOTHING ON YA"LL , YOU SLICE , DICE THEN MAKE IT ALL REAL NICE !!!!! 👍👍👍 REALLY ENJOY THE CHANNEL. KEEP'EM COMING
Paul's swat at the end was perfect and Michele's response was even better!
I'm 79, pushing 100, I dnk if I'll live long enough to see the great tow truck build off finished!
😂😂
@Chubb Rock we can laugh Chubb, last spring I went to Matt's, met Lizzie, Hefee and Ed. Pics of all, and big tow truck.maybe go back spring 2023. Retired soil l make trip to Robby Laytons, Fab Rats and Matt's to recreat my u tube vacation. Lol!
Protect Mom at all costs. What an awesome Leader. You guys are lucky having your family around to assist and give importance to what you do. Family is #1 and you guys have your priorities completely Perfect. Thanks for letting us watch your craft!
Love that little slap and “OK” by Michelle. Too funny. Great video as always. Thank you 😊
Plus the looks on both Matt and Rudy's faces right after
Glad to see Paul using a Face Shield. In my maintenance career and daily grinding, I went to a face shield and never went back to safety glasses. Now if I can get you to use Howard Leight Quiet Band type hearing protection. No more dirty fingers compressing the foam earplugs.
It ain’t a fabricating channel without the staple of welding something, while holding it, with no eye pro and gloves.
God bless.
@16:30 I'm loving the split screen showing Paul and Ben working separately, but on the same screen.. Great editing Michelle! Happy 2023 to the entire Fab Rats team ✌
NO NO NO, 1 screen at a time, easier montage and LONGER VIDEOS
The split screen is really cool to see two different parts of the project going at once.
😲 did fabrats get a new camera, hd and pixels are nice and bright. Good job 👌 happy new year to you all.
Paul and Ben, your mother is priceless! I love her, she's such a positive person!
So great seeing Rudy and Matt together at the end!
Best thing from 2022 was finding this crew .
-EXACTLY AND LOOK AT SUBS...WENT UP CONSIDERABLY SINCE THIS TIME LAST YEAR....CONSIDERABLY IZ BLOWING UP UTUBE....EXCELLENT JOB FAM OF RATSS...
The little rc cars are always fun. Had one just like it set up to do 75. Been doing custom airbrushed body's for a while now. Almost every rc I own is set up with a killer paint job. Expensive hobby, but nothing else makes a man feel like a kid again quite like rc cars.
Oh, that's what Paul meant...cold and warm weather doors. Nice. Also better for when videos are being taken🤩
Happy New Year to all
Like the look of the half doors. I vote for recessed cup holders when you cap the top of them.
I like how Paul's mom is there watching her husbands truck get some TLC and some FabRats touches to it from their sons. That is one solid truck. That wrecker competition is gonna be something exciting to watch.
A door tip for next time, if you cut the inside section but leave the outer skin in place without cutting it so you can fold it under and weld it or use panel bond. That stuff is amazing with projects like the doors saves hours if not days welding! With panel bond you want to leave or make a little edge or a lip so you have surface area to bond to. The ending is all the same so that's all that really matters but thought I would share some different ways to do it if ever needed or anybody else building some stuff!!
We all learn as we go. Great suggestion, though, sheet metal is so tedious as it is!
Yep, but they should have sectioned the inner door so they use the original bottom and shorten it by taking a chunk out of the middle, weld the inner door bottom back on, then fold the door skin over the inner door just like the original.
@@joequixotic3039 Cut a section out of the middle? I guess you didn't notice the location of the hinges.
Panel bond is a great product, strong but a little pricey. It does save a lot of time and in my opinion is stronger, if you use it right, because it bonds the whole length of the panel whereas the spot welds are spaced apart and don't. I used it most of the time for bedsides, quarter panels and roofs. I had to replace the same bedside twice on the same truck and it took twice as long to get the panel bonded one off than the OEM spot welded one because it was so strong. The insurance companies expect spot welds up the back of bedsides and quarter panels thinking, I guess, that it is stronger. I did for a while but quit because I disagree. It sands like filler which also saves time. It's even NASCAR approved, I wouldn't be afraid to glue a whole car (sheet metal) together with it, even the bolted on ones. I would feel sorry for the guy that would try and take it apart if it needed a panel again later on.
I remember years ago when Michael Waltrip hit the end of the outside wall at the added gate head on at top speed. The only thing that survived besides Michael was the hood which was panel bonded.
If Fab Rats caught on to panel bond there would be no stopping them. I've even used it to make bushings for Packard vent windows. Carved a mold out of Styrofoam, squirted it into the rough mold, then machined the casting to size. You do what you have to do.
Ben's sense of humor has always been great, but now he has the twisted and dry wit that I truly appreciate.
In fact, all y'all are a well oiled, cohesive crew. So much fun to watch.
I love that the Rat rod tow truck is getting door's both summer and winter! Now Ben installed the tilt steering wheel and soon you'll be waiting for Chad's Fabs to do the wiring.
Mr. Paul, I loved the tap at the very end…. 😂. It sounded like Mrs. Paul was about to give you a mild scolding for that public display of affection . Keep up the fun and great content.
The doors are looking good. Won't be long now the rat rod wreaker is taking shape. Happy new year!
No body better mess with Grandma Lolly. She swings a mean wrecking bar! Happy New Year!
You're killing me here Paul, first of all it was those perfectly good fenders, now doors that aren't completely rusted out at the bottom. Good Square body parts are getting really harder to find up here in the Pacific North Wet. As hard to find as 33x12.50x16.5 tires. And evidently when Dad ordered this 75 C-20 new from the factory, he went with the double rust option to go with the hood bend option.
Paul, you will want to put drains in the bottom of the doors so rain water that gets past lower window seal can drain out.
Happy New Year!!
I Enjoy your channel!!
Kinda reminds me of what my grandpa said to me one day- we'd been working on a project for a few hour's and having trouble with it all day when out of the blue he says to me( dadgonit I've cut this three times and it's still too short)!! I almost died laughing😆😆😆 then he was so mad at me he turned red literally! I looked at him and he was serious and I say( did you just hear yourself?) He gave me this perplexed look and I repeated what he said- he stood there for about a minute then burst out laughing! I was rolling so hard I had tears rolling down my face!😆😆😆
Best rc channels on RUclips:
Thunder rc, rich duperbash
and bars&tone rc. They all do amazing things with rc cars and also very helpful answering questions and stuff. The tekno et48 2.0 is my favorite rc car by a mile.
Nice video and loved the boat giveaway
This build is the one I look forward to the most each week just the story of this truck alone and all it’s transformations is badass. Your kids will keep this truck going after you as well
I just want to say how appreciative I am of all the filming/editing work you guys are doing to put out videos every couple days. Great for me cuz I can't get enough of them 😀
I almost feel guilty, when I was down with busted ankle/surgery watched this and Matt as soon as they dropped, now I'm building a K10, and working get to both usaly same day but...
They need a Hunter twin so they could get two for the price of one and film Ben and Paul doing what their doing at the same time
Classic last seconds again like Matt's, Rudy's, Merlins and Rory!
Keep up the good work all through 2023!
i think you should put cup holders in the high parts of the half doors,,I think that would be handy and neat
Paul and ben you guys are doing some crazy work but youre awesome. Working on the golden nugget build and now the tow trk. You guys have a wealth of knowledge and parts. Ive been very impressed. The tow trk is looking great
Paul..the amount of thinking that goes through your brain when your Fabricating is just amazing...I am jealous of the things you guys get to work with..it's my dream job..
Do It For Dale
You and walter make awsome vids no one can fault a person for learning we learn every day of our lives
Nice to see Hunter in front of the camera more....he is learning! Happy New Year!
Great editing Michelle. I like the split screen action
Hahah. Got to love the weight reveal. That was fun to watch. Great work guys. Keep it up. Hopefully you can create and quick pin system to switch out your doors faster. Love Watching you guys. Happy new years all!!
Cool build, can't wait to see the Wrecker Competition, and who wins. It should be Epic.
Great content. I have been excited to see more toe truck build
7:40, Paul, Paul, instead of cutting off the bottom of the door, you could have folded them up and in and used them for hems or brackets?😮
Good to see the cab finally "dried in". It's cool to see you go ahead and get both sets of doors done.
Paul your fabricating skills are top notch, and your eyecromater is close enough to get the job done. Along with your Brother Ben by your side who i must say is just as skilled, you guys could build anything! Team Fab Rats with Michelle's editing Carter's filming, Grandma's cooking and keeping you all in line, having the kids in the shop doing their thing, the collaborating with some of the best other You Tubers is what makes your channel the best! Have a great and Happy New Year. Til next time take care...
I like the split screen. Thanks for the laughs 😅
Happy New Year's everyone 🎈🎉🎉 Truck is coming right along them half doors are gonna look so cool when they are done .
I love Grandma. She makes me remember mine both sides great and unique ladies!
Very nice wonder if you could put a cup holder in the half door just a thought .Well done guy's and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all .Oh yes great work done on the editors though the year well done gals
It took me 47 years working on them trucks to realize it’s easier to put door on first adjust it then fender happy new year to all the gang at fab rat
I swear that I'd watch your videos even if they were 2 hours long! Darned enjoyable! Happy New Year! God bless.
Hey Michelle. I noticed when Paul was unboxing some fan mail I saw and address. Hopefully that's just a PO box but might want to blurr that if not. But other than that loved the vid!
HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL! MOVING WRIGHT ALONG ON THE WRECKER! GOD BLESS!
Paul, the last 5 seconds of the video was awesome👍We all saw Michelle saying okay, but we all know that she was thinking save that for later babe😂😂😂
Happy new year.....the outro was amazing !!... excellent video guys....great job on doors...editing Awsome as usual....thanks for sharing this with us
On the half doors, top latch opener, and don’t forget to put in the cup holder. Best thing I did on my half doors.
Well that’s strange Paul is wearing a safety shield and gloves when using the death wheel. Great way to start the new year. 🎉
3/4 inch plywood. Worked on M151 "jeeps" in Korea. Good stuff again. Really like Hunter's video work. Give him a raise.
I have a little chihuahua/weiner dog mix, his body hair is short, his tail is bushy, one eye is smaller and lower than the other, his paws are different sizes. His name is Nuck but I occasionally call him Pablo (after Picasso). He sorta reminds me of this truck. This thing is looking awesome.
You guys did a fantastic thing recovering the boat and reuniting it with the family that lost it. Best RUclips event of 2022. Carry on!
Just got it put together to take apart again. Poor Landon.
All 4 doors are looking mighty fine!!!!!!!
You and Matt both made size matter. I love the worlds largest off road tow truck.its a large truck. Paul your truck will be able to get up sketchy skinny trails. With a boom on the back . Tow truck Olympics is going to be awesome.
Nice job by the editors on this one! I love the split view of the simultaneous projects!
Likely it's Michelle.
Absolutely love the split screen!!!! Thank you; Love the way you work. Iterations are the key to solving problems. One small step at a time.
Congrats Stuart! Looks like we're in for a series of winter storms here in Northern Az/Southern Utah. Maybe we'll get some water back in the area lakes. We sorely need it! Stay warm and safe travels to all my favorite RUclips channels: Rudy, Matt, Paul, Michelle, Robby, Rory and Co. Happy New Year!
Been loving watching the wrecker builds by both you and Matt. Just an idea, fab cup holders into the top of the half doors big enough to hold a Dew or Gatorade (deep enough too so beverages don't get thrown out on the rough stuff).
Happy new year to the Fab rats family and team.
Paul, don't forget to have a few drain holes in the bottom of those doors or it won't be rattles you'll be looking for. It'll be the sloshing sound and it won't be mountain dew in a can.
Regards from Canada's banana belt.
👍❄️🇨🇦🍌🥋🇺🇲🕊️🇺🇦🤞
Is it true that Canada’s Banana Belt starts at Moosonee, ON?
@@whammond511 you must be kidding. They'd be bloody frozen from October to about June. No, where I live is south of some of the US states in southwestern Ontario about 50 miles from Detroit. We get precious little snow before Christmas, a White one if we're lucky, and our flowers start blooming in early April. And then it gets hot and humid. Hence banana weather but we don't actually grow them outdoors. I've seen them in a local green house but I think they were looking after them for some local millionaire while they wintered in Florida.
Pretty cool.
Might be a bit over the top, but 70s model corvette outside door handles have the right linkages for your half doors. You know, the ones you push down on to open the door. When you push down the linkage pulls up.
If you were in New York the doors would’ve been rotted to the rite length lol
Yeah, but from the bottom up 😂🤣😂….
big Scott- Formerly of NY, now in Ohio.
Yep
Pennsylvania too lol
Nothing like a welfare state and their thieves.
Buffalo, NY
Clinton empire state of pedaphiles
And Illinois
Happy New Year to you and your family. Great job on the wrecker doors . You may want to add a couple of drain holes to the bottom plates of those doors ... just saying . Cheers!
For a perfectly straight cutline on an irregular shape like a door, set the door in a kiddie pool, stock tank, or similar vessel, square and level it, fill with water to the cutline, then dust the waterline with spray paint, TA-DA! A perfect line! A bit tedious on setup, but perfect results. Try it!
Fun episode... I was laughing thinking that might be the last time Jas leaves his truck in the shop... Comes back and Paul has had Ben steal the steering column out of it for the wrecker... Lesson learned... LOL Happy New Year
Proudly watching MAGICIANS at work!
Happy New Year, you all. That's a pretty good idea with them half doors .
The "split screen / two things happening at the same time thing" is very innovative.
Happy New Year to you all the awesome teams! Can hardly wait to see what you all do this year!
Instead of the coat of many colors,Fab Rats has the Rod of many colors.Theres a ballad in there somewhere!
Great video and great job with your wrecker and I think manual windows would be better than electric, just one more thing to short out God bless and happy new year to you and your family and crew and God bless from GA
Power windows let the cooler air In faster
Pwr winders are great for when yer stuck in the Crick an’ a Flash Flood heads yer way…gives ya one more source to e-lec-tro-cute yerself!!
Power windows are when you're going down the road or trail and it's extremely hot and your ac isn't working properly than you can roll the windows down quickly
I think you should integrate rifle scabbards into those half doors. ;-)
Happy New Years! to all of Fab Rats & Family! love watching y'alls builds
So, when you cut the half door, a latch solution popped into my head. Maybe you can use a 70's Corvette door "handle". They mount on top (you need to make a top deck anyway) and push into the door. I'm sure you're familiar, being a Chevy guy. I'm not sure how linkages might work, but the door handle would be perfect.
great work guys. Love the videos Happy New Year!
Paul, your engineering skills amaze me. You are on par with all of the engineers from East St Louis, Illinois.
Always fascinating watching the progress and process on your builds. Maybe you covered it and I just missed it, but do your doors need weep holes for water to get out? Trimming the bottoms off eliminated the typical factory ones.
Paul says "You can worry a thing to death or you can just get it done." That's my issue, I tend to suffer from "analysis paralysis" and it takes me 3 days to do a 30 minute job.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Love watching your videos 🐀
Fab rats hoping that you have a very happy new year and keep your RUclips going strong.
Hello Fab Rats, just wanted to say Happy New Years and I am looking foreword to the new year with your family and the content you all bring us.
Hey, you are cutting most of the rust off the door too. Win Win! I fast forward through a lot of body repair and boring build videos. Your editor removes a lot of boring footage and includes lots of funny stuff you guys say so you keep it light! Love your videos and your work. You guys are wizards with Box Body Chevys, Well, all Chevy Pick ups really!
Seeing Paul measuring and cutting and fitting and more cutting really was... a-door-able. 😂😁😇🤟
Happy New Year and off to an awesome 2023! 😎
“a-door-able”! Bwahahaha!!
Hi grandma. I notice when there is a blizzard with travel advisories Paul says I better wear a turtle neck and she says I better put a coat today. Uncle Ben still in his favorite F.R. short sleeve with a pocket just says, I’m good. ❤
Great video!!! You guys never cease to amaze me with your fabrication skills. I would never have undertook all that door mod. project. Let alone the half-door project. Great job!! Ben you are indispensable shop person. Whatever needs done you're right on it and you do an excellent job!! Hunter, your camera work is pretty darn good too!! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL THE FAB RAT CREW!!!!
Happy Healthy New Year to the whole bunch of you all. 👍
Curious if you considered some type of barrel quick release type hinge -- quicker to remove or install the doors or able to leave them off?
Those doors were a hell of a puzzle! Nothing the Fab Rats couldn't handle though. I still can't get over how amazing that rack/roll bar combo came out!
In the spirit of the bigger snows this year, I think a snowcat build would be cool…has to out perform Matt’s too…
A mini snow cat would be awesome and I bet its not hard to find cats in there state and close by
Robby Layton found one, check out his first recovery
Matt has one and Robbie has on and Rory don't need one. Ha!
@@nocrackhere If Paul gets one, Rory will be Recovery-Shamed into getting one as well!!
But then Rory will build himself a Rock-Crawling “Spider” and the others will be forced to follow suit!!
