After the ending, it becomes clearer that the Snake Eater theme could be from the Boss's perspective. "I give my life, not for honor, but for you" 😭 It even starts playing later in the fight if you take a while to beat her.

It’s been highly refreshing to watch someone play the Metal Gear series for the first time. It brings back childhood memories for me. My favorite aspect of your walkthrough has been how quickly you pick up on key aspects of the story, which means you are paying close attention. I look forward to you doing MGS4, Peace Walker, and MGSV (Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain).

Good job Whimsy! There are so many secrets in the game that enrich how great this game is. Some of my favorites: 1. There is a green Kerotan frog to shoot in EVERY area of the game including the motorcycle driving sections to get the stealth camo. 2. There are rare creatures to collect in the game including The End's Parrot, 3 White Snakes in the Boss fight named Solid, Liquid, and Solidus, and a super rare snake called the Tsuchinoko. 3. Two other ways to beat The End, either shooting him outside the Warehouse, or letting him die of old age by waiting a week after the battle has begun. 4. Blowing up storehouses to lower the stamina and/or the ammo of enemy soldiers. Then throwing rotten food to the soldiers. 5. Blowing up the Hind Helicopter near the research facility so it doesn't appear later in the game at the mountains. 6. 4 different endings to the Ocelot Roulette game at the end. Also Seeing Ocelot in first person at the Medal ceremony 7. Making Snake or Eva throw up by spinning them around in the pause menu. Missed Detail: Sigint becomes the DARPA Chief in MGS1, Ocelot is the son of the Boss raised by the Philosophers/Patriots
In the Switch version, the 100 frogs u have to find/shoot are 100 YOSHIS instead!🤣😂 🐸 There’s also a codec call where Sigint explains the history of “Yoshi” to Snake 😂 And they all join in on convincing Snake to find all 100
Fact 1: 34:22 That Nuclear explosion was set off by The Boss, using the 2nd Davey Crockett to destroy Groznyj Grad. Remember that she took 2 of these Nuclear shells. The first being used by Volgin aboard the Hind A, to destroy Sokolovs' Research Facilty & framing The Boss. Fact 2: Naked Snake "John" was born in 1935, making him 29 years old in MGS3. The Bosses son is none other than Adamska "Revolver Ocelot", born on June 6th, 1944. Which would make him 20 years old here. Fact 3: The scar on the Bosses body that animates into a snake, is symbolizing her soul leaving her body into the afterlife. Fact 4: The blueprints that Ocelot obtained from Granin, were sent to the US to a Scientist named "Emmerich". For me, MGS 3 will always be my favourite purely because of the ending. Up until the ending it's tied with 2, but The Boss's sacrifice, Eva's voice acting as she describes it, the background music - it's just so powerful. I didn't really expect to go into MGS 3 and start crying at any point, but it happened. xD
1:37:31 My theory is similar. I think Ocelot became suspicious of Snake, when he saw him with an unknown 3rd party who was not supposed to be there. And then couldn't risk revealing that he is ADAM. As for who the real EVA was, I think it was Ivan Raikov, since Ivan is pronounced like EVA-n in Russian. That can also explains why EVA never contacted Snake. He probably couldn't get away from Volgin who requested his presence whenever he felt like it.
But remember, EVA says the real ADAM never showed up, saving her the trouble of having to eliminate him herself, which implies that she eliminated the real EVA. If that’s the case, than you as the player would not have had the opportunity to steal Ivan’s clothes later in the game.
@@Stealth1986 She said "saving me the trouble of having to elliminate him." She didn't say "myself", if that's what you're referring to? Her motivation to kill ADAM would be to prevent him from meeting Snake as that would blow her cover, since she wouldn't be able to pretend to be EVA if ADAM was in contact with Snake. And at the start of the mission, Zero said that Snake was supposed to meet ADAM. He did not mention that EVA would also meet Snake, so why would Tatyana kill EVA? Killing any of the codebreakers would cause trouble, as she mentioned, since Volgin would no doubt investigate who had an alibi during the time, and potentially why they left the compound.
When you finish MGS4 you should have a stream where you discuss MGS series theories. Your analysis is on point with many things but there is so much more going on in some of these games.
If you were to fight the Boss longer, the corus (of snake eater) will start to play. 1 minut later the singer starts to pitch in. Here, you start to realize that the song is refering to the whole entire game. It was here that I felt a connection to mgs3 that I never had to any other game.
That whole finale is one of the most heartbreaking moments in gaming. It's truly the beginning of Big Boss' villain arc. The utter contempt Snake has for everyone in that room when receiving his medal is palpable.
I don't know what happened, but I cried with you, and I don't remember if I really cried when I beat the game 10 years ago. So thanks for this amazing moment
The name of the song at end is Metal gear Solid theme. It played first at opening of MGS VR Missions, then played on MGS2, trailers etc I hope you have a PS3 for MGS4!
This was amazing to watch, so glad you enjoyed this as you did... The Boss is immortalised in my head as a 100% legend up there when ppl mentiom Sarah Conner from Terminator or Ripley from Alien. So going forward the story does fracture quite alot over the different games , MGS4 is naturally next which is correct and fine , but id maybe familiarise yourself with Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 story wise 😊 Also a small bit of trivia (or weird fan theory) as you mentioned his title, that actually comes from the 1st game Metal Gear where it is originally just a translation inconsistency where he is called "Big Boss" in game meaning the "final boss of the game" Cant wait for you continuing the series 😊

@@WhimsyPsyche I believe it should be (as long as your careful the synopsis only takes those games in isolation,I'd maybe ask your mods to give the wiki synopsis of them a quick proof read to make sure) but from memory both those older games only really had connections to MGS1 for where you are at in the series and will help you a little with some context on Big Bosses motivations (again these games were a little more simplistic and don't have hours of codec calls to flesh out things lol) I'd maybe hold off reading up on them until after completing MGS4 and Peace Walker but before starting Ground Zeros/MGS5

This is the game that brings all storylines of the previous games together. One of the best series of playthroughs on RUclips. It's always great to see this series still holds up so well and even though you are amazing at figuring out some sneaky plot twists, there's always more to surprise you, because Kojima = Kojima. Saw you talking about already being deep into MGS 4, so can't wait to see your experience. It's where all the stories, characters and plot points come together. I still find new details in story and gameplay whenever I replay or watch playthroughs and appreciate them more the older I get. These games keep on giving and that makes them so special amongst the story-driven video games. A lot of people call Kojima pretentious and "overhyped", but to me he's one of the greatest artists in entertainment that dares to take risks, wanting to expand and experiment with gameplay and storytelling in video games. And he always has these weirdly correct prophecies for what a future might look like and how the world changes with time and technology. next up: "War has changed".

I've said this before, but not seen it addressed, so I'll say it again: in MGS4 there is a Briefing menu. Do NOT watch the act 1 briefing until AFTER you finish act 1 - there are spoilers.

Oh FYI for whenever your playing Delta , there are 2 hidden cutscenes to keep an eye out for the first is after u beat the boss and u see the horse coming over n neighing after her press R1 and you will see her ghost standing beside the sorrow reunited very emotional. The 2nd is when you are receiving the medal from the president and saluting him , press R1 again and look slightly left to the corner of the window and you will see ocelot standing there watching u and doing his hand signature. Happened by pure accident 1 time when playing it was totally worth it.

It's been a real joy watching you work your way through the first three Solid games. MGS3 will always be my favorite of the series, though every Metal Gear has its place and they're all amazing (but by no means flawless) in their own ways. I still have my original copy of most of the Metal Gear series, but MGS3: Snake Eater, the first release of this game is the one I treasure the most. It was the first game I can recall following the development cycle of and as a long time fan, the idea of getting to play through Big Boss's story was unbelievably exciting and I can still remember that sense of wonder and nervous energy when I finally got it into my grubby mitts in an EB Games almost 20 years ago, before they were GameStop. Snake Eater on release was probably one of the most incredible gaming experiences I ever had, and I am so excited for Delta. I hope whatever method being employed for MGS4 works. You're in for quite a ride with that game, but it was developed for a console whose system architecture can best be described as unique; getting it to run and record may be... challenging. I wish you the best of luck, and I look forward to those uploads if it works.
Cant wait to see this hehe loved this run you did of MGS3, as i said each MGS brings it's own unique way to shine among it self in the series. MGS3 brings that classic spy movie video but still very much in a MGS-Kojima fashion. But couldn't agree more that Ocelot is that guy you just love to "hate", he's just that "Dastardly yet charming" also this game really shows a more inexperienced, learning and growing Ocelot and how he looks up to Big Boss adds allot to his character.

The wild part is if you want the full MGS experience this isn't even half of the Legacy. MGS 4, Portable Ops, Peace Walker, MGS 5, and MGR still to check out. Even more if you want the MSX games' stories as well. It actually is quite impressive looking back at how many titles were woven together to make this incredible story.

Super attentive to all the aspects of the game, tried your best to catch all the codex calls (it isn't possible in one run, I'm convinced), and ended it with a hard af cosplay at the end. Why you tear up you ask? Cause its brilliantly written and emotional. The entire final cutscene where Eva tells all the details about The Boss, combined with that epic music masterpiece in the back? jeeeez that still gets me sometimes. Its simply greatness.
Loving the Boss cosplay. And yes The Boss had a son, someone you know VERY well. A certain gunslinger. Also with the duel at the end, you get several different outcomes depending on what gun you choose and where you aim and if you actually pull the trigger. Also Jack is normally a nickname for John.
A bit annoying the gut shot counted as a miss at the end but oh well :P, as usual it's been a joy watching you play these games, thanks for playing :D.

So I'm guessing cosplaying as EVA might have been just a tad bit revealing, huh? 🤣 Ok but seriously I'm glad you enjoyed yourself playing this one. I love this game. Played it so many times over the last 20 years. Though there were times I wanted to give you hints, tips, and tricks as I've done pretty much everything. So I will mention a few things here. There are hidden R1 scenes where they game doesn't tell you to do it. Best one best the scene at the White House with ocelot outside the window. You managed to collect more camo and face paint than I was expecting but obviously you did miss a couple. And the reason why you didn't get "The End's" camo is you have to sneak up on him, surprise him by telling him to freeze, then point your gun away from him 3x. Then he throws you a box that contains his camo. A fun one is your standoff with ocelot in the plane has 3 outcomes. One where you shoot the wall as you did. If you had aimed more for his midsection then he acts like he's been shot but turns out it's a blank. He then has a good laugh. The last one he shoots you but that too is a blank. Again he laughs. In your boss fight with the boss there are 3 white snakes representing the 3 sons of big boss that you can kill or capture. Hell I could be sitting here for awhile telling you secrets. And it's ok if you prefer the first game. Personally I still prefer MGS3 but MGS is my second favorite. Nobody says MGS2 is their favorite. If they do then they're weird. 🤣 Look forward to you playing the remake. But I'm also looking forward to you playing MGS4 and perhaps MGS5 to finish out the story. Granted there are smaller titles here and there that fill in the gaps. And for future titles. Don't torture yourself by playing on hard. Nobody will judge you if you play on normal. Enjoy the game. Not be frustrated by it.
Congrats on beating the game! A couple of fun stuff about the ending: I believe there are 4 outcomes to the duel scene (Sparing Ocelot by not shooting, Missing the shot, Hitting Ocelot, Pick the wrong gun). Also, if you R1 when the president goes for the hand shake, you can see Ocelot in the background, while its just an easter egg, but it would make sense given Ocelot's ties to America
So nostalgic to see your reaction to the MGS3 ending. The way the game is directed is done so well! You're lamenting having to kill The Boss and then go into a duel with Adamska, then finish off with some more exposition to hit you right in the feels some more. Great playthrough! An absolutely amazing twist at the end, one of the greatest endings of All Time. It absolutely wrecked me when the game first came out, still hits now. Also him getting the title Big boss was an amazing moment. Now you see why so many people love MGS3 the most
MGS1 is also my favorite, despite me playing all of them other than peace walker and ghost babble. MGS was just so innovative and revolutionary. It literally created a whole new genre of games 'tactical espionage'. And kojima used real world physical items as in game mechanics and world building. Like psycho Mantis reading your memory card, and having to change controller ports to fight him. Plus needing to look on the back of your actual game case to get Meryls codec frequency...which also cut down on piracy...it was just a masterpiece. MGS 2 and 3 are good as well, just not on the same level. (At least imo.)

Well played. Great again to see your reactions and thoughts. I think it's interesting you said Snake Eater is more simple than Mgs 1 or 2. On the surface, Mgs 3 does play like that, but I've come to believe there's an OCEAN of meaning, significance and complexity beneath the surface. Connected to that, once again, a second play through will be fascinating from a story perspective. As an example, figuring out how Ocelot does extremely well (as ever) maintaining cover while somehow assisting Big Boss at every turn, despite appearing to be his bane throughout the game, in an incredible way. He manages situations very well, often distracting Volgin away from something, such as protecting snake in the torture room by going after Eva (who he knows is a fake, but he has to protect snake and the mission by playing along with her) i could go on. It twists and turns SO MUCH and it serves as an excellent genesis and ground zero for the entire timeline. Both the plot and story touches are massively profound and fundamental.

While you have the final say as to what you'll play next, if you want to delve a bit more into Snake's journey into "Big Bossery," before wrapping up Solid's story, then I suggest moving on to MGS Peace Walker. MGS V Ground Zeros and Phantom Pain follow after, but those are monsters you might want to tackle later. Anywho, enjoy the experience!
Nice cosplay Whimsy! That look of The Boss is my favorite. MGS1 is my favorite game too. I think it's because of the bosses. In MGS1 the bosses were "very theatrical", but those monologues before and after the fight let you know a little bit about their story, how they ended up there or a little bit about their personality. While in this game the bosses on paper they seem like interesting characters but when their time comes just say a generic phrase or spend their time screaming Pain! Fear! XD I see in the comments that the Snake Eater theme starts playing after a certain time in the final battle. I didn't know! LOL! Every time I played the song always played so I thought it was scripted. Maybe because I was wandering around the whole stage all the time. That scenario is very beautiful and magical! I don't know why, but I loved that scene at 51:47... the snake in the tree, the flowers and the background... Just perfect 👌 I stopped playing the saga right after this game, so I'm going to live the MGS4 experience on this channel so I'm excited! Thank you Whimsy! 💚

I'm all caught up and ready for this episode! BTW (*NOT A SPOILER*) I don't know if you realized when you met him in his office he goes off on a rant how the Metal Gear that Sokolov built is not better than the one he was creating but that they didn't believe in him. Which were the documents he leaked to the Americans since the Soviet Union threw him away like a dog for not believing in his invention. He was the originally creator of the Metal Gear that you saw on Metal Gear Solid 1998. In the scene you can see the drawings of it as he swings the papers around.
I recommend playing the first metal gear games. Metal Gear 1 & Metal Gear 2. Retro games, but they are so fun. Especially the second one is a true metal gear game with a good story, good characters and MGS typical gameplay. They are kinda like a 2D version of Metal Gear Solid 1998 It would only take you 3 or 4 parts to finish these games. I hope they will be Remade some day. They are so important for the lore and Solid Snake and Big Boss's story.
So, let's recap: MGS 1 --> Cosplay of Meryl ( Dies shortly after ). MGS 2 --> Cosplay of Olga ( Dies shortly after ). MGS 3 --> Cosplay of The Boss ( Dies shortly after ). I'm scared of the cosplay for MGS4 xD.

Fantastic fight execution and super poetic using the CQC focus :) Awesome to hear you're able to play MGS4 next & have been able to get the emulation sorted for it. I'm super curious to watch that one - as its the entry i've played the least, the PS3 version runs atrociously to the point it impacted my enjoyment of the game and I just threw in the towel and watched what was I think a 12hour youtube cutscene story video lol. Sadly I don't think my PC can hack PS3 emulation as it's getting way on in age, so i'm hoping there is the rumoured Master Collection V2 sooner or later, MGS4 has a lot of really neat stuff i'd love to play with (at a proper framerate lol).
I loved all ur Journey. I can not wait to see ur Mgs4 run complete. Also: There is a parody of the same game within the same game, it is called "Metal Gear Solid 3: Secret Theater" there is a video on RUclips that compiles all these moments. You gonna have a really good time, it's very funny and shows that a great creator like Hideo Kojima also has the ability to not take himself so seriously and to laugh at himself!

Literally can't wait for you to go through MGS4....given, if you thought this was an emotional hit....well, yeah, MGS4 is like being hit with by a train. Good job Whimsy! There are so many secrets in the game that enrich how great this game is. Some of my favorites:
1. There is a green Kerotan frog to shoot in EVERY area of the game including the motorcycle driving sections to get the stealth camo.
2. There are rare creatures to collect in the game including The End's Parrot, 3 White Snakes in the Boss fight named Solid, Liquid, and Solidus, and a super rare snake called the Tsuchinoko.
3. Two other ways to beat The End, either shooting him outside the Warehouse, or letting him die of old age by waiting a week after the battle has begun.
4. Blowing up storehouses to lower the stamina and/or the ammo of enemy soldiers. Then throwing rotten food to the soldiers.
5. Blowing up the Hind Helicopter near the research facility so it doesn't appear later in the game at the mountains.
6. 4 different endings to the Ocelot Roulette game at the end. Also Seeing Ocelot in first person at the Medal ceremony
7. Making Snake or Eva throw up by spinning them around in the pause menu.
Missed Detail: Sigint becomes the DARPA Chief in MGS1, Ocelot is the son of the Boss raised by the Philosophers/Patriots
In the Switch version, the 100 frogs u have to find/shoot are 100 YOSHIS instead!🤣😂 🐸
There’s also a codec call where Sigint explains the history of “Yoshi” to Snake 😂
And they all join in on convincing Snake to find all 100
Fact 1: 34:22 That Nuclear explosion was set off by The Boss, using the 2nd Davey Crockett to destroy Groznyj Grad. Remember that she took 2 of these Nuclear shells. The first being used by Volgin aboard the Hind A, to destroy Sokolovs' Research Facilty & framing The Boss.
Fact 2: Naked Snake "John" was born in 1935, making him 29 years old in MGS3. The Bosses son is none other than Adamska "Revolver Ocelot", born on June 6th, 1944. Which would make him 20 years old here.
Fact 3: The scar on the Bosses body that animates into a snake, is symbolizing her soul leaving her body into the afterlife.
Fact 4: The blueprints that Ocelot obtained from Granin, were sent to the US to a Scientist named "Emmerich". And no it isn't Otacon! 😜

For me, MGS 3 will always be my favourite purely because of the ending. Up until the ending it's tied with 2, but The Boss's sacrifice, Eva's voice acting as she describes it, the background music - it's just so powerful. I didn't really expect to go into MGS 3 and start crying at any point, but it happened. xD
I'm halfway through the video and i don't know yet if she figures it out but just in case since she finished the game well the Boss's son is Ocelot.

1:37:31 My theory is similar. I think Ocelot became suspicious of Snake, when he saw him with an unknown 3rd party who was not supposed to be there. And then couldn't risk revealing that he is ADAM. As for who the real EVA was, I think it was Ivan Raikov, since Ivan is pronounced like EVA-n in Russian. That can also explains why EVA never contacted Snake. He probably couldn't get away from Volgin who requested his presence whenever he felt like it.
Huh, the Ivan/EVA thing is a cool idea.
But remember, EVA says the real ADAM never showed up, saving her the trouble of having to eliminate him herself, which implies that she eliminated the real EVA. If that’s the case, than you as the player would not have had the opportunity to steal Ivan’s clothes later in the game.
@@Stealth1986 She said "saving me the trouble of having to elliminate him." She didn't say "myself", if that's what you're referring to? Her motivation to kill ADAM would be to prevent him from meeting Snake as that would blow her cover, since she wouldn't be able to pretend to be EVA if ADAM was in contact with Snake. And at the start of the mission, Zero said that Snake was supposed to meet ADAM. He did not mention that EVA would also meet Snake, so why would Tatyana kill EVA? Killing any of the codebreakers would cause trouble, as she mentioned, since Volgin would no doubt investigate who had an alibi during the time, and potentially why they left the compound.
When you finish MGS4 you should have a stream where you discuss MGS series theories. Your analysis is on point with many things but there is so much more going on in some of these games.

If you were to fight the Boss longer, the corus (of snake eater) will start to play. 1 minut later the singer starts to pitch in. Here, you start to realize that the song is refering to the whole entire game. It was here that I felt a connection to mgs3 that I never had to any other game.
That whole finale is one of the most heartbreaking moments in gaming. It's truly the beginning of Big Boss' villain arc. The utter contempt Snake has for everyone in that room when receiving his medal is palpable.
I still am waiting for my prequel game starring the boss and covering her various missions including her and the Cobras fighting in WWII.

So going forward the story does fracture quite alot over the different games , MGS4 is naturally next which is correct and fine , but id maybe familiarise yourself with Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 story wise 😊
Also a small bit of trivia (or weird fan theory) as you mentioned his title, that actually comes from the 1st game Metal Gear where it is originally just a translation inconsistency where he is called "Big Boss" in game meaning the "final boss of the game"

@@WhimsyPsyche I believe it should be (as long as your careful the synopsis only takes those games in isolation,I'd maybe ask your mods to give the wiki synopsis of them a quick proof read to make sure) but from memory both those older games only really had connections to MGS1 for where you are at in the series and will help you a little with some context on Big Bosses motivations (again these games were a little more simplistic and don't have hours of codec calls to flesh out things lol)
I'd maybe hold off reading up on them until after completing MGS4 and Peace Walker but before starting Ground Zeros/MGS5

It's always great to see this series still holds up so well and even though you are amazing at figuring out some sneaky plot twists, there's always more to surprise you, because Kojima = Kojima. Saw you talking about already being deep into MGS 4, so can't wait to see your experience. It's where all the stories, characters and plot points come together. I still find new details in story and gameplay whenever I replay or watch playthroughs and appreciate them more the older I get. These games keep on giving and that makes them so special amongst the story-driven video games. A lot of people call Kojima pretentious and "overhyped", but to me he's one of the greatest artists in entertainment that dares to take risks, wanting to expand and experiment with gameplay and storytelling in video games. And he always has these weirdly correct prophecies for what a future might look like and how the world changes with time and technology. next up: "War has changed".

Oh FYI for whenever your playing Delta , there are 2 hidden cutscenes to keep an eye out for the first is after u beat the boss and u see the horse coming over n neighing after her press R1 and you will see her ghost standing beside the sorrow reunited very emotional. The 2nd is when you are receiving the medal from the president and saluting him , press R1 again and look slightly left to the corner of the window and you will see ocelot standing there watching u and doing his hand signature. Happened by pure accident 1 time when playing it was totally worth it.

It's been a real joy watching you work your way through the first three Solid games. MGS3 will always be my favorite of the series, though every Metal Gear has its place and they're all amazing (but by no means flawless) in their own ways. I still have my original copy of most of the Metal Gear series, but MGS3: Snake Eater, the first release of this game is the one I treasure the most. It was the first game I can recall following the development cycle of and as a long time fan, the idea of getting to play through Big Boss's story was unbelievably exciting and I can still remember that sense of wonder and nervous energy when I finally got it into my grubby mitts in an EB Games almost 20 years ago, before they were GameStop. Snake Eater on release was probably one of the most incredible gaming experiences I ever had, and I am so excited for Delta.
I hope whatever method being employed for MGS4 works. You're in for quite a ride with that game, but it was developed for a console whose system architecture can best be described as unique; getting it to run and record may be... challenging. I wish you the best of luck, and I look forward to those uploads if it works.

loved this run you did of MGS3, as i said each MGS brings it's own unique way to shine among it self in the series. MGS3 brings that classic spy movie video but still very much in a MGS-Kojima fashion.
But couldn't agree more that Ocelot is that guy you just love to "hate", he's just that "Dastardly yet charming" also this game really shows a more inexperienced, learning and growing Ocelot and how he looks up to Big Boss adds allot to his character.

Why you tear up you ask? Cause its brilliantly written and emotional. The entire final cutscene where Eva tells all the details about The Boss, combined with that epic music masterpiece in the back? jeeeez that still gets me sometimes. Its simply greatness.
Loving the Boss cosplay. And yes The Boss had a son, someone you know VERY well. A certain gunslinger. Also with the duel at the end, you get several different outcomes depending on what gun you choose and where you aim and if you actually pull the trigger. Also Jack is normally a nickname for John.
A bit annoying the gut shot counted as a miss at the end but oh well :P, as usual it's been a joy watching you play these games, thanks for playing :D.

Ok but seriously I'm glad you enjoyed yourself playing this one. I love this game. Played it so many times over the last 20 years. Though there were times I wanted to give you hints, tips, and tricks as I've done pretty much everything.
So I will mention a few things here. There are hidden R1 scenes where they game doesn't tell you to do it. Best one best the scene at the White House with ocelot outside the window.
You managed to collect more camo and face paint than I was expecting but obviously you did miss a couple. And the reason why you didn't get "The End's" camo is you have to sneak up on him, surprise him by telling him to freeze, then point your gun away from him 3x. Then he throws you a box that contains his camo.
A fun one is your standoff with ocelot in the plane has 3 outcomes. One where you shoot the wall as you did. If you had aimed more for his midsection then he acts like he's been shot but turns out it's a blank. He then has a good laugh. The last one he shoots you but that too is a blank. Again he laughs.
In your boss fight with the boss there are 3 white snakes representing the 3 sons of big boss that you can kill or capture.
Hell I could be sitting here for awhile telling you secrets.
And it's ok if you prefer the first game. Personally I still prefer MGS3 but MGS is my second favorite. Nobody says MGS2 is their favorite. If they do then they're weird. 🤣
Look forward to you playing the remake. But I'm also looking forward to you playing MGS4 and perhaps MGS5 to finish out the story. Granted there are smaller titles here and there that fill in the gaps. And for future titles. Don't torture yourself by playing on hard. Nobody will judge you if you play on normal. Enjoy the game. Not be frustrated by it.

After many years and many attempts, I finally found the best way for the area on the extreme difficulty
Congrats on beating the game! A couple of fun stuff about the ending: I believe there are 4 outcomes to the duel scene (Sparing Ocelot by not shooting, Missing the shot, Hitting Ocelot, Pick the wrong gun). Also, if you R1 when the president goes for the hand shake, you can see Ocelot in the background, while its just an easter egg, but it would make sense given Ocelot's ties to America
So nostalgic to see your reaction to the MGS3 ending. The way the game is directed is done so well! You're lamenting having to kill The Boss and then go into a duel with Adamska, then finish off with some more exposition to hit you right in the feels some more. Great playthrough! I also rank the games 1=3>2 (as you could probably tell by my profile pic lol).
If you want some more MGS3 content, I would love to see you react to the MGS3 Secret Theater! They are fun parody cutscenes that were made by the devs and were originally included with MGS3 Subsistence bonus disc. I would love to see your reaction to those :). Gg!
An absolutely amazing twist at the end, one of the greatest endings of All Time. It absolutely wrecked me when the game first came out, still hits now. Also him getting the title Big boss was an amazing moment. Now you see why so many people love MGS3 the most
MGS1 is also my favorite, despite me playing all of them other than peace walker and ghost babble.
MGS was just so innovative and revolutionary. It literally created a whole new genre of games 'tactical espionage'.
And kojima used real world physical items as in game mechanics and world building. Like psycho Mantis reading your memory card, and having to change controller ports to fight him. Plus needing to look on the back of your actual game case to get Meryls codec frequency...which also cut down on piracy...it was just a masterpiece. MGS 2 and 3 are good as well, just not on the same level. (At least imo.)
I hope you'll like MGS4, it's such a cool cutscene!!!! And between cutscenes there's some awesome gameplay too!!!

Well played. Great again to see your reactions and thoughts. I think it's interesting you said Snake Eater is more simple than Mgs 1 or 2. On the surface, Mgs 3 does play like that, but I've come to believe there's an OCEAN of meaning, significance and complexity beneath the surface.
Connected to that, once again, a second play through will be fascinating from a story perspective. As an example, figuring out how Ocelot does extremely well (as ever) maintaining cover while somehow assisting Big Boss at every turn, despite appearing to be his bane throughout the game, in an incredible way. He manages situations very well, often distracting Volgin away from something, such as protecting snake in the torture room by going after Eva (who he knows is a fake, but he has to protect snake and the mission by playing along with her) i could go on. It twists and turns SO MUCH and it serves as an excellent genesis and ground zero for the entire timeline. Both the plot and story touches are massively profound and fundamental.
ive been playing this game since i was like 12 and i have NEVER seen some of those cqc counters you did against the boss. You're pretty good!

While you have the final say as to what you'll play next, if you want to delve a bit more into Snake's journey into "Big Bossery," before wrapping up Solid's story, then I suggest moving on to MGS Peace Walker. MGS V Ground Zeros and Phantom Pain follow after, but those are monsters you might want to tackle later. Anywho, enjoy the experience!

MGS1 is my favorite game too. I think it's because of the bosses. In MGS1 the bosses were "very theatrical", but those monologues before and after the fight let you know a little bit about their story, how they ended up there or a little bit about their personality. While in this game the bosses on paper they seem like interesting characters but when their time comes just say a generic phrase or spend their time screaming Pain! Fear! XD
I see in the comments that the Snake Eater theme starts playing after a certain time in the final battle. I didn't know! LOL!
Every time I played the song always played so I thought it was scripted. Maybe because I was wandering around the whole stage all the time. That scenario is very beautiful and magical!
I don't know why, but I loved that scene at 51:47... the snake in the tree, the flowers and the background... Just perfect 👌
I stopped playing the saga right after this game, so I'm going to live the MGS4 experience on this channel so I'm excited!

I don't know if you realized when you met him in his office he goes off on a rant how the Metal Gear that Sokolov built is not better than the one he was creating but that they didn't believe in him. Which were the documents he leaked to the Americans since the Soviet Union threw him away like a dog for not believing in his invention. He was the originally creator of the Metal Gear that you saw on Metal Gear Solid 1998. In the scene you can see the drawings of it as he swings the papers around.

I recommend playing the first metal gear games. Metal Gear 1 & Metal Gear 2.
Retro games, but they are so fun. Especially the second one is a true metal gear game with a good story, good characters and MGS typical gameplay. They are kinda like a 2D version of Metal Gear Solid 1998
It would only take you 3 or 4 parts to finish these games.
I hope they will be Remade some day. They are so important for the lore and Solid Snake and Big Boss's story.

Congrats on finishing the game, and great job with the boss! Fantastic fight execution and super poetic using the CQC focus :) Awesome to hear you're able to play MGS4 next & have been able to get the emulation sorted for it. I'm super curious to watch that one - as its the entry i've played the least, the PS3 version runs atrociously to the point it impacted my enjoyment of the game and I just threw in the towel and watched what was I think a 12hour youtube cutscene story video lol. Sadly I don't think my PC can hack PS3 emulation as it's getting way on in age, so i'm hoping there is the rumoured Master Collection V2 sooner or later, MGS4 has a lot of really neat stuff i'd love to play with (at a proper framerate lol).

Literally can't wait for you to go through MGS4....given, if you thought this was an emotional hit....well, yeah, MGS4 is like being hit with by a train. In addition, be ready for some of the LONGEST cutscenes ever. If I recall correctly, some are over an hour long. Keep up the amazing reactions and cosplay! So looking forward to the next. And lastly, well done going non-lethal for the bosses, given, the Boss is the only real fight you need to do that way for the best rewards. Well done.
