I drink approximately 1L water when am at home and doing no extensive physical activities ( mostly I do writing or typing my ideas and thoughts related to life and science ). Sometimes I drink more than 2L water ; actual quantity of water consumed depends on how much I walked, traveled, and exercised ( overall, how much I breathed ), and also on the season ( real-time air temperature, floor temperature ( since last 3 months, I prefer to sleep on floor ), humidity/moisture content in air/how dry the air is, sunlight, etc ). So my water intake profile is dynamic. There's no standard value* ( *recommended, common, fix quantity of water to be had ) for anyone, because it depends on age, gender, physical and mental activities, environmental factors, etc. One particular optimal value could be the best approximated value. Example : children who play a lot of outdoor games will drink more water than the ones who sit in one place and read books. However, they both will drink a particular minimum quantity of water, because their body's natural mechanism will initiate feeling of thirst, to signal the brain to go and get some water for the body. The brain initiates few chemical reactions and we walk towards a source of potable water to quench our thirst. Maintaining a good pH level in our stomach is also important. Our blood is slightly alkaline, but the stomach mostly contains acidic juices ( to chemically breakdown the food ). So we see that a lot of parameters collectively decide how much water one should drink.
Simple and factual explanation 👏😊
