Hey guys welcome back to the channel!! Sorry i've been kind of mia lol, long story short a video I've been working on has been having some copyright hiccups so in the meantime I wanted to talk about Madame Web LOL. (that other vid should be out soon tho). But seriously idk if yall have also been seeing the rollout for this damn movie but i've been fascinated by every facet of it from the merch(??) to the press interviews to the actual movie itself. And of course none other than our definitively ranked nepo baby dakota johnson is starring so of course I was going to tune in... People were also calling it the new Morbius which listen! I felt left out last time because I didn't watch that one! So we're becoming Madames today...
I'll admit going into it I really didn't think it was going to be as ridiculous as the early reviews were saying but just.. wow lol. It was like.. kind of fun though?? It reminded me a lot of watching the 365 days movies with yall so I thought it'd be fun to do a video on it since it's been like over a year since I've done a movie video on here lol. This is sliiightly different tho, since the movie is still in theatres I can't include any clips of it in the video, kind of like when I reviewed the first After movie ions ago so this time around I tried to do some workarounds to see how it would turn out. If you have seen the movie though let me know what you thought of it!! Was it like so bad it was kind of good for you too or just plain bad lmao.

I love how the plot just revolves around Dakota Johnsons's character just being resentful that her mom DIED. Not that her mom abandonded her or neglected her, but that she died like how are you gonna hate your mom for getting beat tf up then passing away lmao.
Her character hates her mom because she went on a trip near the end of her pregnancy when she knew it was dangerous for both her and the baby. She doesn't know that, *spoiler alert* , her mother was trying to find a cure to save her unborn child. It's cheesy, but that's kind of the movie's whole shtick.
@@AJaeH that makes more sense to be resentful of her mom doing dangerous stuff at 9 months pregnant, but still very funny to me lol. Thank you for that explination though, I'm sure the movie directors conveyed this plot *super well* and didn't make it vague or hard to understand for the viewers/s

I liked the backstory and the reveal of the reason for the dangerous travel a lot. Her mother argument with the doctor was great. Not the best super hero movie, but definitely a good one.

My favorite part of Madame web was when she tells the girls “you guys should meet my sister.” And then she looks directly at the camera and says “her name is Charlotte” and then they reveal that Madame web was actually a prequel to Charlotte’s Web.

I’ve always hated the Charlottes Web book, there’s literally never been a time I’ve read it without crying myself sick. And the worst part is that I hate spiders, so idk why I feel sorry for her 😭 (sorry this is off topic)

My dad was SO excited for this movie and took our whole family to see it on Valentine's Day. After watching the whole thing, I spent the car ride home trying to defend it because I didn't want him to feel bad.
Also I was the only one out of the four of us to realize that Ben was THE Uncle Ben, and that the baby at the end was Spider-Man

- How did Baby Web make it to NYC? Did the spider besties fly with her and then abandon her? Did they mail her? Why didn’t they raise her in the Amazon?
- How much did Mother Web actually know about researching spiders before her trip to the Amazon? Did she also have clairvoyance and see some 2024 Facebook post about spiders curing neuromuscular disorders?
- Why did the NSA lady tell Ezekiel the actual passcode? Sure, you could say that the venom impaired her cognition so she immediately gave it up. But that doesn’t excuse her having her whole ass badge on the nightstand

as a lover of bad movies, this movie was a blast to watch. i had to hold in my laughter to not annoy the other audience members. i think in a few years people will revisit this movie and really respect/appreciate the cringe in the way they do twilight or the room

I would say that Morbius while also bad became a meme pretty quickly basically being a monolith of bad movies, madam web probably won’t have that impact but the cringe is still cringe it’s up there just not the peak of all cringe

No worries on missing out on any Morbius jokes, part of the joke was that no one saw it. Like they put it in theaters twice in hopes that the memeification would get people to watch it and allow it to profit, and it didn't, and that's hilarious.

I felt that the time I watched The Winter Soldier and they made a point to pause in the movie to say that the evil scientist working for Hydra was not German but Swiss. And I was like: Hey I guess it's the American way to tell us they're mad for the banks things that happened in the beginning of the 2010's haha. It was the first time I watched a movie where it seemed really important to tell that the villain was from my country. It was kinda funny (because screw HSBC haha)

Madame Web was a blind elderly paralyzed clairvoyant who made several appearances in the Spiderman cartoon in the 90's voiced by Stan Lee's wife. She used to guide Peter by giving him advice. She never did any physical superhero stuff. It would of been better if she was in a Spiderman movie played by Helen Mirren instead of giving her own movie which clearly flopped.

Madame Web is awesome! The messy press tour, the movie, the fact that when I saw it in theaters one of my nephews ran away from our seats forcing his mother to chase him around the cinema for 50 minutes before settling down to watch the last 40. It’s all so important to me.

I feel like I saw the movie twice while watching it once. The most inferring thing about it was once the story started going forward, we are suddenly transported back 20 mins in the film. So I am think the script was for a 30 mins short that will all the back tracking ended up being a feature length film. The actors did the best they could with the worst script imaginable.

The final battle was so funny to me. The warehouse it takes place at shows up earlier in the movie. It's full of fireworks (?) And caught on fire (which is why web and co get called away from that baby shower). One of the firefighters makes a comment that it could turn into a bomb at any moment. Despite that, in the final battle, nobody cleared all those fireworks! Also the villain is crushed by the pepsi sign that was on top of the warehouse. Cinema.
