Up the Irons and all that. Love these guys. Seen probably as many times as Yes. My older brother took me to this tour. I was 15. GNR opened. Ty for reaction JP!
What a ride. As a life long 70s prog nerd with Genesis, Yes and Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden pulled me into the metal rabbit hole with this album. Absolutely love it. I have seen them a couple of times live together with my sons and they are on the top of their game. Thanks for this reaction, loved it.
Wild! I’ve been relistening to Maiden’s entire catalogue in chronological order… just hit this album 2 days ago. Crazy timing! I think albums 3-7 are all incredible… they were unstoppable in the 80s… though this has always been my favorite. I love every single track here. The lyrics are so full of doom, but the music is so upbeat… love that contrast.
I think this might be Iron Maiden's most consistent album, nothing here I would prefer to skip, but maybe not quite the high points of some of their earlier albums. Still it was a great time to be an Iron Maiden fan, the band was riding high in the UK charts and the accompanying tour was spectacular.
It would be awesome if you could do Killers . I’m not sure if you’re aware but Maiden had a different singer who recently passed away. If you’ve never heard old Maiden they have more of a raw dare I say, sometimes even punk rock mesh. You should definitely check it out.
I remember several friends at the time wondering aloud if "Can I play with Madness" was Maiden selling out/chasing sales. So your 'disquiet' at the way it doesn't quite hit like a Maiden song should is not the first time I have heard that.
Just bought my daughter a Seventh Son soccer jersey, we've seen them 2 times, for me it was like my 10th time. Maiden were my first concert on their 'World Slavery Tour', and this album is close to the top of their works for me, got it the day it came out. I do agree that 'Can I Play ... ' is the 'cheesy song' on the album, Maiden tend to have a goofy poppy song each album starting with this one (the next album is the awful 'No Prayer for the Dying' with the 'Nightmare On Elm Street' generated 'Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter', a Bruce Dickinson solo song that Steve Harris insisted be included on their Maiden offering) a bit of like Jethro Tull started to do in the late 80s with 'Kissing Willie' and such. But, Seventh Son is an awesome album overall, I just sort of have to grit my teeth through Madness, I've always felt that way. It isn't terrible, it's just not the right tone to match the rest of the album. My daughter likes that song a lot though. ;> Thanks for the reaction as always, keep up the great work.
@@JustJP well, funny thing, Maiden are huge soccer fans and I was going to get my daughter a West Ham Maiden jersey since Steve is a huge fan, but she is a Liverpool fan and was not psyched to wear a West Ham jersey ... you can't win with girls!
I stopped listening to Iron Maiden after Powerslave. I’ve enjoyed your reactions to IM and I’ve heard many good things about this album. I’d like check it out when I get the chance.
Ahh yes, you're one of those guys 😛Maiden were 100x better with Bruce in the band imo. The DiAnno stuff can't hold a candle to their epic mid-late 80s peak.
@@pentagrammaton6793 I can't help it, I can't stand Bruce Bruce's air siren voice! And honestly, why persist uselessly when Maiden had said it all in two perfect albums?🙄
@@a.k.1740 Oh man there's some filler on their first two albums for sure! But I get it, vocals are personal, if you don't like his operatics there's no getting round it. 🙃
@@pentagrammaton6793 Sorry, I don't think there's any filler on Iron Maiden and Killers. In any case, I don't like the ‘epic’ direction they took afterwards, so their first two albums are more than enough for me.
Their MAGNUM OPUS!! Yes! So glad you’ve finally tackled this one! By far, their best years were from 1982-1988. All mandatory album listens

I see your "Does 'Madness' sound like Iron Maiden" and raise a "Bring your daughter to the slaughter".

Waiting for my first cup of coffee of the day to brew.... Moonchild started out as a doff of the hat to Jethro Tull
BEST MAIDEN ALBUM !!!!!!!
Infinite dreams my favourite off this album

Ty Michael- I'll keep that one in mind for next time with IM
19:08 + 19:33 - it meant to be a charts hit,. and it was for a bit
41:25 - Much like the lines in 'Power Slaves'. Indeed the best written song here
My favourite album from iron maiden

Solid rock band, best played loud.
41:56 - I heard: 'I been reborn again'
I see Maiden, I click. Top, top Album.

The last of their great.
2000’s “Brave New World” was the next best thing they released after this album
Well shit, i always thought it was; "Someone chasing, a CARIBOUUUU"
Lol :D
A flawless masterpiece, and I do not use that term lightly. Up the Irons! Still not joining Patreon though, lol. \m/ \m/

It's superb, their only properly progressive metal album. \m/
Justin please react to Love Hate -- Blackout, or Janes Addiction would be great too.
Good album. Paul who? just joshing, I'm ok with them both. But..... If I had to pick, I'd tilt towards the Brucey gang :)
Sensible.
The funny thing, is that Bruce Dickinson's real name is also Paul 😆
@@pentagrammaton6793 Ahhh, I did not know that .
What's the point on a reaction video when you don't even show it.

🤢? No, more 😴 Music without brain.
Iron Maiden's only worthwhile studio albums were with Paul Di'Anno. Sorry, I never liked Bruce Dickinson's voice.😉
