I know im late but I wanna know more about how your set up turned out. Is there any drone? and how loud is it? im looking for really good tone with uel headers and catback system that doesnt wake the neighbors but will be loud when you want it to. Ive been wanting to get the Borla cat-back S-type but Im worried about if Ill really be getting my moneys worth because theres some more populars ones out there for a good amount cheaper
It really depends where the leak is and how bad it is. If it's after the O2 sensors it's not likely to cause a check engine light, but if it's before the sensors and it's a sizeable leak it could cause a CEL. Usually, the best way to tell is to visually inspect the exhaust flange connections to see if there is any soot or blown out gaskets.
There will be a flapping noise /almost like a fart sound if the exhaust was leaking. Basically it wouldn't sound right, and when you accelerate you will feel a lil' lag until higher rpms
I didn't make a video on that, but I did post a story on the FTSpeed Instagram about it. You basically put two nuts on the end and tighten together. You can then use a wrench on the inner most one to remove the stud or the outer one to install a stud.
It's probably teetering on the line of being just bearable / too loud. Once I install an aftermarket overpipe and front pipe I think it'd be too loud for a daily.
A helpful tip that I did on my brz is take a Perrin inlet tube it’s very cheap , replace it and take out the oem inlet tube , this process you’ll take out the sound generator tube that’s pumps engine noises from the engine bay to the cabin , creating a lot drone . I removed it and my cabin is really quiet . My car currently have Tomie header , JDL duel res front pipe and HKS hi spec Catback system . It’s a good loud outside , like your friends would be proud of you but not disturb your neighbor type either . And doing the process I told you earlier , the cabin will have very little drone . You’ll be able to daily it as well .
I think the video title could be better descriptive and more accurate, and might help a newbie who doesn’t know your company... It would be an easy fix. Now, that 2nd generation BRZ's and GR86’s are everywhere and new owners are looking for information on doing mods they are going to find your video. Though I've done lots of mods to my car and have tracked it for 15 day this year, I wanted to see a few install videos before I took the car’s headers off and put my new ones on. I missed the styling differences or I didn’t think it important at the time until I saw that the underside didn't have the triangular bracing of the Gen2 cars. There's also a slight difference in oxygen sensor wiring length. It would ne nice if the video title says it's for First Gen cars, FT86's, Toyota's, BRZ’s, etc. You could explain or edit the video's Tag Word list because the video does pop up when I use “BRZ”, “headers”, “install”.
I don't own the company. The title of the video says FRS header install. I'm sure it does pop up for BRZ and 2nd gens as well because the process is essentially the same. I have some of the most clear and precise videos for both 1st and 2nd gen owners. I don't believe anything needs to be changed as the video will be helpful to owners of both cars.
@@KevinVo Thanks for your reply. I had to listen to your first words many times before I caught "FRS" because you said it so fast. I would also say that FR-S dates back to 2012-2016, but compatibility goes through 2021 under different names. Perhaps I'm critical because I've done some video promotions and I've posted my own track videos (without commentary) and I've designed websites. Your videos are valuable and a help.
Wow. I expected more HP and torque. Though I like the elimination of the torque dip, my solution is just keep my RPMs above the dip. Could there be any other explanation? I do love the look of the headers. What is the weight savings?
It was a more hot and humid day. I'm sure if I added and overpipe and front pipe we could add a bit more. E85 is probably in the future as well. Weight savings is about 8lbs.
Better results without the cats, I did that to my 2018 BRZ and with an OFT E85 tune, combine all of that and the torque dip is barely noticeable, transforms the car.
Thank you for new FR-S videos man. As someone who got into the FR-S / car scene 2 months ago, having new videos being uploaded is fantastic.
Really glad to hear you're enjoying the videos!
This was sick! Energy in it was good and super happy to see new content!
More to come!
Great Vid man, i just threw on PLM EUL headers + over pipe + Borla Catback = COMPLETE! Best sound I've heard from a brz

This is very interesting I’m still new to the car scene and I want to learn as much as I can. Appreciate the content
Welcome to the car community! Glad you're enjoying the content!
Just need E85 on this bad boy bro. Keep up the awesome videos. You have helped a ton on my 86!
Glad I could help! Flex fuel is on the list for the future. I'm just dreading having to haul a bunch of fuel to the track.
Looks good Sounds good. Can't wait to see what's next.
Thanks! I love how it sounds!
Hopefully you guys keep these headers in production
I'm doing what I can to keep them alive!

Appreciate it! haha

Ya, I feel like I watched this the other day... happy to watch again tho, keep up the videos Kevin! CHEERS
Alright alright 😎👍
I ceramic coated my skunk2 alpha el header the same color. Looks so good!
Thanks for informative video. If this paired to after market over pipe and front pipe, without tune does the CEL will light up?
How much torque & hp gain with the headers at the torque dip area without a tune?
Dumb question, will you get a check engine light if you have an exhaust leak? How can you tell if you do have a exhaust leak?

Can I run headers without a tune because I can’t get a tune for awhile
Depends on the header. You can run this header without a tune as long as you aren't heavily modified.
Is this plm uel header catless or catted?
Can i install it without tuning my car?
Or i should absolutely tune it with oft?
Looks fairly simple. I need cat money so I will remove my own OEM header as well.
Dude I could off sworn you had video showing how to replace header studs. Comment the link to that video man.
I didn't make a video on that, but I did post a story on the FTSpeed Instagram about it. You basically put two nuts on the end and tighten together. You can then use a wrench on the inner most one to remove the stud or the outer one to install a stud.
You can pretty much get rid of the torque dip with just a tune.
Even with a tune, it only helps a bit and the torque dip is still very prevalent.
can we get exhaust clips with the headers?
Will get some soon!
@@KevinVo sweet!
Put a hks stroker on it and the GReddy itbs
I wanna see the power output with those added NA
Unfortunately, I have to stick to stock internals for my time attack class.
Curious to get your thoughts on if this setup (headers and exhaust) would be too loud for a neighborhood? My BRZ is my daily driver.

Why don't you have an undertray? You're hurting your aero by not keeping it!
It didn't come with one when I bought it.
Need more supra content. Good video though.
But I don't have a Supra 😅

177-170hp doesn't sound like 15 more horsepower…
The 15hp was referring to the torque dip that was shown in the dyno graph.
