I don’t think you’ll likely find someone in this genre who doesn’t have their demons. The music is meant to be a coping mechanism. It’s that factor that makes them stand out and makes their music real. Chester had a rough childhood and it’s always been a part of the deal. He just lost that battle, unfortunately. But it’s not like no one knew.
When I first heard this I thought Chester's voice sounded so differently. I thought he was trying a new style. That was until I realized it was Mike. Holy smokes I was blown away. I didn't even notice it was him until I looked it up. I literally thought it was Chester singing my first time listening. You can almost hear it too if you really imagine it. Thank God those two men gave us amazing vocals in this era!
