    How did the Fox shocks compare to the factory shocks?

      I originally went from factory to Bilstein and that was a completely different ride for the better. They’d worn out but I feel like the Fox are comparable to the Bilstein when they were new.

    It’d be real nice if he told us the size of the ratchet and ranch and socket and everything

    Thanks for video. How did you break that lower shock nut? Mine was not that easy.

      Thankfully mine wasn’t bad I just used the wrench you see in the video. That was me breaking it loose I hadn’t pre-loosened it or anything. Hopefully yours is all wrapped up now, thanks for the comment!

    Hello I had a quick question?
    The other day I was driving on the freeway and i hit something on the road causing me to turn towards the wall the truck it messed up my alignment and I guess on impact the truck lifted up and went back down on the left side,
    Took it to a mechanic to inspect it and he replaced the front Track bar because it was loose so I replaced it and got a alignment.
    Today I drove it and every time I was driving and would get on uneven roads and do sharp left turns I hear a thump sound
    Earlier I got on the curb and leaned all the weight on the Left side where the accident happen and I makes a thump sound when I get on and off the curb . My question is you think the shock absorber is out ?

      Hello, it’s possible it’s out however in my experience bad/blown shocks tend to provide a rougher ride or that floating/boat feeling - not typically a thump sound. Just based on what you’re saying I would suspect a bad control arm bushing or, and I’m not throwing stones at your mechanic but perhaps the new track bar isn’t tightened all the way or there needed to be a sleeve in the bushing to be the proper size for the bolt. My technique for finding these clunks is to have somebody stand on the door seal and try to roll the body back and forth while I listen underneath to determine exactly where the noise is coming from. If this doesn’t work have that same person slowly turn your steering wheel back and forth slowly far enough the wheels turn around 10-15 degrees and watch for ANY movement of the frame to the track bar, your tie Rod ends or control arms. You may also be able to hear a click/clunk from any bad joints. I hope this helps and best of luck to you!

    So you don’t even need to Jack up the truck?. Or what am I missing here ?.

    • @nickjeeps
      @nickjeeps  Месяц назад +1

      Correct, no need to jack up the truck.

    How did it ride and do you like the puck spacers on your coils or should I look at new coils?

    • @nickjeeps
      @nickjeeps  Год назад

      The ride was quite a bit smoother so I’m very happy with them. It’s hard to say specifically if they were that much better than the Bilsteins because they also smoothed the truck out a lot when I put them on but they were worn now. I put the Bilsteins on when the truck had around 200 miles on it and they were a large improvement over stock. I’m happy with the spacers. I’m not looking for any additional suspension travel just some height so the spring qualities remain the same just in a different position. I hope this helps!

    Did you get the stock size shock?

    • @nickjeeps
      @nickjeeps  6 месяцев назад +1

      No these shocks are for a 2-3.5” lift. I have the level kit on the front which I recall was supposed to be about 2.5” taller over stock height.

      Whats the stock size of shock for 4th gen cummins??

    • @nickjeeps
      @nickjeeps  3 месяца назад

      I’m having trouble finding the dimensions of the oem shock but Bilstein calls for their shock with a 21.77” extension and 17.6” for a 4th gen with no lift.

    What size hex?

    • @nickjeeps
      @nickjeeps  Год назад

      The Bilstein had a 5.5mm and the Fox had a 6mm so this size may vary depending on the shock manufacturer.
