I have one angelfish in my 29g community tank. I’ve had him in there since he was tiny, and he gets along very well with the other fish. He also swims along the glass when I walk by, and always knows when I’m gonna feed him lol. I just set up a 55g planted tank with a carpet, and looking set up a South American cichlid tank.
I have a beautiful black angel fish and he/she (not fully mature yet) is such a sweet fish. Really docile and minds their own buisness. I have him/her in a 55 gallon with 5 corys and a bristlenose.
Angelfish are my favorite fish to keep. I recently took a chance and ordered 8 platinum angels from Ebay. This is the first time I ever ordered fish online and it's very cold this time of year but they arrived healthy and amazing looking. I have them in an acrylic tank I built myself that is 6ft long 18 3/4 wide and 16 3/4 tall. It's planted with a few types of val, java fern and some anubias plants. It's scaped with rock formations on either end and spider wood in the center area. I like angels because they don't destroy a planted tank or harass the albino corydoras they are being kept with. I realize that keeping these 8 angels together forever in this tank is most likely wishful thinking but as of now I'm really enjoying watching them glide across the tank so gracefully like angels do. Watching them mature is my favorite time. Before they pair off and show their aggressive sides. Great video and beautiful fish
Thats funny im setting up a 110g and bought spiderwood yesterday and i was looking at the 8 bundle of platinums on ebay! Lol glad to hear they arrived healthy im considering it
So true about angels. I have three breeding pairs. Two of the pairs I have in a 150 gallon and the stake out their little territories and get along with the rest of the tank. Also it is a planted tank. Now the third pair I had to put in their own tank because they just took over. Heavy aggressive even when not breeding. This was a great video. Thanks for the info😀👍
Angelfish are a schooling fish, keep a minimum of two, to keep more, start with a 40g aquarium. Don't keep with rambunctious fish, they can coexist but will add stress to these slow swimming, territorial fish. Angelfish adore and thrive on live foods, high quality flake and other generally high quality food including small cichlid pellets. Angelfish are intelligent and curious about their environment, they love to explore, the more complex and interesting their environment, the happier they will be. You can effect this through complex shapes of driftwood and lots of plants. If you keep young, well fed angelfish with other very small fish, you will increase the chances of the small fish not being eaten. Strong currents in your aquarium are unnatural and unwelcome to these fish whose homelands are large slow moving rivers. Angelfish wil chase red laser dot beams like cats and it's good exercise as well as an outlet for their hunting instinct. Angelfish aren't so much aggressive as they are territorial, this territorial nature can lead to aggression or constant stress if they are in overcrowded or minimally furnished aquariums. These are especially friendly, intelligent and rewarding fish with distinct characters deserving of a fishkeeper that will spend at least a hour's research on their natural habitat and welfare. Fortunately, angelfish habitat is very easy to approximate a few Amazon swords, a jungle valisneria plant (or eel grasss) that will reproduce quickly via runners - all very inexpensive,, easy to grow, readily available plants. Add some complex shaped wood for an environment responsive to your angelfish's needs. An internet image search of angelfish natural environment (Amazon Biotope) will be an excellent 5 minute primer for the aquarium most conducive to their happiness. These are very beautiful, complex, territorial and personable fish.
Hoping to start our aquarium soon, we have just got our two Angelfish that we named ying and yang, can’t wait until they start showing more personality :)
The green barbs are moss barbs that are known to be the gentlest of the barbs . Mine are fine with my angels. They aren’t nippy at all. Harlequins are fine with angels too x
I have two gold veil angels in a 75 gallon. I named them Spock and Mirror Spock (one has black markings on his chin that looks like a beard). I have had them since Dec (they were dime size). They are now six inch high including fins). They are friendly to the other fish (two electric blue acara, one black ghost knife, 3 Congo tetra, 1 male cockatoo cichlid, one hill stream loach, one orange pleco, a few corys and a red sevrum). They are really curious and playful. If I throw in half an alge waffer they will bounce it back and forth with the tetras. Its cute to watch.
Your angel fish are beautiful! Mine are not that round or large. What do you feed the adults? I've got one angel I purchased in 3/23 @ about a dime size that isn't getting bigger. It looks like it's not growing. It's currently only a little bigger than a nickel size now. I'm feeding it frozen brine shrimp currently 2x day till its belly swells which is only a thin slice of the frozen brine shrimp. Any suggestions? I have found it upside down in the aqurium, so it's currently in a breeder tank and I am hoping to move it back to tank soon. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time
Mine laid eggs on a HoB filter, then 2 days later, they looked very clear-colored and the parents seem to have dismissed them, but I saw pinkish colored eggs on a tall piece of wood, with tiny tails. Are these new eggs or did they really move ALL those eggs?
I like Angelfish, but I only want fish that are DEFINITELY guaranteed to be peaceful, such as Cory Cats and White Cloud Mountain Minnows, and some Tetra species.
For years I have had aggressive fish, Big cichlids, small cichlids and 7 red belly pirahnas, which I found out they are in the tetra family, lol, but now I have 6 angels 2 dwarf fire gourmet and a black ghost knifefish, they all get along and it is so much better!!! People don't realize how much more aggrevating it is to keep aggressive fish, They stress each other if you have multiple fish, out 24/7 and stress always leads to disease.
I am going the "rescue" five angles that have nipped all of each others fins down. The will be going from a 30 gallon tank with zero plants ect to a 75 gallon at my house. I will have pleanty of hidey spots and soon live plants. Do you have any advice on getting them back to health and will their fins grow back?
What about ONE angelfish in with 3 rainbows and my tank is 45 gallons. I did have another angel but lost him in quarantine. He got ich. So I have one now, and a pictus. Would it be a problem if I put him in my main tank alone, with my 3 rainbows and pictus catfish? I don't want them breeding either, and getting aggressive.
Hey I recently got two angels for my community tank they were getting fin nipped by my tetras so I relocated the tetras. One of my angels has completely recoved but my other is worse for wear im wondering if its fin rot I have a video of him on my channel and information would be greatly appreciated
well to answer all thoes questions you asked i have 5 long fin angels all different colors (koi, platinum, marbled, gold, leopard) a very heavily planted 65 gallon and over 200+ gallons of filtration (2 sunsun 302 canisters)

I’ve had angels years and years ago as a beginner in smaller tanks now that I’ve graduated to bigger and better tanks and have more experience in the hobby I haven’t kept them but I’ve been thinking lately of getting a group of angels for one of my bigger tanks
I have three and two paired up and lay eggs every few months. They eat them the next day though don't know why ? I've had my angels for about a year, they were the size of a nickel when I got them they have grown a lot since then. My tank is a 29 gallon. I have 8 white clouds minnows and 5 cherry Barb's with them. I have no problems with aggression, i do a 50% water change once a week.
how many adult angelfish in all can i put in an 80 gallon tank( size 60inch long x 18 inch high x 18 inch deep) that i dont need to separate in the future..till now i have 4 juvenile of 7cm that are 3 marbles and 1 black...can i add more also if possible pairs? I need them to still be here as there permanent home..also i have some giant danios can i put them with them??
Some great videos here. Im new to fishkeeping and just started a channel so I can look back at where it all began one day. Also looking at getting a couple of Angels in a month or two for my tank. Hope to be as knowledgeable as you one day 😊
7 years ago I got 9 Angelfish 1/2 the size of a dime and grew them out all together in the same tank!!! They occassionally lock jaws and do a dominance fight for about 10 minutes but no other aggression and they get along great!!! They are all doing great with absolutely no problems!!! They are the only fish in the tank!!!
HELP!! I have a 32 gallon planted tank and my 2 Blue Angels somtimes comes to the surface and gasp, rest all the tetras are fine German rams all are doing well I use hang on filter + air bubble machine and heater. What might be the reason that only angels are gasping?
Well I think Its not the best to keep Angelfish and Neon Tetras each other. because they are fine with young Neons...But Angelfish will eat them if they are old. Its really not the best thing to keep a neon and angelfish.
I've been watching a few videos after wanting to get back into the hobby and omg. The amount of stuff that I was told that was completely incorrect. I ahd a beta 3 noon tetras and a baby angel fish ans 2 Cody's. I feel so bad about it now. They only lasted a month and a half. Watching them die was so hard
I have 4 mid sized Angels in a 36 gallon Tank, along with a bristlenose and 15 neons tetras. The tank is heavily planted and has two filters going at all times, a 800 gallon/h cannister and a 300l o/h. my water parametres are perfect and i am able to do my water changes. i am just worried that i am overstocking and this will cause problems for the angels as they grow, will i need to upgrade to a larger tank?
Just got 5 marble angels all about 5-6 inches big, Put them in my tank (plenty big) but after putting them in my tank, they all went down to a corner, and have stayed there for 3 days. The next morning when I looked at them, with the light off they were all around the tank, but as soon as i put the light on they go back to that same corner and stay there all day. after 3 days they still have not eaten. Is this normal as they are just scared, or do you feel there is another issue? I am new to the gold fish thing, so any help would be cool. Thanks. No other fish in the tank, just the 5 angels.
Most fish in good health can go a week or longer with no food and not experience any negative effects. More often than not fish are resistant to changes in their diet. It takes time and patience to swap sometimes with stubborn fish. Placing a couple pellets in, waiting to see if they eat it, if not take them out and let them go without food, until they do start showing interest in the new food. It may sound cruel to some, but it is generally the quickest way to train them.
Angel's tend to be really picky eaters, I suggest getting a few different types of food, mine like blood-worms and brine shrimp most, But as The Fish Guy said most fish in good health can go a week or longer with no food.
I have a 65 gallon tank and I was going to do a south American pond setup with 4 Angel's 2 busheynose plecos 6 marbled hatchetfish 7 diamond (or bleeding heart) tetras and 6 rummeynose tetras. Would that work. (Its also a heavily planted tank)
I have a aquascaped 30 gallon that is stocked as following... I do two 50% water changes weekly, and also have a 40 gallon sponge filter in it. Everyone gets along fine. Is this overstocked? -5 Angels -10 xray tetras -4 cory catfish
Angles are a South American Cichlid that are a species ONLY fish. I say this because in the past 3 years I have attempted endlessly to keep them in my 75. They are timid and very picky with the food they usually eat. Please note; I am not bashing Angles or trying to discourage people from owning these beautiful fish. I suppose all I am saying is that if you keep or plan on keeping these types of fish, remember, they are not a fish easy to keep.
My Angelfish Beelzebub is terrorizing all my other fish, i have 1 Plec, 13 tetras and 1 rainbow shark. He just constantly chases them around. Does kind of make me worry for them.
@@friedareiss5971 wow only just seen these replies. It is a 90 galloon or is it litre...lol. anyway i have 5 tetras left, 1 barb the angelfish and a plec. Iadked of this was ok in Pets at Home.....was told i could put more in. However, think i will leave it at that.
My angel fish died and it had no fin rot my other fish were kind to it and the water is clean. I have no idea why it died and I wanna know why. Can anyone tell me or give a guess
My aquarium is just 10 gal. I have 2 angel fish, 2 pearl scale(goldfish) and 6 pink danio. I have this tank for almost 3 months. I think their are good buddies because they are not fighting at all.
I have a beautiful adult female angelfish that I've raised from quarter size. She's laying eggs on a leaf in our 29 gal. community tank as I type this comment. She's been laying eggs about every six weeks for several months and she is quite healthy with beautiful color. This is my first experience with an angelfish and I love her. Now, to my question... I'm not particularly interested in a breeding her, but I would like to add another angelfish to the tank. Is it possible to do that without aggression issues and if so, should I add a juvenile or a mature adult?
I have 3 discus in a 60 gal, and 10 baby (coin size) Peru altums, i want to cut back on the angels because obviously thats too many but how many can i have in the tank without overcrowding? other tank mates are a couple corys and a few neon tetras
I have 5 in mine. all medium sized Angelfish. I have about 25 other fish as well. Clown Loaches, Tiger barbs and other Petco variety community fish. So far they're all doing well. Eventually my loaches will get pretty large but I'll probably sell them once they get 10+ inches.
From my experience, my dwarf gourami and angelfish got along fine. My angelfish isnt that aggressive though so it can vary. It comes down the fish personality. People online say discus are shy fish that aren't competitive feeders, and my 5 discus overwhelm my angelfish when they get fed, and my angelfish is 2Xs their size (my discus are still young)
Ok so I’m planning on keeping four small angelfish in a 29 gallon tank. Its going to only be angelfish no other fish. Do you think I would have any issues with that and as they grow I do plan to increase the tank size to a 55 gallon tank
dean hall I have 2 angelfish in a 29 gallon, I think 4 is too many even if they’re small, as they grow fast. Look on my channel if you wanna see what my pair look like.
the 29 will work for potentially as much as 6 months to a year. depending on growth. but once they start pairing off and fighting starts, you will need to have a plan for either a bigger tank or to separate them.
@@TheFishGuy I have a pair Angel's when I got them they were tiny. Now bigger the Male is pecking the female lip locked and wont let her out of corner. Is this normal? I have another pair in other tank no behavior as described.
Is it ok to keep 2 angels in a 1.6 gallon tank for a month. Bc I have 2 and they are in a tiny tank Bc I’m moving and I have to set up my other tank again.
i have angelfish too and they let my tetras alone, thank god :) my biggest, is just a ship, swims where he or she wants xD and my angelfish are so like dogs. they come up to the front, are really interested in whats going on. and they are mean eating machines. when its feeding time i will see it, even when i lay in bed, and i look over, they look at me like "FOOD! NOW!" they get enough food, so no worry just wondering, if i ever can tell who is who, so whos male whos female, because i can't look the whole day over them, job and co :)
I love my angels. I keep 6 adults in my 40 breeder with a school of scissortails and some Cory cats. It makes for a fabulous tank. Watching their little territorial spats is intetesting, but they always seem to come back into their own school. They kind of take care of their own group.
Can anyone help me? I have a 55 gal tank with a mating pair of angels yet my older and bigger (female) angel picks on the smaller male (which I got bred from my friend, he is younger and newer to the tank yet has been introduced a year ago) the male is docile and does not bother any other fish in the tank but the female does. I’m think about selling the female bc I do not want her hurting my African butterfly fish or the male angel. My question is, will my male be okay by himself? There are other fish in the tank like two Santa sword tails, gobys, and and my African butterfly, I am aware that angels are more of a pair or group fish but I don’t know what to do in this case.
First time I have something "Bad" to say how can u and other Breeders (some maybe most ) say Keep X amount of Fish in an X Gallon of water when you keep 499 fish in a 10Gallon yea I'm exaggerating but u know what I meant
Haha, very good question. Im sure it seems pretty weird to see so many fish in such a small tank with very little filtration. The difference is pretty simple, water changes. I myself do 50% changes weekly, if not more depending on the fish. Most hobbyists* barely even do 25% a month if that (most casual hobbyists*, I know there are many devoted fish keepers that do far more but sadly they are not the majority). So when I give a very light stocking recommendation that has to be taken into consideration. You can absolutely put a ton of fish in a smaller tank, but you have to do far more work to make sure that they stay healthy and happy, otherwise it can go downhill very quickly. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, my angels were peaceful for most part til they laid eggs then they started relentlessly attacking everything else in the tank. I had to remove everyone else and dump them in my other community tank or they would've died.
I have a 60g with 4 angelfish,2 plecos,2 powder blue gourami.and I have 6 of black tip sharks that I have to adopt off didn't research before I bought😥

Hi The fish guy.Would pinoy blue angelfish look better if they're in a dark bottom and dark background tank?
What kind of angelfish are these
I have them with parrots and Tetras and rosy barbs is that okay?
Just got 5 marble angels all about 5-6 inches big, Put them in my tank (plenty big) but after putting them in my tank, they all went down to a corner, and have stayed there for 3 days. The next morning when I looked at them, with the light off they were all around the tank, but as soon as i put the light on they go back to that same corner and stay there all day. after 3 days they still have not eaten. Is this normal as they are just scared, or do you feel there is another issue? I am new to the gold fish thing, so any help would be cool. Thanks. No other fish in the tank, just the 5 angels.
my friend is getting a angelfish and she only getting 1 angel fish how big or how many galllons is good for one angel fish?
the fish that lays the eggs is the female
;-)
I have a solo angelfish with some hatchets and a gourami, is my 20 gallon hexigon ok for that?
I just got angelfish and theyre about half of their full size. I did have 11 neon tetras a few weeks ago nkw theyre down to 6
could you keep them with mollies and platies in a 20 gal high?
What should I do if my angelfish doesn’t eat any pellets
Are congo tetras and harlequin rasboras good tank mates with angel fish?
I have an angelfish 2 lemon dwarf gouramis and 2 corydoras is that okay for a 25g
Can you keep one in a 20 gallon high?

Can angel fish get lonely if kept alone?
I have a mating pair of angelfish and I have 11 neon tetras with them and they never bother the tetras, even when they lay their eggs,
Can an anglefish get along with rummynose tertas.
I have a aquascaped 30 gallon that is stocked as following... I do two 50% water changes weekly, and also have a 40 gallon sponge filter in it. Everyone gets along fine. Is this overstocked?
-5 Angels
-10 xray tetras
-4 cory catfish
No
I wanna keep only Angel fishes
I have a 8 gallon aquarium with only 1 live plant in it
How many can I keep??
Pls reply as soon as possible
You need a bigger tank to keep angelfish
Zero
the purpose of der life is to prove us wrong 😂, that was funny
Does kind of make me worry for them.
sharron martin how big is your tank
😃that name you asked for it.
@@indiaruffin5979 i know, i know lol.
How many months do Angel takes to mature
My angel fish died and it had no fin rot my other fish were kind to it and the water is clean. I have no idea why it died and I wanna know why. Can anyone tell me or give a guess
The fish floating on the left at 2:00😂
Feed them frozen blood worms or flakes
Should I use tannins in my angelfish tank
true to your description... some of the basics.
How many angles can you put in a 75 gallon
I have 3 discus in a 60 gal, and 10 baby (coin size) Peru altums, i want to cut back on the angels because obviously thats too many but how many can i have in the tank without overcrowding? other tank mates are a couple corys and a few neon tetras
Hey how many angelfish with cardinals and rummynose in a 125 gallon? Nice vid
Do u recommend dwarf gouramis and angels
Can I put angelfish with a bicher?
How many angel fish can you put in a wide 10 gallon tank???
Probably one.
Is it ok to keep 2 angels in a 1.6 gallon tank for a month. Bc I have 2 and they are in a tiny tank Bc I’m moving and I have to set up my other tank again.
"Unless you've been living under a rock".
Yes I'm flat as a pancake 🥞.
I have 4 feet tank .i don’t comprehend gallons. (We speak the litre language lol). So how many fish can I keep. I have 20 small tetras.
I like angel fish too. This was a nice video.
I have 2 angles but one got aggressive every is good in my tank. Does that mean I have 2 mature males ?
My tank is 110g btw
i have angelfish too and they let my tetras alone, thank god :)
my biggest, is just a ship, swims where he or she wants xD
and my angelfish are so like dogs. they come up to the front, are really interested in whats going on.
and they are mean eating machines. when its feeding time i will see it, even when i lay in bed, and i look over, they look at me like "FOOD! NOW!"
they get enough food, so no worry
just wondering, if i ever can tell who is who, so whos male whos female, because i can't look the whole day over them, job and co :)
I love my angels. I keep 6 adults in my 40 breeder with a school of scissortails and some Cory cats. It makes for a fabulous tank. Watching their little territorial spats is intetesting, but they always seem to come back into their own school. They kind of take care of their own group.
Where did you get you Pinoy blue angelfish.
Very informative and worth watching thank you
Thank you mr.guy. good vid.
Is angel fish hardy ?
I got 15 angelfish on my pond couple years ago and now they're the size of my palm
Thank for the comment I can see what your saying I also have the Lazy Syndrome I only do water change once a month maybe
You are wrong about angel fresh you can have more than that in it if it's fine John tank they do not attack each other
Yeah, my angels were peaceful for most part til they laid eggs then they started relentlessly attacking everything else in the tank. I had to remove everyone else and dump them in my other community tank or they would've died.
I bought 2 the other day 1 didnt make it home and the other one is on deaths door. My parameters were perfect. But the guppies I bought are thriving
You gotta be FAST with travel time they stress bad FAST during travel.
I got my first angel fish yesterday
Got my first one today! 😀🐠
