    Wonderful post Eric
My biggest Fear has always been, what if I fail, what if I can't do this, as I want to fit in with those I respect and admire, I want their approval, their acceptance. I suppose I see myself as not really good enough to fit in, to gain their acceptance. Now I know that this is crazy talk because these are my thoughts, my thoughts alone and not those of others but it is my honest truth, as I'm getting older I'm understanding this but on occasion these thoughts still creep in before I catch myself.
In the past I've hidden these thoughts in the process, in the training, delaying committing to racing and feeling safe in the day to day world of my running, or I only do what I've done before because I "know" I can do it and it feeds into what I've explained above.

Thanks to your training, i did my first running event in years on Saturday. It was just a 5k in the Georgia mountains, which was very challenging hills for around here. I finished first in my age group. My next big goal for 2025 is im doing the Atlanta half marathon in March. I haven't done anything like that for about 12 years, but you have me so excited about my potential. Im doing your drills, hill repeats, speed sections, and LSD. Ive learned to forefoot strike. Ive bought some Xero and Inov8 based on your suggestions. Ive bought all your books and ive just started reading them. Im soo excited. I may even do a full marathon later in the year, but for now, im preparing for the half. I love your videos man

eye opener .... I had my share of mantras, but they were all kind of self bulling.

Great video and topic Coach! I miss running with you in Jackson Hole. I avoided even attempting my Cool Impossible at Leadville this year. Mindset issues? I'm struggling between trying again and the fear of failure again. This is a nudge on the 'pro' side. Mental tips are welcome!! :)

I really appreciate this video for the actionable ideas and the details for creating meaningful mantras. I am in a running reset coming off an extended injury and have been giving a lot of thoughts to what is most important to me when I return to running soon. My head is spinning with Step 1 daydreaming now. Thank you.

My goal is that I want to run a marathon! I've just ran a half marathon! My local Robinhood Marathon! In England in Nottingham. Last week me and my friend did another half marathon of our own. I had the idea of ruining to our local park run and then doing it and running home. That was a marathon by the time we got home. But I was absolutely obliterated by the end of it. So my goal is to run 15 mi. Get comfortable with that and hopefully get to 20 by summer. I will have to slow right down. To make this happen. I might even have to walk some of it. But all get there! Watching your videos really helps mate!

Thanks for the video. Your advice can help in all areas of my life. For running though the current goal is to build up to a 10k by the beginning of June. I had forgotten about the mantra. I was using that after I read your books. I have not run outside when it is cold and snowy yet. How do you dress for that?

Hey coach, thanks for the ongoing motivation! What kind of shoes are you using this winter for those icy and snowy days?

@@shesouthere1394 glad you dig the videos. On this run I ran in a new pair of Norda 002. They have a great outsole, but maybe not for super steep and icy. On the next video, I did pull out an old pair of Salomon Slab Sense Soft Ground with deeper lugs and they are great. Just can't get them anymore. You might look at Inov8 MudTalon for deep lugs??
