"'He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." -Revelation 21:4
my son who was like 9 yrs old at the time sign this this song at church one sunday my soul cryed with joy that day ,God how I wish my faimly had not got tore apart
I'm aware what atheism is, I've read several atheist books and haven't found a compelling argument in any of them yet. I have only "created" my own reality to the extent that you have done the same for yourself, after all you cannot prove the existence of others around you, you only have experiential evidence for them existing. The same way that I have experiential evidence for the existence of God, because I have experienced him
I truly admire you for your belief, I honestly do. And I agree with most of your counter arguments because you have been taking my arguments and attacking a more weak form of them. I cannot argue you into faith and thats not my intention, I just want you to be well informed in your belief because there clearly is better philosophy to back up what you believe.
It can't be just for the mentally insane-if God reveals himself to someone and if their cognitive functions are functioning properly than they are rational in believing. It would be irrational to not believe if God reveals himself to someone. And if God truly does exist, which we believe he does because he has revealed himself to us, then we are not only rational in believing but also warranted in our belief.
Just recognize that there isn't any empirical evidence that I exist. Or that the world didn't come into existence 10 minutes ago complete with all it's memories and rusting medal etc. I recognize the need for empirical evidence in many things, but it cannot apply to all things in life
You're making a big assumption that if you are a Christian you believe God speaks audibly to you-This was the case to many people in the Old Testament but most Christians today would say that God does not speak to them in that way (because like you said, you'd have to be insane!). I've never heard God's voice audibly, but that doesn't mean he hasn't revealed himself to me. God reveals himself through his creation, which is obviously very tangible
You're now assuming that God only exists to fill the gaps that science cannot fill, which you are also saying that science has no gaps. Science does not disprove the Bible, or the nature of God which is described in the Bible, there is no true science that can do this. If you think that the Christian religion and science cannot exist together i would venture to say you have not accurately studied scripture and the Christian religion
