    I hope we never lose the love of seeing steam running alongside those pink cliffs of Devon?
    What a thrill to be that close to an express steam train in the 21 century, walking on the track side walkway the open sea on the one side rail track the other!
    Thanks as always for sharing Alan, your contribution in saving all this footage is very much appreciated .. 👍

      Couldn't agree more with your sentiments regarding the sea wall at Dawlish but the long term plan for improvements at the Dawlish Warren end including re-routing the footpath does not bode well! Always a pleasure to get your knowledgeable input Terry and thank you for you kind support. Best wishes, Alan

    Excellent footage there Alan of the Scot working hard. The wreath on the front of the Scot, is memory of former DB Cargo Steam Traction Inspector Gareth Jones, who sadly passed away a few days before.

      Hi and thank you for your kind and very much appreciated feedback. Also the information on the wreath which I have now added to the description and credited to you. Best regards, Alan

    Great efforts and skill, to cope with local & distant calamities. If you hadn’t referred to the distractions, deviations & potential dilemmas I probably wouldn’t have noticed your angst.
    Great subject; great planning, panning and coping, too! Thanks for sharing.

    Very good, Alan. 'Ansum, in fact. Your camera gives a good sound recording - even at half volume on my computer, entering Teignmouth is very loud (for me). Thanks for the time out to film and edit the video, and, no, I wouldn't have noticed your predicaments.

    At least the seawall at Dawlish is high enough to stop the waves from crashing over the tracks

    Big heads and noisy neighbours, people just have no respect anymore😂😂😂 Scotty with blood and custards, what a sight especially clearing the track litter at Totnes. Alan, you're a perfectionist in the art of filming and to what I refer to as "a job for Photoshop"!! Is that it from down yonder this year??? Thanks as usual for your artistry you farmer charmer!!! Best wishes, take care👍👍👍

    Sorry I don't get round to your clips oftener, Alan; trouble is, I'm getting nostalgic about H S T s ???!!!😲 I must be mad... Like the way you film that stretch between Totnes and Plymouth, using bushes and pylons to actually enhance the shots of the train. a celebration of Devon scenery as well as steam overall And an unquestioning Like! 😀

      Hi David, thank you so much for such kind comments, I really appreciate it. As for H.S.T's; you still have the GWR Castle sets and don't Cross Country still use them? Best regards, Alan

    • @davidcrook5511
      @davidcrook5511 Год назад

      @@Steamclips I believe the CrossCountry HSTs are being withdrawn this weekend and the Castle sets will finish early next year. Just wait till the Voyagers are withdrawn; all the enthusiasts will be pursuing them!!

      Interesting David. I must admit that I will miss the H.S.T's to travel on, they were airy and quiet. I remember especially travelling to Bristol Patchway for a return to Swansea on their very first day of normal operation in the region and the terrible pain your ears got going past the safety alcoves in the Severn Tunnel. Thankfully this was later sorted! I will definitely NOT miss cramped, uncomfortable and noisy Voyagers!! Best regards, Alan

    Sorry, no story today, it's my Dad's birthday, and I'm grieving for him. He committed suicide in 1999. He would have loved to capture your shots of Royal Scot, she's an LMS beauty, make no mistake.
