      So glad it’s useful! I found it really hard to find info when I started so it’s a video I’ve wanted to make for a while! I tried to share as much info as I could think of 😆😍 good luck designing!

    Thank you so much for this tutorial, I was having a really hard time getting mine to work out. For those who are using Procreate, I noticed that the canvas width could be no larger than 16384, so I simply halved it twice (as well as the height to keep the dimensions balanced) to get it under that limit and the template fit perfectly. So your canvas should be 10335W x 531H. :)

      Thanks very much for the comment! I hadn’t thought of the procreate limitations so that you for updating! I’ll be sure to mention that if I ever make a part two! ❤️❤️❤️

    Another tip that you haven't mentioned about scaling I thought I would mention: scaling looks nicer if it's halved or doubled, rather than something that isn't a nice clean fraction which contributes to blurring. If you know your final output size, you can make your canvas size twice, or four, or eight times that. Notice how my scale suggestions are an exponent of two.

    • @fizzandflourish
      @fizzandflourish  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the tip! I’m not sure how many times scaled the canvas is exactly, but this is the size recommended by manufacturers so I think it’s as high res as possible. Great tip about it being an exponent of two though - didn’t know that!

    RGB is lovely, I agree. It's designed for monitors and screens, uses white as the toner. CMYK you're right dulls, that's because printers use black ink. Pity the printing industry hasn't worked a way to use white instead of black.

    • @fizzandflourish
      @fizzandflourish  6 месяцев назад +1

      You're right, you'd think there would be a way by now to print RGB! I just find the colours so much more vibrant. I never knew the white and black ink part though - learn something new every day! Thanks!

    • @melinnamba
      @melinnamba 6 месяцев назад +1

      Printers can't work in RGB. It's due to physics. There are two diffrent types of colour mixing, addative and subtractive. Addative colour mixing is possible when you add more light to crate colour, i.e. when you put up RGB lighting. You start with black, aka no light as your base colour and add diffrent coloured LEDs to create diffrent colours. However most objects don't emmit light, they can only reflect it. That's where subtractive colour mixing happens. When you are drawing in a sketchbook for example you start with a white page, that's capable of reflecting the whole spectrum. By adding dyes you are restiricting the wavelengths that can be reflected from the page, therefore subtracting light to mix colours.
      Everthing that dosn't emmit light will never be able to work with an RGB colour profil. And everthing that emmits light can never use CMYK. Technically screens don't use CMYK, they can only approximate it. That's why you should always do hard proofs before commiting to a large print run, there could still be slight diffrences between what you see an screen and what shows up in the finished product, because of the diffrent types of colour mixing.
      And by the way: The printing industry has worked out a way to pint with white ink. That's why it's possible to print on coloured surfaces. But why would you use white ink to print on white surfaces?

    Thanking the Algorith. for letting this video to show up on my suggested videos. I sooo want to do stuff to sell at some point.
    Stickers, pins and now washitapes too...I just never get around to actually do them lol
    But this I so wanna try out, at least for myself, so thank you so much for the video

Next video is about manufacturing them and hopefully that will be ready by Monday! I’ve got so many things I want to make too, but they also seem to be things I never get around to! Maybe this year is the year…😆😍

    Hi! Do you have a option to "duplicate layer -> convert to small object" on procreate? >

    • @fizzandflourish
      @fizzandflourish  Месяц назад

      Hey! Do you mean smart object? So you can convert the select to ‘bicubic’ (bottom right after making a selection) and then scaling, but you still lose resolution. The only way to ensure you don’t lose resolution, is doing it via photoshop I think! Worth a try tho, see what you think!

    Painters also use washi tape. It removes without damaging the paper.

    Is there a reason you aren't just using a vector program? Like illustrator
    So the image can be sized up or down as big or small as possible without losing resolution or becoming pixelated. And if I remember correctly, you could put a pixel image into illustrator and convert it to a vector image.

    • @fizzandflourish
      @fizzandflourish  6 месяцев назад

      Hey! I’d always thought that you couldn’t achieve the same textured and traditionally realistic look with vector - I could be totally wrong though because the last time I tried was years ago! I always thought vector worked well for certain styles but not when trying to get a traditional look (and when importing paintings etc). But will definitely give it a go if it’s an option 😍
