Have you ever tried a paternoster or would you? 🤔

You did well to find one that was still publicly accessible: these days a lot of the remaining paternosters tend to be in buildings that are not open to, or at least not frequented by, the general public. I suppose they think it would be too risky to let the public loose on them as they are less likely to be familiar with them and know how to use them safely than the regular users of such buildings. And even if the buildings themselves are open to the public, the paternosters are increasingly being barricaded off to prevent unauthorised use and you need a staff ID card or visitor's pass to access them (if visitors who have signed in are allowed to use them).

Very nice video and thanks for the shout-out! The five paternosters in Copenhagen are located at Axelborg, Christiansborg, KVUC Vognmagergade, Frederiksberg Rådhus and the fifth one is in Danske Bank headquarters near Holmens Kanal. There is also a peternoster in the hospital in Vejle. Really nice to see others film elevators in Denmark. There are not many who do that. Please let me know when you find more old elevators in Copenhagen. Thanks!

Awesome, thanks so much for the info & for watching! Have you managed to ride/see the "hidden" or inaccessible Paternosters in Christiansborg/Danske Bank? 🤭 Or are they totally off limits?

@@ErininCopenhagen Oh there are places in Copenhagen where i have not explored yet. And even the places i have been i often find new stuff. Yes i have seen both the paternosters you mention, although that was many years ago. I'm sure you can get in there if you ask really nice and explain the interests. That's how i got in the Danske Bank building. Would be nice to see them again and document them on video. Another place on my list is the Royal Danish Theatre. Seeing the monarks own private elevator would be the ultimate thing to experience

I did but only by accident and I was so scared 😭 Haha. I'd read online you should never, ever go over the top of them and then this one had no warning when you were approaching the top!! So I can confirm, you do not land on your head 😜

The 'Electric Company Athens-Piraeus' had this type of elevator in the 1950s-1960s in downtown Athens. Lots of fun for youngsters!

Hey, oh no what a shame! I don't know if you're local but they're opening the building up for a weekend in March as part of a special celebration for Copenhagen getting named world's best architectural city this year. If you're around, check out DAC's website for more info 😊 Hope you manage to see it!
