    I recently got into 4k. Having that flexibility in post is amazing. Now i feel i would need 6k haha. Great video!!

    • @chadwin

      Max Soto haha 4k is plenty of resolution, trust me you probably don’t need more right now. I’m only doing it cause it’s there and will be nice to mix in with other 4k footage.

    Really awesome video man! Just wanted to mention that the “presets” folder has nothing to do with LUTs. It’s actually for creating presets for your shooting styles (frame rate, resolution, etc). So you can go from 6K raw to high speed 120 with one button. I have all my presets for all my different clients. Otherwise this video nailed it bro!

    Great video! You mentioned in the video that you would have a video available about what LUTS to use in the BMCC 6K Pro. Is that video available? I'm curious about what LUTS to use and how to use them in my new BMCC6K Pro. Please let me know if it is available. Thanks!

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  3 года назад +1

      no problem! My suggestion is to just shoot in the most flat profiles can on both cams, to Film on pocket 6k and slog 2 or 3 on the a7s so you have plenty of room to color grade and match them! it'll take some manual work but they can be matched.

    Whats the highest quality you can record with using the T5 SSD without dropping frames?

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  5 лет назад

      The highest quality I've been filming at is full 6k at 5:1 ratio. Anything beyond that makes massive files. I haven't notices any frame drops. You can turn on a setting though that will stop recording if any frames are dropped.

    Hey, man.
    How did you solve the problem? I know you're shooting with Sony too. Yesterday I filmed an interview with two cameras BM 6K and Sony a7iii.
    In Bm I put 4k UHD 24 FPS (project timeline 23.98) and in Sony I put 23.98 FPS. currently I fail to combine these two cameras in a multicam clip in FCPX. It looks like framerates are jumping in BM footage. I renderess MB footage in 23.98 separately, same result - can't make multicam clips, framerate jumps still. Have you encountered a similar problem?

    Can you change the aperture of your lens via the camera itself? Or do you need to use manual aperture lenses for this?

      Jack Miller yes, if you have canon mount lenses with electronic connections, you can control the aperture and focus using the camera as normal

    • @ekphotography
      @ekphotography 5 лет назад +2

      Chadwin Smith amazing, I just think the 6k is over kill for most people unless they have amazing computers and lot’s of storage. Most of my clients are asking for HD only, and very few 4K. BMD has the best color science of any camera period.

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  5 лет назад +1

      ekphotography yeah, 6k isn’t necessary right now and takes up a ton of space and processing power. But I got it over the 4k for two main reasons. Bigger sensor and anamorphic mode. Yes, the color science is so good! I’ve been very impressed

    I still to this day cant figure out why people don't shoot straight 24. yes I know about the analogue reasons and NTSC etc, but I don't know why anyone would need to still work with it. unless you have a client for broadcast and they have strict regulations about it. seems 99.9 percent of the world is on digital consumption. Another thing about the T5 ssd. MANY people including myself have experimented with foster and smaller drives but they don't work. Has to do with the buffers in the drive I believe. I have an ssd that is twice as fast as the T5 and it will not work. computer read/write pipeline is much different than how cinema cameras feed it.
