- George Benson entered this world on March 22, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA. Given a ukelele as a gift, he was playing it to earn a few pennies at the age of seven! Rumour has it that he was playing guitar at the age of eight in a blind pig (unlicensed bar) that got shut down by the authorities. A true prodigy at the age of 10, he released his first single, "She Makes Me Mad" as Little Georgie on RCA Victor label which you can listen to at • Video He entered high school and continued learning jazz with organist Jack McDuff. His first full album was "The New Boss Guitar" recorded at the age of 21, then "It's Uptown with the George Benson Quartet" and then "The George Benson Cookbook". Jazz legend Miles Davis hired the young Benson to work with him and featured his special brand of guitar playing on his song "Paraphanalia" on the 1968 LP "Miles In The Sky" and shortly thereafter signed to Verve Records. Moving from Verve to A&M and then on to CTI, he was able to expand his fan base so much that when he signed to Warner Brothers in 1976, it resulted in a platinum album that is considered to be his finest achievement ever. The first single released was "This Masquerade" a Leon Russell song where George displayed his vocal talents, something he did infrequently since he considered himself to be a guitarist first and foremost. The second song issued was "Breezin'" a beautiful music type jazz tune that now is considered drum and bass. The floodgates of popularity opened and George was soon in demand, appearing on Stevie Wonder's "Another Star" and toured with Minnie Riperton (#1 pop hit Lovin' You). He was asked to write a song for the Muhammad Ali bio-pic "The Greatest" and came up with another classic R&B tune, "The Greatest Love Of All" that peaked at #24, but went all the way to #1 for three weeks when Whitney Houston released her version in 1985. A live version of "On Broadway" was released as a single and won a Grammy for the album that spawned it, "Weekend In L.A.). His pop breakthrough came via Qunicy Jones and his Qwest label with a Rod Temperton penned tune, "Give Me The Night". That song went Top 10 on the pop and R&B charts. Benson returned to his Jazz roots but continued recording in an R&B vein and won three platinum and two gold albums in the process.

Breezin' is one of those songs that while you're listening to it, you think, "Man! Could this song just ...not end?" Then along comes DJDiscoCat.
Niiiiiiice.
Damn I miss my parents badly, nuff thanks George Benson for giving great music 🙌🏾❤️💯💯💯

Timeless classic
Wow! George Benson's perfection + DJDiscoCat's mad skills = a masterpiece! Thank you!!
Loved this artist and his amazing ability to make me feel good about life during my down times! Thank you George Benson
THANK YOU for this! I was 9 years old when this song was released and I loved it the moment I heard it -- so much so, that it's my #1 favourite of his he ever made. It helped me through some bad times in my childhood. It was such an exhilarating, yet-soothing, Care-Free song to me. I 'escaped' into a world of reading, art (drawing & painting), and listening to great music, especially this song. To this day I'm still an artist. Also, the late Canadian talk show host Joyce Davidson's (d. 2020) talk show used this song as its theme music. I'd tune in all the time just to listen to it.
I've been searching for this song for the longest!!! Loved this song for years. Was my dad favorite. Now I can ride out to this song

Wow you are super cute ..with all due respect
George is one of the few extremely accomplished guitar players, who hasn't lost sight that music is all about feeling and conveying emotion, and not about showing off your skills (although he has plenty). Maybe it's something to do with him starting off as a singer.
Well said I couldn't of said it any better
Indeed. Well said
Thanks. Merci beaucoup. Rien que du bonheur....

Well good morning to everybody out there how is everybody doing and maybe I should say good morning good evening and good afternoon because I keep forgetting that we're just all over and because of the beautiful time zones you know I guess I'm breathing better today and I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that I actually witnessed a party at a home next door to my last night and these people had not gotten together or seen each other in one year because of the virus they have their own DJ they had the food and I was making my dinner and while I was eating I could hear everything that was going on and then I went on my patio and I even watched and you guys know I'm a little emotional at times and it was just such a breath of his hair to see that it was a coming out party because we've all been stuck in and these people they threw a wonderful wonderful coming out party for family and friends and not only did they enjoy themselves but all of his neighbors did as well and nobody called the police no one needs people give something they usually like send a flyer to the neighbors that need the neighbors know and we just love them for who they are and I just wanted to share that with you because it just goes to show that hopefully we're starting to go in the right direction because this is something that none of us have experience before and this is been a long long road and the song breathing that just was played was by Mr George Benson and it looks like we have our own celebrity in the house and that's the day DJ disco Cal he used to play for a lot of groups in the background music and I've heard a lot of the songs I was introduced to them very very nice so you see you learned something new everyday and that was one of the songs that he played background in and that will be playing a few more if you guys don't mind but I know all the rules and regulations about this virus all over is different but I just want to say from the bottom of my heart to all of you we stuck in your we did what we had to do and we're here and we lost so many including myself but we're here and for those of you out there that still need to get a shot please go and get it because it is so very very important so on that particular note the flexion and you can just see him I'm just I'm happy I'm happy because seeing the people having so much fun with their loved ones people that they didn't know if they would ever even see again just brought a lot of joy into my heart so I want you guys to know I love you and those come it's good better and better and I love it keep sending them to me please because you know I do respond okay that's enough of me let's get on with some music okay thanks guys

Great, Great Mix., I can only see nice images listening the music ....
WOW......what an intro mix...
Telly savalas fue un gran ser humano. Muy solidario y amantes de la familia. Un gran músico como actor. Un buen griego. Era sabio para tomar y llevar la vida. Lo admiro. ❤
You have a true love of the music, in my ham fisted way I tried to create for my own pleasure create remixes as yours with a JVC Cassette Deck, pause stop rewind recording my vinyl to elongate favourite parts, then having saved money I bought a Teac reel to Reel to give me more tools to create what I wanted... I think I still have the cassettes .... oh how I wish I had got the chance to work with the right equipment :( Thanks , good memories.
Ya know, I started editing reel to reel tape in 1996 after learning the basics about marking, trimming and cutting. Once I got the technique down, I was able to edit in my head and then make it happen on tape. Using digital editing programs really simplified the process, I could always go back and make it more precise...but once the tape was cut, that was it. Now I can really Michealangelo out on the remixes...and you are welcome!
@@DJDiscoCat - Specially the Chrome/Metal tapes back then that were so phreaking expensive too. Ha!
This vinyl record video is exactly 09 minutes: and 43 seconds long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The video is earning almost 198,300 worldwide views!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
