With the state of California's abandoned rail, Zorrito is going to need an upgrade. More horsepower, more brush cutting attachments, more seats for workers. Perhaps you need a highrail pickup truck?
I keep a pair of long handled branch loppers on my tractor when I’m brush hogging under low hanging tree branches. One snip and done and no battery to run low. The reciprocating saw would be good on much larger branches though. I'll have to remember that.
Grew up in Fullerton. I remember the trains running on this like to the Hunts Tomato plant. Late 1960’s there was a track paralleling Imperial hwy in Brea. There is a caboose near Imp hwy and yorba Linda rd
Yes. In addition to first investigating that they are not active, I also look to see if they are polished or completely oxidized, just in case, thanks.
BNSF should purchase this part of the line so that way there is something that can run through there. It looks really sad seeing nothing go by those tracks especially that they’re still there to this day. I hope someday these tracks are back in service.
@@Nightwalker-because before a local used to serve this line a few days out of the week and they don’t run fast because this truck was never really busy since it was ran by a Union Pacific local.
The railroads were there first. Most of the railroads in the United States were completed by 1880, and the population of California was only around 1 million people. Los Angeles had a population of 11,000 in 1880. Automobiles woukd not start arriving for 40 more years
Respect for this trip, but the vegetation wasn't exactly on your side.......
The Pacific Electric went through Fullerton. The right of ways are now bike/hiking trails. There are several unused rail lines in OC, they should reuse for passenger rail
@ I believe it’s BNSF line. The paths are on the PE right of way. There were two distinct railroads right next to each other. The PE went through the neighborhood and around the courthouse parking lot then over Harbor/Spadra the along Berkeley

Thanks for another ride along Arch!! That's what you call "fun exercise".
Very interesting ride. Thx 4 sharing .
Cannot have more fun than this. This type of rail ride can be very popular and hopefully the state will not interfere.
They are having fun for free.... sure there will be intervention soon. Even worse, they are making money with it from youtube.
You fellas worked hard for this trip down thru Fullerton. Good Video.
Thank you
Those palm trees look sharp! Lots of work done by you all for this video trip. Thanks for showing us.
@@frederickbooth7970 they need a pair of gloves 😵💫
Thank you for cleaning the tracks
De nada! It's part of the fun.

Looks like more tree branches then there were train tracks!
Polished tracks = active tracks, well observed Archie. Despite the setbacks, this was a beautiful trip. Thanks for the ride.

That would give him one less rail to ride. He only rides dead tracks, otherwise he would risk injury by train
@@Nightwalker-because before a local used to serve this line a few days out of the week and they don’t run fast because this truck was never really busy since it was ran by a Union Pacific local.
There is an abandoned train track with tunnels from Healdsburg to willits ca ...with a new station too right along 101 freeway
I would definitely carry a chainsaw and some other tools for clearing brush off the tracks. Fun to watch these videos
Here in the UK it is very rare for rail to meet road. Over in the US they don't care and run a railway through a town or city streets.
In California, it’s much more likely that the towns, and their attendant roads, grew around these now disused railroads.

Archie. Where is your PPE? Gloves? Rake? Pitch fork? Maybe mount a hedge trimmer. Great fun. It made me tired just to watch.

Sad to see all the abandoned tracks. Teamsters keeping the railways down. They're bad for business.
Yes, you need gloves and a chain saw on your trips and maybe a shovel. Oh you have one.
great work! i would suggest some gloves. and if you like to step up the game, full forrester gear plus a beefy chainsaw.
That must be a really old track. Look at how bad the ties look.
The rails probably have a date on them. The Santa Fe railroad reached Fullerton in 1887
It almost looks like people are using the tracks as the place to dump their yard waste

That line they are on was the Pacific Electric Railway branch line to Fullerton built in the early 1900 hundreds .

You should bill the City of Fullerton, State and or Railroad for your landscaping that you did to clear the tracks 😅😂
How many years has this railway line been abandoned?
1990
Cool but our trolleys are better here in Philippines🤗
Search PNRBALLZ (TROLLEY RIDE)
The line was built as a Pacific Electric trolley line to Fullerton.
How many miles of track is that line
3 miles
