- Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony in E minor, Op. 64 in a really young interpretation: It is played by the European Union Youth Orchestra conducted by Gianandrea Noseda. The live recording took place at the Young Euro Classic Festival in 2018 at the Konzerthaus Berlin. This particular concert stands out for the level of skill but also for how much the musicians are obviously enjoying playing their instruments together. You can really feel how much fun they're having.
The European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) has existed for more than 40 years. The EUYO brings together the best musicians from all EU countries, aged between 14 and 24. The orchestra's concerts are crowd pullers, not least because the young musicians play with the world's most famous conductors - here with Gianandrea Noseda.
Peter Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony in E minor is also popular with the public. After his 4th Symphony in 1877, Tchaikovsky initially had no intention of composing another symphony. But more than 10 years later he wrote down his Symphony No. 5 in only a few weeks and then conducted its premiere on November 17, 1888. Right at the beginning of the first movement the so-called fate motif is heard, which becomes characteristic for the entire 5th Symphony. But whether Tchaikovsky's Symphony 5 really pursues the program of a "Schicksalssymphony" is disputed. What is undisputed, however, is the rank that the 5th Symphony occupies among Tchaikovsky's 6 symphonies.

I have already seen a lot of elderly Orchestra playing this Symphony No.5 of Tchaikovsky and I have already played it, but never seen an Orchestra with motivated, caring, passionate, elegant and certainly happy young people who play with a lot of pride, and did we see how they play?They keep eye contact with themselves to communicate, motivate themselves and with the Conductor too, it's impressive, it's impeccable, Congrats guys...

When it comes to Tchaikovsky, well ! I'm lost to words of praise beyond my understanding, Praise the lord.
It´s beautiful to see the musicians "dancing" during the performance. The conductor's countenance is amazing.
Apparently this work sent Tchaikovsky in to severe depression, he had so many doubts about it.
It's one of my all time favourites a masterpiece of orchestration, melody, intricacy, drama and emotion.
Always send shivers through me when I hear it and often a tear of joy at the end.
A brilliant and very tight performance by the orchestra.
Ond of the best symphony ever composed .. at the level of beethoven and Mozart .. to me ..

Music is a language everyone understands
One of the best versions of Tchaikovsky No. 5, in terms of conduction, performance (special mention to the French horn, the clarinet, the timpani) and sound recording.
But the best of all, as many comments here have already mentioned, is that each and everyone of these talented young musicians are enjoying so much during the whole performance so much so that I feel that they are not only making music, they are like making love!
The Horn solo during the beginning of Mvt II sounds great. Love it
THIS is how classical music should be played. Not the fracking funeral attitude 99% of the conductors and orchestras bring to the stage.

One of the best performances of Tchaikovsky's 5th ever. The thing that made it special was the obvious enjoyment radiating out from the young musicians. The coda of this symphony is hard to bring off, but when you see joy of the faces of the performers it becomes one of the most rewarding endings in symphonic music. What made it for me was 42:43, the smile on the young violinist's face: brilliant.

There is so much emotion and life in this performance, it is amazing. They really feel the music. The passion of the musicians is tangible. Amazing nonverbal communication between the musicians. I feel like I am watching a love story. Thank you for a great performance. ❤️

Interprétation inégalable : un chef qui obtient ce qu'il veut de musiciens excessivement brillants, heureux de jouer ensemble cette 5ème de Tchaïkovsky avec musicalité et virtuosité. Le chef et les musiciens donnent tout, cela s'entend et se voit. Tous les plans sont identifiés et chaque pupitre est en parfaite harmonie avec les autres. La clarinettiste solo porte le thème avec une sensibilité et une expressivité inouïes.

Wunderschöne Aufführung dieser romantischen und perfekt komponierten Sinfonie mit gut harmonisierten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Der dritte Satz klingt besonders schön und auch lieblich. Der intelligente und erfahrene Dirigent leitet das jugendliche und perfekt trainierte Orchester im gut betrachteten Tempo und mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Wahrlich hörenswert!

Such great music. Always this underlying feeling of pain and suffering in Tjajkovskijs (sorry for my Danish spelling) music which surprisingly works as an antidote for the same for the listener. I wish the world he inhabited would have been kinder towards him. Bless his soul and let us all enjoy his great work.

the French horn solo in the second movement is the best I've ever heard. I do not know the name of this wonderful horn player but she interprets as she is written: with sweetness and a lot of feeling, as Tchaikovsky wanted it. I have listened to famous horn players playing this solo and I can say that the sound that she achieves is among the best.
el solo de corno frances en el segundo movimiento, es de lo mejor que he escuchado. No conozco el nombre de esta estupenda trompista pero interpreta como esta escrito: con dulzura y mucho sentimiento, como lo quería Tchaikovsky. He escuchado a famosos trompistas tocando este solo y puedo decir que el sonido que ella logra, está entre los mejores
