When people start throwing around the term "true fan", people tend to grow very snobby. If people just like Linkin Parks new shit, what's wrong with that? I tend to like all of Linkin Parks discography, but I don't consider myself any more of a true fan than someone who just likes A Thousand Suns and Living Things.

I fell in love with Chester's voice & screams then fell in love with Linkin Park as a band. Their music has helped me in many ways being 14-15 yo when I first hear them in 2001 & sending my money order in to join LPU (linkin park underground). I watched Linkin park perform without Chester & it brought me to tears, there's a huge huge piece missing in the music & my heart broke. LP will never be the same again, to me Chesters voice brought that something extra, not to diminish all of their (Rob, phoenix, brad, joe & mike) hard work and blood sweat and tears, theyre talented & deserve the success but without Chester.. Its incomplete & no one will ever be able to replace him or compare if a new member joined. I love LP til the very end.

Bands are going to change overtime. Some bands who made cheerful, awesome songs, might end up doing sad, even dark songs in at least a few years. Linkin Park has been doing music for 13 years. They were going to change sooner or later. It doesn't matter whether or not they have techno in their music or not. All that matters is that they're still playing on the radios, and are still making music. Techno or not, Linkin Park is the best band in history.
