Ive chosen this song as my wedding song long time ago. And there's a reason as to why. The message is absolutely beautiful. In addition, two of my childhood favorites are singing their hearts out. R.I.P. Whitney and Teddy.
You could NOT have selected a better ..well Done !! Whitney was my favorite female singer throughout the 80's and 90's and up until the present day she has had no equal in the world ..
One of the great romantic duets of all time. Teddy & Whitney gave us 6 minutes of pure magic. If it's late nite when I put the headphones on and play this, I often lose it ...
I cry hysterically every time I hear this song and I don’t know why. I was around 5 yrs old when it came out. GOOD music has so much power. Make that GREAT music
I will never forget the first time I played this song for my then boyfriend who I was anticipating our first time making love together. ❤Oddly he had been reluctant about initiating any intimacy between us. At the time I found it frustrating because it seemed like the guy was always wayyy ahead of the girl- at least in my experience and we had told each other the L word even though we had not been together for more than a couple months or so. Honestly I didn’t even feel an attraction towards him until I guess I saw his good qualities and realized he had the right resume points for marriage. I grew up in the 80s when the norm was to be dating someone during hs or college in my family’s case, and I was the youngest daughter of 3 so had watched as my older siblings kind of set the standard. It seemed during that era, it was less about making certain you were marrying the right person, and more about the person you happened to be dating during the typical marriage time-you went to college , and whoever you happened to be dating in a serious commitment type way, especially if you shared the basics values that were important for you and your family, if you had similar upbringings, socio-economic status & there were no obvious issues to suggest problems down the road, you were good to go. In our case, we had been in other relationships (I was actually on rebound 😳😳when we met & several wks after we were dating “exclusively “, he showed up to see me with a hickey it didn’t appear he was trying to hide. Should have been my giant red flag 🚩 and time to say goodbye but the thought of starting over again was too daunting & time consuming & I could end up with worse. Or God forbid NOBODY!!!!!! So we kept it going, and oh btw after a bit of coaxing the night I had the song on my efforts finally worked. I wasnt blown away by any means but at least the 1st time happened and it just kept going. In fact I was ready for a break. And so was my roommate. Poor thing ☹️🙄🙄So we were officially an item, got engaged 8 months after meeting and the wedding date was exactly one year later. I was ecstatic to plan the perfect wedding and got so caught up in that I hadn’t given much thought to what was going to happen after. We agreed about having kids but I guess we didn’t really narrow it down to when. I stopped using birth after the honeymoon & got pregnant within 6 months w the first. The 2nd came along almost 4 years later after our stint with marriage counseling. We made it through 21yrs together with 9 moves. But alas middle age crisis and a younger woman entered and that was the end. 💔That was 15 yrs ago & he still won’t even text me. He also took my baby girl. Moral of the story: trust your heart but mostly your gut. No 2nd chances unless there’s true remorse, then play it cool and safe. Don’t rush it- any of it. It’ll happen if it should. HOWEVER I think the last few gen’s are Waaaaayyyyyy too picky and they are missing the best years of their lives and they may wait too long and end up alone. If they don’t truly mind fine, but through the course of life, ppl want a life partner if not a family, for tons of reasons. Marriage really was designed for a reason. ❤❤❤❤❤

"Hold Me" , was written by Michael Masser and Linda Creed, while the production was overseen by Masser who used one of his earlier arrangements that he had produced for "In Your Arms", a song recorded by singer DIANA ROSS for her 1982 album Silk Electric, on the duet. "Hold Me" is a ballad duet performed by American singers Teddy Pendergrass and Whitney Houston from the former's eight studio album Love Language (1984). "Hold Me" was Houston's first ever single of her career and was later included in Houston's 1985 self-titled debut album.

Tonight the magic has begun
So won't you hold me, touch me
