God Chris there was an ad calling Leah a a bad person with a video of her father telling the world that she didn't cover a medical bill he says she said she would pay. Really he doesn't talk about abandoning her , her sister and mother and paying no child support. If he had been a MAN and paid for his children they would have not turned to COS! So he is the reason she is doing her work now! Irony that the church cannot see! Keep up your great work Chris. You and Leah and Mike have a vocation to see that the truth be told!

I could be mistaken, but I think that they (the upper echelons of the COS) can both "see" and have cynically exploited it. Due to the fact that Scientologists aren't really supposed to speak to each other about "embittered apostates", those who are still members are able to gloss over the reason the Reminis became involved with them in the first place.
Also, as an Australian, it's struck me that the "My mother and father separated and my mother and siblings ended up on Staff at the COS/in the Sea Org" story is all too common among ex-Scientologists. At least here there's a Single Parents Benefit - even if those on it all too often live below the poverty line, there is access to a safety net of sorts. It seems to me that Scientology once gladly lured such parents and their children "in" to use as a source of cheap/slave labour and worse, and it's distasteful in the extreme.

I will most definitely sign and share this petition!! Where is the link? Btw, I was the Asst Controller for a 501(c)3 church for 5 years, back when I was doing corporate accounting. I cannot believe that CoS ever was able to fully qualify for a 501(c)3 exemption in the first place!!!! My first thought is that the department in the IRS that approves this was somehow bullied/blackmailed/bought. I can't explain in any detail to any one of these scenarios, it's just a gut feeling. Please post the petition link! Thank you!

I keep looking for someone to tell me about CoS's current finances. Their image has taken a hit, they seem to be losing people, so you'd think their finances have to be in trouble at some point.
I'm told they have big reserves, but they have big expenses, even if they don't pay the Sea Org kids. Battalions of lawyers and permanent PI's on retainer, for a start. It has to start eating at the reserves at some point, don't it?

+jim pollard hard to say since there is zero financial transparency offered from the Church of Scientology.

The IRS met its match with $cientolgy's ability to wage war thru the courts. The IRS realizes that $cientology can still wield this kind of power over them, so I feel it is unlikely they will make any changes.

Hey Chris, great videos, great podcasts! I wonder if there is a chance of Jeffrey getting interviewed on "The Aftermath" S2, where he could invite millions to sign up to that petition?

To share this petition further (when I signed they still needed 2000) can you suggest Jeffrey Augustine do similar interview with Seth Andrews on YT The Thinking Atheist channel? Seems like something those folks would get behind...

Nobody is going to take Jeffrey Augustine serious with his church of scientology tax
exempt enquiry - or whatever you want to call it.
He hasn't got the force of character, the drive to be taken seriously.
If he is the best that we could hope for then the church of scientology can rest easy.

+BearCubster whatever. I don't know why you are posting a personal attack against my podcast guest, especially one so obviously wrong. Jeff has been at this for years and will continue the fight until it's won. Your criticism is entirely misplaced.
