    Paul O’Neil (May he rest in peace) chose the right man to perform this great, emotional song. I am longing to see them play this song live some day!

    John Brink you are an amazing man and your vocals are off the charts! So grateful for the time you shared with us back in your college days. The vulnerability and tenderness you brought to this song is so touching. Thank you. I hope you are doing well.

    This is by far my favorite version of Back To A Reason. John Brink has an incredible voice. I've seen him with TSO a few times, first in Beethoven's Last Night, then later in the Christmas tour, and I've never been disappointed with his performance. This is a very emotional song for me and I always cry right along with him. :)
    Thank you for sharing this video.

    For those asking about the emotion..... It's Trans Siberian Orchestra. It is some of the most emotionally powerful music written in our time. Search for :
    TSO- Chloe gets Emotional on youtube.
    Her voice breaks and she can barely finish the song.... but it is one of the most moving performances you will ever see.

      I think the story for this song (and album) also contributes. I love this album!!

    This is why i love them so much. They put all their feeling into it. Its not just a song or performance. Its part of them. Hto me the narrator and him are the best parts.

      +Oleander Solis Philip Brandon is the best narrator there is. Yes, I let him know at the meet and greet. And he is a cutie

    OMG...I Love this song. It strikes many personal cords for me. I have three daughters that I have not seen in years. I think of them often; "There is a child thats part of my soul". Live last year was fantastic, but this tops it. I am happy to hear it will be in this years show too!

    does anyone know why he cried? I have listened to this songs hundreds of times but this version is extremely emotional

    • @PotentiallyToast
      @PotentiallyToast 10 лет назад +2

      Read the narration before the song. Its about a man who's wife died giving birth to his song who ended up having brain damage. He abandoned him in a child orphanage and decided to go back years later on christmas. Read it then listen to the song! It's really great!
      Anyways he started crying at the end to go along with the story and make it more emotional! :')

    • @PotentiallyToast
      @PotentiallyToast 9 лет назад

      ***** Again he isn't legitimately crying. It's an act. He is singing the song as if he were the father from the story.
      And yes they didn't do that before but they add, remove, and change things every year.

    • @PotentiallyToast
      @PotentiallyToast 9 лет назад

      I'm willing to bet it was an act, faking tears is very easy, as is breaking up. Actors and performers do it all the time. IT wasn't just at this performance he cried, the one I attended he broke down at the end of the song aswell, as he also did for a performance a friend of mine went to that same year.

    • @KlutzyGal86
      @KlutzyGal86  9 лет назад +9

      DryeHound I can promise you that this wasn't "just an act." His next song to be performed after this was "What Child Is This?" and he did not come back on stage for it, Jeff Scott Soto took over that song for him that night because he was too upset after this song. He also was not out in the M&G line that night after the show.

    • @Jrbal7729
      @Jrbal7729 9 лет назад +5

      DryeHound I agree with Stacey Porter and *****. I found another person's video from this performance, and from the different angle, you can see Al Pitrelli (one of the guitarists, for those who are unfamiliar) come up next to him after he misses the line, kind of checking to make sure he's okay. Even in this video, you can see the slight nod John gives him to go ahead and finish the song (notice that the song just kind of hangs in the air for a bit longer than usual after the end crescendo). Besides, when people cry for show, they usually actually look more in control of themselves than this. You can tell there was something going on that we'll probably never know.
