When God created Whitney he definitely broke the mold. There will never be another Whitney Houston. Never Ever. Now Whitney, you can rest in eternal peace. Thank you sharing your talent and voice with us.
My mom heard Whitney Houston sing in a church with her mother when Whitney was still a teenager. After the performance, my mom went up to her and said, "Ms. Houston, you are so beautiful, and have the best voice I've ever heard in my life. You're going to be a big star." She said Whitney was soft-spoken and responded, "Why, thank you so much."
Listen to the calrity in her voice. She was just a rare instrument when you total up all the qualities her voice possessed. I can't think of another singer who had all of these.....clarity,pronounciation,diction,inflections,timber,power,tone....she had it all in one voice. Very rare.
I saw her open for Luther Vandross in Houston. I was blown away. I'm not sure if she sang this song... My favorite Whitney song is "Someone For Me" . I will forever remember that voice. Her inflection.. Contagious. My Heart. I am devestated by Her passing.
I first heard this song on the radio KUTE 101.9 (Los Angeles) back in 1983 and felt a chill run up and down my spine. I still feel the same chills listening to it today (41 years later). Unbelievable talent.

@ 5:01 I love that final vocalization of " Eternal Love" that she seemingly forces so gracefully from her throat only to follow up in the next bridge with a flawless falsetto. Whitney sung this like the goddess she always was.
R.I.P. Ms Houston. True early fans in Washington D. C. (and probably elsewhere) remember this magnificent song being played in clubs BEFORE her ARISTA debut! After a long, sweaty night of full on clubbing this way the song that sent many a club goer on the merry way! They hungered for more, so, by the time that debut was released, she had a VERY LOYAL fan base already standing by! The rest was history! I was there, and have been a VERY BIG FAN ever since!!!
I have XM radio, they play Whitney but I think there should be a Whitney Houston radio channel. Simply........Just Whitney! Because there are rare gems like this one that aren't being played on the radio. I love you Whitney. Peace
+Sam Pottorff I'm pretty sure Pandora has an all radio channel dedicated for Whitney Houston. Same for Michael Jackson and many other artists of the 80's.
She is so greatly missed...she had that special magic that singers today are very much lacking. Just the sound of Whitney's voice makes me feel good....what a most special gift she had.
This appeared on the "Paul Jabara and Friends" album that came out in 1982. It heralded the appearance of a new star. All the djs were buzzing about this cut. Her voice is even purer than on "Saving All My Love" and that's saying something! She was truly The Voice of the last 25 years of the 20th century. The moment I heard this in 1982, I knew she'd become a star.
I was in New York in 1983 and was given this album by one of the Weather Girls, who had a song on the album. It was the first time I heard "the voice". I was certain she'd be a star.
Im in love with this song. I remember hearing this song on one of those "midnight love" radio stations and I had to find it. And when my fiance' and I was wondering if I was going to marry him (long story) he sung this to me on a video. Well we got married soon after that.

It's only for you and me
You're all that I've got
Just say you love me
And that no one else

Wow! First time hearing this..what a gem!
This sounds like phyllis Hyman style music.
detman7777777 Phyllis probably could have sung it.
Stephanie Mills sang this song with such emotion passion and
A voice so strong. Whitney sung it low no power. At 16 a soft girl
voice. I love you Whitney may
You 🌷R. I. P🌷
Stephanie Mills is my girl. I love her voice.
Mae B. I think Whitney did it better, her’s was just more musical and sensuous
smooth persuader Phyllis definitely could have sung it. I think she did. I saw both these women sing in person and felt in awe of both of them. A few others who I think could sing this really well are Bobby DeBarge, El DeBarge and Bunny DeBarge. God. Broke the mold. May those who have gone before us RIP.....
@@maeb.9770 Stephanie overdid the song IMHO.
She is the woman I wanted to meet in my life ... I never married, because I've never met her on my way...
You like the image, not the person !
