- In this video, we will be looking what would happen if the Shadow went to war with the Wraith. Could a Wraith Hive Ship defeat the Shadow vessel. At the end of the video we will see who would win if these two went to war.

Nice video, i think the shadows would win handsdown. The wraith are very good at dealing with humans but the shadows are a league above them.
Just an idea, Vorlons vs 40k.
I think the Vorlons would win, in fact I think one Vorlon could take over the 40k galaxy by mostly pretending to be the different races gods
Hmmmm the Vorlons mastery of Hyperspace would give them a huge advantage over the Imperium, Orks and Tau but less so over the Eldar and Necrons whose FTL is just as good or better. The Vorlons would DEFINITELY have to build more planet killers and cruisers and everyone else has MUUUUCH bigger ships and probably upgrade their shields and weapons too

I think one would go to the Imperium, get out of his suit and everyone is seeing the God Emperor. A few goes to the Eldar and do the same there. Two to the Ork for Gork and Mork. They'll probably be able to do some with Choas.
The problem would be the Tau, Necrons and Tyranids because they don't have any gods (that I can think of) the Vorlons could take advantage of.
This would be a fun match up to see. Would the Wraiths Telepathic Abilities cause any issues with Shadow Ships? Or Vice Versa? Sadly, the Wraith started out pretty cool, but got nerfed pretty fast in the show. That and I think the Hive Ships are kind of underestimated. Shadow vessels are tough but not invincible, and Wraith Ships could take out the Earth Ships augmented with Asgard technology. Those big blue Plasma Charges they shot were nothing to sneeze at.
I agree, then again the shadows are pretty fast and agile for their size so maybe they'd have trouble landing hit anyway. But I also think their armour is better. Wraith hives can tank nukes while the shadows can't
True the Wraith Telepathic Abilities would cause the Shadows some problems but ultimately ,it wouldn't even be a speed bump against the Shadows
First problem the Wraith have no ability to scan hyperspace but the Shadows can scan normal space from hyperspace and strike without warning
Secondly, the Wraith blue plasma charge wouldnt do anything
Remember, the Asgard Oneil class ships used heavy kinetic energy similar Earth guns as they saw that the replicators were vulnerable to kinetic energy
With Ori, the Asgard Plasma beams firing a continuous beam which could break through Ori ships with ease
its the same way with Shadows
Pulse weapons do nothing against them but a continuous beam will stop their ships and with enough destroy it
One Vorlon ship fired a continuous beam against shadow which stopped and eventually destroyed in a matter of seconds
It took 2 White stars and 1 Narn heavy cruiser to do the same
Lastly when the Shadows attacked Section 14, They cut up a station nearly as big as B5 in a matter of seconds ,then destroyed the colony on the ground again in seconds
For comparison, Aurora-class battleship was over 2.2 miles in size. and Wraith hive 2-6 miles
Shadows like Vorlons are powered by hyperspace taps which gives limitless energy
While a Wraith Hive hooped on ZPMs was powerful, ZPMs can still be depleted
Shadow vessels would easily crush Wraith ships

Soldiers of Darkness which are normally invisible and like the Wraith can suck the life out of lifeforms and can phase through matter

I think the Shadows would despise the Wraith. the Wraith through their actions have made their galaxy more or less completely static, oppressing any large scale social and technological evolution and creating large scale stagnation. This is completely against the Shadows ideology and the entire reason they interact with younger races.
This is a hard comparison, the tech levels and design philosophy are vastly different with being biolilogically based is their only point of commonality. But i do think you underestimate the Wraith a little. Their Hive ships seem to have a much higher durability rating vs a Shadow ship. We see one take at least 2 direct hits from naquada enriched nukes. Though heavily damaged, it wasn't out of the fight. Shadow ships though, we've seen disintigrate in a nuclear blast rather then being hit directly. Also Dart fighters could run circles around Shadow fighters, while delivering neumerous successive hits...a very good quality of a dog fighter. Shadow fighters though with its powerful 1 hit kill canon, has a much lower rate of fire giving them a higher miss to hit ratio unless they have very advanced sensors with good weapons tracking. If not, then this characteristic makes it better to engage larger slow moving targets. Wraith, with far more inferior tech, still defeated a more powerful older race through attrition. Theres a good chance Wraith could still bring the Shadows down.
A Shadow victory would be more of a long term cunning plan where they'd sow discord amongst the Wraith Queens. Get their enemies to fight amongst themselves before directly engaging them. And they would need to if Shadows can't reconstitute their loses, there is a need for a psychic pilot to man their front line ships. Something that isn't in high supply if this is taking olace with in the SGA universe.
Very good video but the shadows would win in b5 it takes all the older races including the vorlons to push the shadows back so the wraith wouldn't stand a chance
The shadows would win there ships are too powerful and agile for the hives to resist and the impression I get the wraith are unable to produce replacement forces quickly without the power of a ZPM.
It would have also made sense for the Shadows to supply their technology to the Genii, Olesia, Travellers and other civilisations with advanced/semi advanced technology to foster hostilities between these groups. Imagine Traveller generation ships covered in bio armour and slicing hiveships in half.
Shadows would win.
Im commenting before our host begins. Zero competition as the Shadows are awesome. Plus the anatomy of the Shadows would be problematic for consumption as food. Unlike the psychopathic Wraiths the Shadows understood that allies are necessary & thus not on the menu. When any of you become hungry your best friend might become a banquet 😂😂😂

The Wraith are a cliche enemy, while the shadows are not the "regular" enemys... even nowadays, theres much mistery to plenty of stuff on Babylon 5 that would be awesome to discover... maybe thats a pretest for a continuation?
A real unknow that no one tought was what would happen if a wraith sucked a Shadow being life force? Remenber that wraiths are somewhat influenced by what they feed upon.
so i haven't watched the video yet but i can't really imagine the Wraith standing a snowballs chance in Hell vs the (insert ten thousand letters long name here) AKA The Shadows, i mean the Vorlons were scared of a confrontations with the Shadows and we never fully see the level of their full tech from the shadows or Vorlons.
the biggest thing that would make it and instant loss for the Wraith is the shadows work as one race while the Wraith are almost programed to fight with each other.

The crossover could occur near future.
When Shadows and Vorlons reach [Babylon 5 version of ...] Pegasus Galaxy.
Shadows construct massive "Jump Space" central hub gate...and turn it on.
At same time in [Stargate version...] Pegasus Galaxy, the Wraith construct a Stargate capable of reaching Milky Way or Ori Galaxy...and turn it on.
The two different but similar very large gates cause spacial cross dimensional wormhole...with two distinct ends.
* You could use also use this scenario for B5+Trek crossovers. And Trek+SGU.
Works for all three franchises.
I think the Trek version would be called a Trans-Warp "Corridor" or "Hub".
no one really ever mentions wraith weapons are basically all made for anti fighter work, rapid fire, fairly weak. seems like if they could build power and fire in a beam type thing would be closer to orai ship weapons

Wouldn't the Shadows steal some Wraiths to provide pilots to their bio-ships? Like they did with humans through the PSI Corps? I don't think a Wraith Queen would be happy to have that happen to their people, and not against their competitors, either. I think the drive to preserve their own race would overrule any power struggles among their own peoples.
Nor do I see the Shadows wanting to use the Wraith for their own long range plans. They want conflict to advance species, not one race that basically eats all the others.
The Shadows would win, if they even bothered to fight the Wraith. More likely, they would think that they were too primitive and not really suited to their long range goal of advancing other species through conflict.
Here's a thought: I wondered if the invaders from "Third Space" were only defeated by the Vorlons with the help of the Shadows? When they opened that gate to Third Space for the first time, did the Vorlon's have the ability to stop the invaders by themselves? The Shadows would not want the Third Space aliens to mess with their own plans either, so I wonder if there was a truce and a team up to fight them together. After all, the first time that device was used, none of the younger races had spaceflight tech or maybe even existed. It does seem that even the Vorlon's couldn't destroy the gate for some reason, so they hid it.
I think for them to go to actual war one would need to precieve some type of betrayal

Great video, Thanks for doing it. I really loved it. You took it in a great direction, having the Wraith absorb Shadow technology into their own vessels to become even more powerful. The Shadows work for advancement though chaos and conflict, where as the Wraith are stagnate, so I don't think that they would get along.
Awesome video, here's another idea no one has done, the shadows vs reapers of mass effect. Who would win, would the shadows be immune to the reapers abilities, would reapers be able to overcome the shadows like the other race. I for one would love to see that fight.
it would make sense for the wraith to ally with the shadows i agree. but they are not stupid so i assume that the wraith would improve on the shadow tech even if it is not the best tech the shadows have and after a while they would be capable of engade the shadows special if the shadow cloack is breached and i also assume that the queens would find out sooner or later that the shadow ships arevulnerable against psi attacks.
I think blow for blow the Wraith simply cannot hold out against Shadows weaponry. Shadow vessels have weapons that soar above even the ancients, and the wraith hive ships would likely get one-shotted in every engagement. Also, their ships are FAR too big to outmaneuver the Shadow in any way. They might be able to use the Darts as missiles but outright the Shadows have too much of an advantage and would stomp.
The shadows would wipe out the wraith, they have diametrically opposed goals. The wraith seek more and more humans to harvest, held stagnant and disrupted by cull after cull, the shadows seek to promote growth through struggle, flesh farmers vs ultra Darwinists, stagnancy vs forced evolution
The Shadows would annihilate the Wraiths 😂😂
