  • Hey you guys! This was quite a nice early 70's rock song! You feel the vibe! It is refreshing and it is definitely a song that one can listen to on a daily basis! It is catchy, groovy and we loved it! We loved the vocals, nice guitar riffs and solos, drums were spot on and a groovy bass line! What is not to like? LOL! We hope you like our reaction as much as we enjoy reacting to this video! And as always, stay safe and we'll see you in our next video! We love you guys!

    Thanks for doing this. CCR was a great band and this is a great song. I hope you do more from them.
    Here's a quick story. My oldest daughter (16) started walking just before she turned one. One morning she comes strolling in our bedroom wearing nothing but a diaper. My radio is on, and the next song that plays is "Down on the Corner" by CCR. She raises her arms in the air and starts dancing....OMG I'll always remember that...😊😊😊

    Please do more Credence, you guys will be amazed by their swampy blues style. "Born On The Bayou", "Green River", "I heard It through The Grapevine" , "Midnight Special" are a few to get you started. Oh ya, almost forgot, " Keep On Chooglin"" is a rocker.

    Another great reaction to a beautiful choice! CCR was only together for about four years, but they put up as many or more original hits in a four year period than most any other band in history. You can’t go wrong with discovering more fabulous music by CCR and John Fogerty! Keep on bringing great music of the past to your generation ladies. The music you react to is timeless and your discoveries will be shared with many others raised in the 21st Century, a time when the quality of music has waned from the hey-day of stereo, live shows and radio. 👍🏻💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😃

    • @jeremyjohnson8535
      @jeremyjohnson8535 3 года назад +1

      I have always been bummed that I can't ever see a concert. I mean Fogerty plays, but for years he wouldn't play the band's stuff. But awhile back, he said he came to the conclusion that his new stuff sounds like his old stuff, so avoiding bvb thg he bands styles was a bit pointless. I saw Page, Plant, and Jones, but it just wasn't the same. The whole band has a vibe that alone, it is just not bvb there. Do I count myself lucky, being a guy born in '76 that hot to hear most of the band live, ya. They were great. Plants voice was good. But, I wish I could have seen the whole band back at thg heir best.

    • @detrockcity3
      @detrockcity3 2 года назад

      You really like some of that stuff on the last one? Where they split up songwriting?
      You don't, do you?

    • @jeremyjohnson8535
      @jeremyjohnson8535 2 года назад

      I mostly like their top hits. It is rare that I like an entire album. I mostly like their early stuff. When bands start fighting and pulling their sound in different direction just wrecks every thing. I mean do a solo album on the side and get what people think of bv that. The different routes p DDT problem has ruined many a band. Well, until they get old, sober, want th heir glory days back, and need money. Sometimes you just have to eat crow and leave the past in the past. Even whiskey mellows with age.

    Their most famous song was probably “Proud Mary” from 1969. What made CCR great was that every song on every album was either incredible or good, they don’t have any songs that suck. They put out several albums between 1968 and 1972 when they broke up. Their music has been playing on radio stations all over the world since then.
    You should listen to the songs “Tombstone Shadow” and “Sinister Purpose” two of their best songs that never got played on the radio but their fans love. John Fogerty still performs and his voice still sounds the same and he he can play guitar even better now.

    Hi Danas Faith this was CCR's first hit this was the short version. They made 6 very successful albums between 1968 and 1970 must be a record producing many hit singles often even out selling the Beatles. they made a less successful album in 1972 missing one member then that was it for them. Corrupt management and infighting in the group ended CCR

    CCR: Simple but unique songs played perfectly. Two suggestions, one totally fun, one totally somber. "Lookin' out my Back Door" is one of best sweet songs ever, again perfect. The other is my favorite, I believe CCR's best, and became a movie starring young Nck Nolte and Michael Moriarty. Great movie. The song is "Who'll Stop the Rain?" one of the greatest American ballads ever written. The movie is hard to watch, brutal. But it is masterful and worth seeing just for the ending, which is a tribute to Vietnam veterans. It is about the erasure of innocence and how that does *not* defeat us... at least not all of us. I'll copy the lyrics below:
    Long as I remember the rain been comin' down
    Clouds of mystery pourin' confusion on the ground
    Good men through the ages tryin' to find the sun
    And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain?
    I went down Virginia, seekin' shelter from the storm
    Caught up in the fable, I watched the tower grow
    Five Year Plans and New Deals, wrapped in golden chains
    And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain?
    Heard the singers playin', how we cheered for more
    The crowd had rushed together, tryin' to keep warm
    Still the rain kept pourin', fallin' on my ears
    And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain?

    Songwriters: John C. Fogerty

    This song is actually about twice as long as this - what you heard was the "single-edit" version. In the second half, John Fogerty's guitar gets pretty gloriously unhinged.
    This wasn't an early 70's song, it was a mid-60's song. CCR were a hit machine in the 60's: every couple of months they'd put out a single that would immediately become an all-time classic. The songs are short - they had to be to get played on the radio - but each one leaves the listener fully satisfied.
    The closest analogue I can think of to CCR would be Boston: every song they recorded was a gem. And because the songs were so short, it meant every album had a dozen gems.

    Thank you, girls, for adding CCR to your impressive set list of bands you have reacted to! When you eventually get back to another song by the band please look for "Someday Never Comes" or "Lookin' Out My Back Door""! I also thought of another song by a group you haven't reacted to yet that I am sure you will love! Give "And When I Die" by Blood Sweat and Tears a chance! At least have your advance scout check it out - you two are just carrying that guy - making him look great! Best of luck to you as always, and stay healthy!!

    Nice new intro. Jon Foggerty the lead singer and main writer is the only person in music to ever be sued for plagiarizing himself.

      @@aefadv468 It happened in the 80's, I think it was CBS, they said his solo song "Old Man Down the Road " sounded too much like one of his CCR songs. Google it.

      @@davidathans905 I looked the case up, Fantasy Inc. Records who had CCR until its disbandment in 1972 with the song Run Through The Jungle vs John Fogerty's Old Man Down The Road in his sole album Centerfield. The Court ruled in favor of Fogerty for not infringement on Run Through The Jungle. In my opinion Fantasy Inc records wanted to in a cheep and chessy way to get money out of Forgerty maybe because the Label was going bankrupt!!!

    Written and originally recorded by Dale Hawkins in 1957. Dale's brother Ronnie was also a musician, and his backing band went on to fame as "The Band".

    This was actually recorded in 1957 by a Singer named Dale Hawkins. They also covered other R & B/Blues Songs. I Put A Spell On You by Screaming Jay Hawkins, I Heard It Through The Grapevine originally Done by Gladys Knight & The Pips (1966), then Marvin Gaye (1967), you also hear the influence of Little Richard with Travellin Band. Their Songs have also been featured in The Big Chill, and Forrest Gump.

I would like to recommend the following reactions: Learning to Live by Dream Theater (progressive metal band), Horrorscope by Overkill (80's Metal) and Sleepless Nights by King Diamond (live at the Fillmore).
