@@SahilP2648 it is odd. It seems to be draining fast by looking at the icon, but it lasts longer then expected. Said that the M1 lasts much longer. Surface Pro 8 does not last for a full day of work.
I currently have an 8 yo ipad that's on the fritz. I've been wanting a hybrid and have had my eye on the surface pro for a really long time now. It was your video that finally convinced me to get one. Here's to hoping it will also last 8+ years!
A device that lags and is unresponsive to touch input. Not to mention the Ntrig tech is flawed. Surface pen strokes suffer from crazy jitter when the screen gets hot or when the device is plugged into an outlet, which is all the time because it’s running a full blown OS with lackluster cooling for the sake of aesthetics.
“Wanting” you to buy both, and having you *actually* buy both are two different things. If products like the Surface Pro serve both needs, people will start to abandon the Apple products for one’s like Microsoft’s. That’s shaky ground to be on.
@@Akella1986 They will not what? Bend laptop and tablet? Depends what is meant by that. They’re already well on their way by bringing mouse/trackpad support and a windowing system. All they need to do is drop the pro apps or give us macOS and the blend is pretty much complete.
Great to hear your thoughts. I bought a Surface Pro 8 in preference to an iPad Pro because I think the iPad costs too much for what it does. The iPad might be a bit nicer to hold and it might have a brighter screen but it’s got all the limitations you mention. The Surface Pro 8 may not be the best tablet or the best laptop that the same money will buy but, for me, it is easily is good enough at everything it does. That means I only need one device - and that is great for travel. So, on my last trip, I left my M1 Macbook Pro at home and, aside from that awesome battery life, I didn’t miss it at all. In fact, the Pro8 battery life is pretty impressive.
I have to keep my M1 MacBook Air around (but don’t have to take it with me often) due to it being required to publish App Store apps. I only really use it otherwise when I need amazing battery life. Otherwise I use my Pro 8. I feel like the pro 8 is finally close to really replacing an iPad Pro properly now that the new gestures and taskbar are coming, so I’ll probably finally get rid of my 11” iPad Pro 2018 and use the Pro 8 for 90% or more of my computing
I have been using a MacBook Pro 16 and Ipad pro and wasn't getting the portability I was looking for to still have a full operating system and the portability of an Ipad. the Microsoft surface pro 8 has made this super easy to carry around and do the things I need a PC for on the go. I didn't want to go to windows but this device is a game changer. Love this device and have not used my Ipad or MacBook since I purchased this.
Thank you for your practical insight. You have experienced both sides and have a REAL experience on the technology instead of other YT who just hype things up. Respect to you and the channel. Subbed!
Glad to hear this....similar story to mine...returned my ipad pro 12.9 M1 because, besides better res, it really doesn't do anything more or significantly better than my existing 2018. Then came surface pro 8 and I found myself using it all the time. It may not be the most powerful, but it sits at a sweetest spot where it does everything for me and does it well. I bought ipad mini around the same time as I thought it's betrayal to complertey forgo using apple, but all I really use it is for reading and youtube binging. Surface Pro 8 has now become my daily driver. Combine it with Microsoft's 4K wireless display driver and I have it on my projector or TV when I want to go big wirelessly. Then throw in the surface duo 2 with 'my phone' app, and Surface Pro 8 is really all I ever need. I guess, I am a convert after being an apple person for decades. There is just so much more that I can do with surface devices and even android, than I ever could with iOS/iPadOS. Notwithstanding number crunching, I must admit that there is something about Surface devices that I actually enjoy and love using them.
I got the same spec device to replace both an ageing iPad and also an ageing i7 6700K powered desktop. Got to say I'm absolutely blown away by it. I can do work at home or at my desk or on the road and my stuff is always with me. No shuffling files between disks or the cloud, no organising different workspaces. It's just like always having my desktop setup with me everywhere...because that's what I do have. Love it
Only because of your video, I have bought the surface pro 8. I am really AMAZEEED from this machine. The fact that you can control the mixer manually through ableton, read sheet music in a bright and visible screen through mobile sheets, and ACTUALLY RUN OS plugins such as-superior drummer 3, omnisphere and etc. Is the best thing I had ever dreamt of. I remember telling myself "with this device, i feel like i'm in the future"
@@Michael-vf5id I'm in love with this device, and I wish I bought it sooner. I have the i7 with the 32GB RAM. It is really powerful, and using it as a sheet music viewer, and ALL I can say, is that it's working perfectly fine, and in the worst case scenerio- I have a warranty for a replacement(paid extra). What are your goals with this device?
i have one since March and I love it. Using it as a tablet for handwriting during lectures and as a full PC when back home. If I ever need more graphics power, there is always the option of plugging in an external GPU via thunderbolt 4.
I really like how you explained the advantages of surface pro 8. I bought one and I am enjoying how easy to carry it and it is powerful laptop and tablet. Thanks
I have a Macbook Air as my personal laptop and a microsoft surface pro 7+ for work and like you, I was blown away by how easy it is to handle as a laptop and as an ipad. It is very travel friendly and it fits in most of my handbags. Im in love with it and now im thinking about selling my own macbook air and buying a surface pro 8 for myself as personal laptop. If I do so...i think next step would be getting rid of my ipad air or buying a mini-ipad instead. Overall i think its a great product.
This is sooo helpful , i been stuck over what to buy the mac pro or the ipad and i also wanted what the windows offered and this review just makes so much sense !! Thank you so much for this
I couldn’t agree more. Been using the SP4 for 6 years now. Done audio production, recording, mixing, photo editing, some light video editing and gaming.. still going strong as my main office pc for when I’m out and at home with the dock and 2 extra monitors. Also have an iPad Pro which I had to get for work. Nowhere near the versatility and general usefulness. The ipad is mainly a very expensive, glorified notepad and RUclips machine for me.
You are right. I’m going to do the same from just a slight different production perspective: publishing ebooks, audiobooks, a bit of programming with WSL, note taking and using the stylus on pdfs, office, upload videos, preparing courses, etc. etc. It seems to me a much more rational one-device strategy.
ITS JUST THAT, I want this type of device because i think that this is the future, no one can say that the surface pro 8 is not the future, because it is very powerfull and beautifull!
Hey Dylan ❤ After you made me fall in love with this thing I bought an old secondhand surface pro 5 as a test device. I need windows for my main income and was getting tired of having a MacBook Pro, iPad mini, iPhone to tether internet to -> windows lenovo thinkpad, a portable modem etc. I was carrying too many devices just so I could run my business using teamviewer on an apple device.. stupidest thing I ever done. The surface pro 5 has a sim card slot and doesn't even have internal fans. I can tune engines using it all day long, and the cpu percentage is no different to the M1 MacBook Pro. I sold the MacBook Pro a few days ago and travelled from Germany to Atlanta with just the surface pro and a new android phone. surface pro weighs around 800g. MacBook 1400g+. I been making trap beats on the plane. In fact, one of the three beats should be sold and I just got here. You're cool btw 💪🏽 nice channel man 🔊
iPad's powerful processor is not utilised by the limiting iPad OS. On the other hand, Microsoft Surface pro 8 have a full fledged windows. So, it is more usable for most of the work. (I'm a Physics researcher, I can perform my research programming, run the necessary softwares on windows and mac, but not in ipad)..
damn that is wonderfully said. "it's a desktop when i need it and a tablet when i don't need my desktop" that's exactly what i've been wanting for so long. thank you for the video!
YES , I BOUGHT 6 SURFACE PRO 5 i7 16GB RAM 512GB FROM ebay.. for all family members...and they are all kicking great.. far better than you can imagine...... BRAVO MICROSOFT
Personally I think if Apple allows pro apps and desktop interface in the ipad os, it will compete with the macbooks, I'm guessing they don't want that but then again what's the point in adding 16gb ram and an m1 chip to the ipad pro models? 🤷🏽♂️
Actually it’s didn’t compete, Desktop are rare now most offices and working from home people use laptops especially who need to do more typing, typing documents using Tablets keyboard for daily work it’s a punishment, for those that their work need them to go out and mobile they need Tablets, having the IPads with MacBook capabilities will make more people join the Apple ecosystem
Im also in Apple Eco and think of ditching the macbook pro for an SP8 and get an Aorus Box for some 3D rendering when needed. iPad OS is for touch & Pencil only and ok there is software for 3D art but MacOS is for trackpad only. Give it a mouse and keyboard and you can’t use it on external screen. Not to mention the software compatibility, need for parallels/windows etc. The continuity is the most significant feature keeping you in the Apple loop i guess.
I bought the surface pro 8 for school work starting in september, ive been using it for about 2 months now, it is an amazing laptop, the smoothness of windows 11 paired with the 11th gen cpu is so nice. Only issue i have is the worry of putting too much pressure on the keyboard
@@Michael-vf5id The surface is holding up amazingly well, os is still smooth and the keyboard hasn’t gotten any major damage which I feared before, but I still am cautious when using it. I have the i7 edition
Flexibility is King. Correct. Had pro7. Traded pro7 for pro8 because I knew the slim pen, keyboard, USBC, etc...were similar options to the proX. This is finally a great combo of pro7 specs and proX. Very happy. Also, pairing the device to your phone and tv is a smooth experience compared to pro7. I cast back and forth from the tv, to the phone, and back again with ease. Casting to the tv to watch a film wirelessly is perfect now...no hiccups like pro7. And pro7 wasn't even that bad. The casting to the tv to do simple tasks like writing an essay in word, watching movies in a movie player, streaming, or looking at web content is uninterrupted. Playing apps like MAME through casting doesn't quite work yet. Lol. Too heavy. At that point I play it on the device and it works flawlessly. Otherwise I can just attach with wire with USB-C. Two usb-c!!! The speed of moving files back and forth from portable drives is incredible! Much faster than pro7. The 120 MHz is also a plus for MAME games and other apps. Drawing in art apps is a much smoother experience than pro7. And again, pro7 wasn't bad. But this pro8 has been ramped up in many ways! It's quite a difference from pro7. I don't think usb-c can sub as chargers. I tried several ways to charge from the usb-c. Nothing. Pro7 could be charged from usb-c and it's regular charger. Not pro8. Anyways. I'm sure someone has made a program to allow for that. Lol. The larger screen is nice. The pen in the keyboard is so much better. I have always used windows filing and folders so I'm glad this is a window pc/tablet. I also didn't want an iPad separate from mac idea. You have to add apps that allow you to organize files and folders in iPad. Will iPad ever have a filing and folder system like the mac? Or does it? It's been a while since I looked. Like you said. Flexibility. I have my PC filing and folder system in my tablet/PC. No need for a giant separate PC tower. I love the small formfactor for what I do. I don't need a lot of power. The extra features and power it now has it far above what I need! So I'm happy. Using PS4 and Xbox gamepads are great too. And using Samsung earbuds is flawless. Karaoke and casting with this device to a Google max speaker is flawless now! No wires! Bluetooth rocks! Best surface ever! Was I always fan? Nope. Do I love the iPad? Yes. That pen is undefeatable. But the slim pen with haptic feedback is cool. It's pretty amazing to draw with that pen. If I had a lot of money I would have a pro8 and an iPad. Lol. iPad on the road. Pro8 at home. The iPad for certain art apps. I'm jealous of some of the iPad apps for sure. Anyways. Great reviews
I live in Uganda (Africa), and we have very bad roads. I have always explained to people that asked me if they should buy an M1 iPad Pro, that, it is like buying a Lamborghini and driving it in Uganda. The roads for it are not there. So you will never be able to use it to its fullest.
Interesting video, this is the 3rd report I have heard in 3 months, regards to the Surface 8 and it’s brilliance. I’m going to take a look in 2023, as I’m hardly using my Mac software now, I’ll keep them but possibly use this for work/ productivity.🙏
Thanks for the review. I've been a Mac guy for the past 15 years, and after purchasing a new 14" M1 last summer, before the Pro and Max chips, I'm finally done with Mac. Not interested in having to spend another $500 to get dual display capabilities. Saw the new Surface Pro 8 at Best Buy last week and it looks like the one device to replace my MacBook Pro and iPad. Can you provide a link to the 1TB SSD you ordered? I'm not a creative, but a professional who needs good tech to get massive amount of work done. Thanks.

"It can be the desktop when I need it, and the Tablet when I don't need a desktop"... This is exactly what I was looking for. For me the SP 8 ticks all the boxes. Sure it isn't the most powerful, but for what it is, it offers the best value for people like me who want our desktop apps on a tablet form factor and also a media or light gaming device on the go. The iPad Pro is sure powerful, beautiful and solid. But I hate that Apple doesn't let it run to its full potential. No full-fledged MacOs app support even though the hardware can support that, or even upgrade the iPad OS to be able to do more. It's quite limited and still feels like a glorified mobile OS and iOS isn't the greatest when it comes to flexibility and what you can do on your mobile devices. The Tab S7/S8 is the next best thing. Android tablet app support is still catching up (quite quickly if I may add), so the Tab S7/S8 is not really an option (I use the S7 btw, great device). Android tablets are great media devices and mobile gaming beasts, but due to lesser app support, they don't check all the boxes. The SP8 just does it all. Far less powerful, sure, but the only tablet with the greatest flexibility and widest app support. Though I'd most likely hold off on the SP8 and get the SP9, which would likely come with the Alder Lake chipsets for more performance /efficiency. Fingers crossed on an AMD version though that is highly unlikely. Finally, a reviewer who understands what I need.

Anybody have problems with 4K 60hz external displays? I cannot get mine to work no matter what I do. With the official Windows drivers 60hz option doesn't appear at all. With the latest Intel drivers the option appears, but the image is all distorted and completely unusable. The dock I have works fine on cheap Samsung laptop with Win11, so I'm confused why it isn't working. I'm tired of installing Windows again and again trying to troubleshoot this, I really want to like this device but this kills it for me. I might have to send it back. :/

Very curious to see how this works out for you. I’m so “all in” on the apple eco system that this would be a crazy move for myself. But the idea of one device does seem promising and I could almost see myself abandoning the iOS music production scene in exchange for ableton on a tablet. Looking forward to an update on this in the future.
The pro 8 is overkill for content consumption in my opinion. If you do wanna do content creation stuff or need a laptop tablet replacement it is awesome. The tab 8 is oled though I believe so you'll probably have a nicer video experience with that one
I still rock the SP6. This type of device really is the best blend of all worlds. Its small and light like a tablet when you want it to be, and for just a little more weight and bulk by adding the keyboard it becomes a full blown laptop. Thinking about getting the SP9, but I do use the audio jack so might just pick up the SP8 on sale. Only thing I hate on the SP8/SP9 is that terrible power and volume button placement. That needs to be on the top, period, end of story. That is a pretty big miss. But getting the Thunderbolt 4 ports, the larger screen, and the better pen are pretty big upgrades from the SP6.
I was considering getting an SP8 off the used market. But Mobile Tech Review reported the SP9 as "still" having only about 6 hours of battery life under actual usage. This would imply the SP8 is not any better. That's a bit of a deal breaker for me. 6 hours is abysmal. Having one super portable device for everything would be nice. But it looks like I'm sticking with an iPad Pro for note taking/book reading, and a 13" MacBook Air for when I need an actual computer.
In case nobody notice surface pro 8 is a lot more expensive than Macbook Air M1, Surface pro 8 has a fan, real life battery is a lot less than the 16 hours it claims.
I had a SP4 but threw it in the bin a couple of years ago because the battery was swelling (safety hazard). Looooved the PC but really damaged my trust for the brand. If I wanted a new one I had to pay 500 Euros for a refurbished one (I don't like the idea of owning someone else's own PC, and 500 is still a lot). Apparently the battery issue was only for the SP4 model, so I guess it's better now. But I'll hold off for another year or two just to be sure. :)
I so much feel you, I'm programming game and I wish I could do that on my iPad Pro (not m1), but I'm so frustrated that I really want to buy a surface pro 8. The form factor is great, i could do all the graphics for my games on it, the music on it (although I sincerely love garageband) and that's it! I'm just waiting for the WWDC because apparently this year could be the year where Apple FINALLY release Xcode (application mandatory for releasing any software on anything Apple) on the iPad, aswell as Logic Pro and final Cut pro (not for me, but certainly for other people). I just wish Apple could just give the iPad finally a reason to be called "Pro"
I waited for so long for Apple to finally add those pro apps and just gave up. It will probably happen someday, but every year I think it will happen it doesn't :[[
Love my Surface pro 6. For the rare occassions I need mega power, I just use a cloud PC service. Also game on it via Geforce now. Gives you the power of a super desktop on a tablet and it keeps getting cheaper.
Great review, very succinct. I have a Surface Laptop Studio that's a bit of a chonky boi but serves me very well. Looking forward to more videos of you pushing the envelope with the i7 SP8.
I wasn't expecting this coming from you lol. But you made a really good point there 😅 👍🏻. If I'm not mistaken, it has two Thunderbolt™4 ports and you can plug an external GPU in case you need more power.
I had a 10 year old Mac and replaced it with a SP7. I wanted a modern machine with touch and pen. Macs and iPads will never merge. Don't believe the hype you need both a laptop and a tablet. I didn't want the hassle of transfering files to my desktop and the weird workarounds of a mobile OS. One machine to do it all.
I’m a teacher and love the Macbook and iPad Pro’s speed. The ipad has so many great useful utilities and the pencil is wonderful for classroom instructions. However there is one thing holding it back - the screen resolution. On a SMART Board the ipad only scales to about 2/3 of the screen. It is so frustrating. I have an apple watch, iPhone and I think I will be going back to Surface Pro’s. I’m very disappointed in how great yet crippled the M1 Ipad is.
If apple would allow the ability for distributed computing by plugging a m1 into another m1 via tb4 to allow the host m1 to take advantage of all the memory and cpu and gpu cores of both that would be an awesome closed eco system where the hardware and software can be combined for more power. .that can do but refuse to.
Apple is a strange company . They take the adaptor out of the box for the iPhone but make it necessary to buy a laptop and a tablet to have a complete computer experience . The new Surface Pro 8 is awesome something the iPad Pro could have been .🙃
All I really want is an iPad Pro 12.9 with a Magic Keyboard that could switch between Mac OS and iOS. I’m not a big fan of laptops and prefer a desktop. But I do want the ability to run programs, and have the ability of iPad from time to time.
I have just made the switch from the iPad Pro (5th gen, cellular 1Tb, 12.9in) due to a charging issue which Apple wanted £979 to replace. They said they couldn't repair it, because "it's a sealed unit". Which begs the question "how can you give me a refurbished unit if you can't open them up?" Apple Genius: "I don't know!" So, I bought an X Elite Surface Pro 11, base 512gb SSD. Even if it takes me 6 months to be more comfortable with the SP11, I know that it can be repaired and opened up. I use my personal device (previously the iPad Pro, now the SP11) more for working in a more comfortable, relaxed situation (lying in bed/on the sofa) than my work Dell Laptop. I mainly use MS Office, I mark up documents and the Apple Pencil 2 is a joke with Word. There's so much latency and dropped strokes, that trying to write on docs is a nightmare. Half the functionality is missing on MS Office for iPadOS compared to Windows Office. My use case is 40% leisure, mainly browsing, reading the (real) news and watching YouTuble videos. The rest is work. So I pick up the new Flex Keyboard today, at a hefty £439 with the Pen 2. It's a lot, but no more than I would have spent on a new iPad Pro keyboard and new Pencil, had I decided to buy a new ipad Pro instead. My first impressions are generally weird because I am trying iPad gestures etc. However, I am familiar (somewhat) from using Windows on my laptop and being an MS user since MS Dos 3! I like the fact that I have a proper file system, rather than that joke on the IPP. I produced a PPT the other day, and even without the pen it was a lot easier than the IPP. In time, I know this SP11 will prove to be far better for me than the IPP. Apple will never put MacOS on the IPP because it will lose the monetisation from the App Store. They could easily create an Elite version, but the current M4 IPPs are like having a Ferrari in a permanent 30mph zone managed by Average Speed Cameras.....as you americans say "go figure!"
@@fleuratgovori9466 yes, I own one. There is no kick-stand, which means if you want to work with any type of angle that you have to keep it attached the massive keyboard. And there is the fact that MS has discontinued the SB line.
You could just plug in a egpu into the thunder bolt port if you want more power. I honestly thought that by now apple would of done a 2 in 1 laptop but I suppose that would cut into iPad sales
The EGPU performance loss was too much for me to justify paying the price for an external box but when prices come down could be worth. I ended up getting a gaming desktop for GPU heavy tasks.
Sounds like a great device. But I recently bought the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 for drawing purposes and it's absolutely the best thing I've ever used. Just like you said in this video, there are other devices that do their stuff better, but for me this one is like... absolutely perfect, it does everything I want, not just draw, and it cost me like 750 dollars...
Just out of curiosity, do you also use the Pen in "laptop mode"? Cause I've had the experience with the Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 that the screen wobbles too much when using the pen this way. And switching to the tablet mode (either standing up or folded around laying down) felt very unstable to do, because of the thin display, so I'd always fear breaking it

I currently have an 8 yo ipad that's on the fritz. I've been wanting a hybrid and have had my eye on the surface pro for a really long time now. It was your video that finally convinced me to get one. Here's to hoping it will also last 8+ years!
I bought a Surface Pro 7+ recently and I'm loving how it is more capable than my iPad Pro 11 simply because it has a full-blown OS.
Just imagine m2 iPad with macOS, ideally windows haha
Same. Except I’ve had a Surface Pro 7+ since launch, and recently got a iPad Air M1 to replace my aging Fire.
@@spaghettimeatballswow the lag doesn’t exist anymore with slim pen 2 and newer surface device well from my experience with surface laptop studio
How many hours of battery life on Surface Pro 7❤
Apple will never blend a laptop and a tablet cause they WANT you to buy both! Surface is definitely the way to go
Yes, I want a Surface Pro 8. But Microsoft not selling it in India. So sad 😔
“Wanting” you to buy both, and having you *actually* buy both are two different things. If products like the Surface Pro serve both needs, people will start to abandon the Apple products for one’s like Microsoft’s. That’s shaky ground to be on.
I have waited eternally for Mac Book pro to have touch and pen input...
@@DomainObject they will not
@@Akella1986 They will not what?
I really appreciate this because it seems really honest and unbiased
but theres an amazon link to buy it.... microsoft sells this too.. just sayin.. unbiased huh..ok.
Hi is your surface pro 8 still holding up and do you have the i5 or the i7 ?
@@Michael-vf5id
I'm in love with this device, and I wish I bought it sooner.
I have the 7 and forgot about the external GPU capability on the 8 😫
I really like how you explained the advantages of surface pro 8. I bought one and I am enjoying how easy to carry it and it is powerful laptop and tablet. Thanks
3:08 With TRUE Intent. That SMILE says it all!! Well done.
Thank you so much for this
Just bought because of your review. Thanks mate👋🏿
happy my review helped, hope you enjoy the surface!
Best video I've ever seen like this. You were accurate and succinct.
Im all in with the 180 turns you do! Looking forward the follow ups on this one!
🙏😎 appreciate you being here on the journey!
Even though I use lots of Apple products at home but when it comes to real work I always use my surface pro. I just love this thing.
In still using a Surface Pro 5 (2017) and still loving it!! I prefer Galaxy tablet for the more simple tasks, but the Surface is my workhorse. 😊❤️👍
Apple has to know almost everyone feels like this. Salute
ITS JUST THAT, I want this type of device because i think that this is the future, no one can say that the surface pro 8 is not the future, because it is very powerfull and beautifull!
Yeah I got rid of my iPad and MacBook Air and I got an SP8 and it is way better then having to carry two devices it's powerful and it's great love it
Thank you Dylan - very informative and helpful for my decision between IPad Pro vs Surface Pro
I’m still using my surface pro 4 and it still runs like a charm. I’m going to upgrade now. Great vid
Thanks for the video! U made me order my sp8. when you were talking about NI and all the plugins I got hyped! Thank u so much!
You switched to SP8 for the exact same reasons as me. I had an iPad Pro but constantly disappointed by Apples direction on it!
Hey Dylan ❤
After you made me fall in love with this thing I bought an old secondhand surface pro 5 as a test device.
You're cool btw 💪🏽 nice channel man 🔊
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience! Congrats on selling that beat!

iPad's powerful processor is not utilised by the limiting iPad OS. On the other hand, Microsoft Surface pro 8 have a full fledged windows. So, it is more usable for most of the work. (I'm a Physics researcher, I can perform my research programming, run the necessary softwares on windows and mac, but not in ipad)..
Agreed, if Apple let users actually take advantage of the hardware it would be a really interesting product
I hate the headphone jack is gone I love tb4 for future egpu upgrades and fast ssds.
Thanks a lot for your review. It helps a lot. I am a Studio One user, I plan to use this for it.
damn that is wonderfully said. "it's a desktop when i need it and a tablet when i don't need my desktop" that's exactly what i've been wanting for so long. thank you for the video!

Great Real review
YES , I BOUGHT 6 SURFACE PRO 5 i7 16GB RAM 512GB FROM ebay.. for all family members...and they are all kicking great.. far better than you can imagine...... BRAVO MICROSOFT
Personally I think if Apple allows pro apps and desktop interface in the ipad os, it will compete with the macbooks, I'm guessing they don't want that but then again what's the point in adding 16gb ram and an m1 chip to the ipad pro models? 🤷🏽♂️
Apple knows their consumers will always buy 2 devices instead of 1...lol
Actually it’s didn’t compete, Desktop are rare now most offices and working from home people use laptops especially who need to do more typing, typing documents using Tablets keyboard for daily work it’s a punishment, for those that their work need them to go out and mobile they need Tablets, having the IPads with MacBook capabilities will make more people join the Apple ecosystem
Welcome to the club. SPX user for 3 years now. #heaven.
Also having a windows device with cellular connectivity is a fantastic way to get unlimited data, instead of using a hotspot.
An honest and thought out filled with practical experience review. Subscribed.
thank you!
Bandlab has actually been great for me as a beginner with making music. Cloud-based but also has a full on DAW if I wanna use that later on.
OH MY GOSH ----- THIS IS EXACTLY THE VIDEO I WAS SEARCHING FOR!!!! 😭 😭 😭 😭 THANKS FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!! REALLY APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH!!!!✨✨✨✨
I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊😊
The SP8 Also has thunderbolt. So you can use external graphics cards.
Thanks man!
Pretty practical & honest review.
I bought the surface pro 8 for school work starting in september, ive been using it for about 2 months now, it is an amazing laptop, the smoothness of windows 11 paired with the 11th gen cpu is so nice. Only issue i have is the worry of putting too much pressure on the keyboard
Hi is your surface pro 8 still holding up and do you have the i5 or the i7 ?
So you will never be able to use it to its fullest.
great comparison!
Interesting video, this is the 3rd report I have heard in 3 months, regards to the Surface 8 and it’s brilliance. I’m going to take a look in 2023, as I’m hardly using my Mac software now, I’ll keep them but possibly use this for work/ productivity.🙏

Really glad you enjoyed the video! I bet the SP9 will be awesome!

@@DylanParisMusic ok just was asking since right now the surface pro 8 is on sale
But getting the Thunderbolt 4 ports, the larger screen, and the better pen are pretty big upgrades from the SP6.
i love my surface pro 9
Color gamut and RGB colors are the most important comparison which you didn’t mentioned between Macbook and Surface
Fair point! These are super important for some users!
Thank you for this video. Now I know that I'll be investing in a surface pro
My mind has changed on this thing over the years, I'd definitely consider looking at different options unless you need windows on a tablet
PrimoCache gives a nice boost to my sp8
In case nobody notice surface pro 8 is a lot more expensive than Macbook Air M1, Surface pro 8 has a fan, real life battery is a lot less than the 16 hours it claims.
Yup and no longer noisy fans in Mac products.
oh man that's no good! i'm sorry you had that experience and i appreciate you sharing it
Tim Apple comes on stage..."Meet the new iPad Pro, it's out most powerful iPad yet".....it's still running a blown up version of iOS 😂😂😂

Cool!
You're right.
Love my Surface pro 6. For the rare occassions I need mega power, I just use a cloud PC service. Also game on it via Geforce now.
Gives you the power of a super desktop on a tablet and it keeps getting cheaper.
GeForce now is really good on the surface
Great review, very succinct. I have a Surface Laptop Studio that's a bit of a chonky boi but serves me very well. Looking forward to more videos of you pushing the envelope with the i7 SP8.
I thought a lot about the laptop studio as well! It looks super cool and that discrete GPU is a big plus
hey dude, great video.. good luck with your channel
Appreciate it!
I wasn't expecting this coming from you lol. But you made a really good point there 😅 👍🏻. If I'm not mistaken, it has two Thunderbolt™4 ports and you can plug an external GPU in case you need more power.
Yeah I wish there were cheaper enclosure options and the GPU market wasn't so nuts right now cause that sounds amazing!
Totally agree, if the ipad was a bit more flexible it could be a dream machine!
I love my SP because I don't have to buy a computer AND a tablet.
U can even run RTX3090 graphics card through eGPU which convert it to gaming beast with that 120hz display
Is the battery life good? As my surface pro 7, battery can only last for 2hours. Get heated and laggy when charging.
If apple would allow the ability for distributed computing by plugging a m1 into another m1 via tb4 to allow the host m1 to take advantage of all the memory and cpu and gpu cores of both that would be an awesome closed eco system where the hardware and software can be combined for more power.
.that can do but refuse to.
kinda what the M1 Ultra is, just two M1 Maxes glued together haha
Apple is a strange company . They take the adaptor out of the box for the iPhone but make it necessary to buy a laptop and a tablet to have a complete computer experience . The new Surface Pro 8 is awesome something the iPad Pro could have been .🙃
Great video am also selling my macbook pro i already got myself a surface pro 8 and loving it.
All I really want is an iPad Pro 12.9 with a Magic Keyboard that could switch between Mac OS and iOS. I’m not a big fan of laptops and prefer a desktop. But I do want the ability to run programs, and have the ability of iPad from time to time.
Agreed at this point
Great freaking vid
Thank you!
So what about all the osx and ios apps you paid for?

Great observations. For me, I'd be really interested in a Surface Pro if MS ever built one with a 14" display.
You have Surface Book 3 with 15"
@@fleuratgovori9466 yes, I own one.
