It is so refreshing to hear this young guy who is so aware clearly about some sensitive and important issues which the mainstream media often make distortion and lies about.
The Uyghur language is even on the RMB bills. If China is so busy erasing Uyghur culture and language (what they refer to as a Genocide, wth), then it sure is doing a terribly lousy job. Also Tibetan and Mongolian script are on the RMB bills.

I have a coworker always claiming China arresting his Christian church members. I tried to get a name but he will not give it. I know many Christians that are there. Mostly ones from Taiwan. They don't seem to have any issues. I bet his Christian church members go there to harrass and try to convert people. I get a lot of them here in the US and I'm tired of them.

Another misconception is gdp growth. Americans love comparing India to China and how growth rate of India will surpasses China. But China has higher gdp per capita than India. Making the quality of growth even higher per percentage.
The Indians will be extremely happy when western countries praise them and they will start shouting India superpower. But anyway that is good for them at least there have something to be happy.
I would far prefer to live in China than in India.

As a Chinese citizen I was like "WTF" when I heard they talked about " social credit system" years ago, but I soon just laughed it off because this is by far not the most ridiculous thing about China I have heard from them.

It's kinda funny how both the American right/left will accuse the other side's media of fake news and propaganda whenever they report something that they disagree with, but when it's about China then it's suddenly 100% the truth.

China does more to fight pollution and climate change than any other nation. Green energy. Electric vehicles. Reforestation. China now has safe and reliable Thorium molten salt reactors, a huge breakthrough.
China is the factory of the world and manufactures for all other countries. That's why China produces so much CO2 emissions. But on a _per capita basis,_ China produces less than Canada, USA, Australia & New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, and Germany.
Do you want China to continue manufacturing cheap goods for you? Or do you want to be completely cut off? Your choice.
The US debt is a much greater concern than China's debt. The USA is on the verge of another massive financial crisis, in fact, the mother of all financial crises. Expect it within the next decade.
China has never seized any nation's assets over debt default. Sometimes, it forgives debt. Other times, it negotiates long-term leases. Western propagandists characterize this as predatory.
China respect *all* of its ethnic minorities. In fact, in many instances, China treats these minorities better than the Han Chinese.
Just look at China's RMB currency notes. You will find Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur and Zhuang script on the back! That's how much China respects ethnic minorities.

European media is pretty much controlled by the US too. Google News Corp for an example. It owns a few hundred media companies worldwide. They own publishers, newspapers, news channels, movies. They have their own cables and satellites. Every government licenses their newspapers and TV for public contents as a national security requirement. They are US allies, or NATO, therefore the US controls their media by controlling the government departments that license the media. It’s the same for Japan, Korea, Singapore, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Great vid! CO2 emission is cumulative and as you stated started in the late 1800's with UK industrializing then rest of europe and USA. The collective west has put out exponentially more CO2 then China which just started modernizing last 30yrs. Even with all that, the per capita CO2 emission of China is half of USA and this with China making everything for USA.

I started forwarding your last 2 vlogs to so called friends and colleagues and you state exactly what I have been saying for the last few years but people don’t believe me about social credit and BRI etc etc so I’ve given up trying to explain myself except start a very very amateur channel myself a few months ago and they still don’t me because I’m Chinese and a communist lover

I have not been to China, but did not like England. Far too capitalist and a lot of people have an "I, me and myself" attitude.
That is not to say I did not meet some wonderful people there. Maybe it is their system that makes people egotistic.
It is thanks to the internet that I found out more about China, about what communism truly is, (Emerican, Caleb Maupin's "why I became a communist," Michael Parenti, Prof Richard Woolfe's "What is Marxism").
On the other hand it also opened my mind to the malicious media propaganda and control of social media networks. Which are controlled by the global capitalists who also lobby the government.

Fun fact: The Taiwanese island of Kinmen is only about 3 km from mainland China. If Taiwan comes under the US dominance, this would mean that the US could put a base with nuclear weapons 3 km from mainland China. Remember what happened when the Russians wanted to put nukes in Cuba (as a result of the US putting nukes in Turkey), and imagine what would likely happen if the Chinese wanted to put their nukes in Mexico. When the Solomon Islands (~2,000 km away from Australia), recently entered a security policing agreement with China, the Australian media went totally ballistic and hysterical about China "threat".
I'm in Canton and people in Canton and Hong Kong can freely speak Cantonese without any government interference.
Knowing that it's debunked, I'm pretty annoyed that "Social Credit Score" have transcended from being a myth into being a (popular) internet meme, a joke, and a kind of insult label used to shut down people.
It keep being mentioned everywhere, spreading the myth, while attempts to correct it will get shut down.
They were just netizens meming after all, they weren't there to have a discussion.
I'm really really really pissed off by the social credit system question which has been thrown to me at least 30 times when I'm living here in Germany. all they know about China is this bloody social credit system.

I used to watch western international news channels but I prefer to watch Asia English news channels now because of all the wrong understandings & perception they have about China. One rule I always stick to, dramatic headlines designed to invoke negative feelings towards China, eg 'China is negotiating for peace in the Middle East, But why?', 'China is at the forefront of EVs, but at what costs?' Those I will skip automatically. They are getting more and more insidious though.

Harvey, in 1950 and 60's UK smoke- laden fog blanketed most parts Britain and thousands lost their live then. I believe, the smog or pollution in London is worse than in Shanghai.
True, China isn't about to invade China. China hopes for a peaceful reunification. Sun Tzu's war principles involve winning without fighting. True, China will not rule out a war waged to forcibly prevent secession. That will happen if Taiwanese leaders are crazy enough to declare independence.
China's provincial debts are indeed high, but such debts are owed to China's own people. They are internal debts.
As for local language use, I can only bring up the example of the US. Is it even permissible to open up a pure Chinese language school in the US, where all lessons are taught in Chinese or for that matter, any other language? The Chinese are obviously a minority there. US state propaganda of course teaches that Jefferson, a slave-owning landlord who fathered half breeds with his slaves, had a faultless character. Phew, we know better and please, Americans, spare us your moral preachings. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

The %PERCENTAGE% of ethnic Han Chinese in TAIWAN is actually HIGHER than in Mainland China.
While Mainland China has about 91-92% of its population who are ethnic Han Chinese with the other about 8% of the population consisting of ethnic National Minorities like the Zhuangs, Mongols, Tibetans, Koreans, Uighurs, Hui Muslims, Dai, etc. etc. etc.
The ethnic Han Chinese in Taiwan come to a STAGGERING 97% of Taiwan population, the remaining 3% being of various small non-ethnic Han Chinese groups.
