man its these dialogue moments with Arthur and John where I wish I could let wolfbrains here tag along in my gallivanting adventures like R* originally planned....oh well. maybe in Red Dead III eh?
I had an interaction at Clemens point in the dead of night at camp, there was a question mark like when Arthur talks to one of the girls about murdering people, only this time he sat down at the campfire and told a story like we see other members of the gang do.
@@Charliosos he apologizes for being a grumpy asshole and explains he’s just worried about the gang, wants everyone to be OK, like Dutch and Hosea. Of course this is paraphrasing. But I have 300 hours on PC (300 on Xbox as well) and I have NEVER seen this once. This game is so deep.
I didn't know that was a rare interaction. I did that on my first play through. After researching for my second play through, apparently I've done a whole bunch or found "rare" stuff just by happen stance.
@@irregularrex4004 so many of the interactions are so rare. For example, after you get the letter from Mary in Chp 1, there's a chance two random townsfolk will visit camp, where Hosea threatens to them to leave
"Forget my friend, he's simple minded, dropped on his head as a baby..." The only way to make a guy like Arthur seem unthreatening is to make him an idiot with no discernment. Then that threat... (Chef's kiss)
I actually triggered this in my current playthrough but I didn't notice until I started a mission, saw them on my way out of camp but they just got on their horses and left without dialogue.
Had this on my first playthrough. Didn't realize it was rare. They were so close to camp though I thought they were related to the main story somehow, like Milton was.
My favorite is when Miss Grimshaw walks up to Arthur and asks him if he’s heard of someone running around shooting everyone they see. She claims she thought it was but but then changes her mind to think it’s you (which it is if you run and gun and kill everything that you pass on the roads)
"great inability at basic comprehension" I agree, a lot of consternation happened due to my own brainfarts. And a lot of people seem utterly incapable of hearing what I'm trying to convey when I speak to them... They don't hear what I do say yet they hear a lot of things that I don't say and then it's impossible to convince them that what they heard isn't what I said.
i think just saying "people seem utterly incapable of comprehending what I am saying to them" is better. I also think that you should remove the "do" right before you say "say".
Or maybe they do hear it, but they refuse to acknowledge being wrong and either starts gaslighting you, or trying to strawman your arguments. Those types are annoying as hell.
It happened to me only once during my 2nd playthrough I believe, it's indeed the rarest encounter and feels so natural seeing that people are passing through there and they go to see who's there, unlike other games where your camp or house is basically a fortress where no one can enter except you or your allies
Hosea is the best example of this, but it’s insane when you compare the intelligence of the van der linde gang to the others, like the O’driscal’s and Lemoyne Raiders. You interact with those bunch and there’s nothing in between the ears, can’t even shoot straight either.
That's just because both gangs are down to their 800th or so members after Arthur murdered the first 799 of 'em. They take whoever they can get at this point.
I LOVE that last exchange between Hosea and the stranger. It was essentially “if you haven’t already picked up on this: if you intrude in our business, you will die” and the guy got it pretty quick because he was already suspicious. There’s a level of subtlety and clever characterisation (of Hosea, I mean - he’s shown to be slick and scary in a very elegant way here) that is rare to see in AAA games
Part of me wishing it was 2018 again, so I got to experience this game for the first time. Also things were a lot different before the 2020s rolled in.
Funny thing is I remember getting this in my very first playthrough years ago but I wondered if I dreamt it since it never happened in any of my next ones.
Hosea subtly getting in his "draw" stance with his right hand at the ready to pull back that duster and start shredding those knuckleheads in to swiss cheese; straight up OG badass.
I saw Sean shooting snakes while he was on guard duty once. I have no idea of that was scripted or if the snakes were following me. I don't think they were following me since the event happened right after I unintentionally fell through the map while gathering supplies from one of the camp's wagons. I teleported back to ground level and saw Sean shooting snakes lol.
Hosea slowly, almost casually shifting to a fighting stance, and his hand is over his pistol before you even realize all them fancy words he just said were a threat. 😂
0:25, 0:51 Arthur said nothing and the men kept asking about him. Hosea covered it as him being slow, but it sounded like they were spooked by him. Idk if Arthur was mean mugging them but it definitely helped sell Hosea’s hidden threat lol

@@Geo_TV I've never seen any. You mean cougars?
@twistedhellhound666
My cousin swears they were bobcats. He even killed them, and the game called them bobcats.
@@Geo_TV If you are talking about the first game, then yes. They were scrapped for RDR2
Those fools are lucky I was on my High Honor playthrough. 😂
If you kill someone near camp you "lose"... So, i gess it was you the one lucky there.
@@nicolasgarcia248 oh, for sure. I totally would have suffered some serious consequences.
@@xDjembex yeah... I know.
man its these dialogue moments with Arthur and John where I wish I could let wolfbrains here tag along in my gallivanting adventures like R* originally planned....oh well.
maybe in Red Dead III eh?
Acording to Rob Nelson it was not good enough so they cut it but could have added more random events withh camp members.
Red Dead III you play as Dutch with Hosea tagging along yeehaw
I had an interaction at Clemens point in the dead of night at camp, there was a question mark like when Arthur talks to one of the girls about murdering people, only this time he sat down at the campfire and told a story like we see other members of the gang do.
Dude, no joke, got that a few hours ago never knew about it till then
Well, what does he tell??
Think I got this first playthrough but never again im convinced you will never see everyone everytime 😂
"who's that creepy looking fella?" *points at arthur
"he's the village idiot, ignore him"
"Forget my friend, he's simple minded, dropped on his head as a baby..." The only way to make a guy like Arthur seem unthreatening is to make him an idiot with no discernment. Then that threat... (Chef's kiss)
I actually triggered this in my current playthrough but I didn't notice until I started a mission, saw them on my way out of camp but they just got on their horses and left without dialogue.
The fluctuation in his voice when Hosea said “tragedies” would’ve had me ready to go home too shiiiii
Er, okay, but what Hosea is actually saying:
_Fools get murked when they don't take a hint._
@@kristonthesecond751"do" is to put emphasis on "say", as it's followed with them focusing on what he's *not* saying. It makes sense.
@@maazuponvelocity hmmm true that second part does make sense but the do isn’t entirely necessary
I remember experiencing this in my first playthrough about 5 years ago. Didn't know it was rare
Crazy how this game came out 6 years ago and we still ain't seen everything.
When you think you've seen everything in RDR2 a video like this pops up.
Such a legendary game.
I found this in my first playthrough, had no idea how rare it is.
He calls Arthur slow the whole time then says lack of comprehension causes tragedies, now that’s a good threat
I encountered this in my first gameplay, didnt know it is rare
I can only imagine how big gta6 is gona be
I LOVE that last exchange between Hosea and the stranger.
I’ve never known this encounter even existed
To be fair, they were looking straight at Will Billamson.
I love that Hosea’s explanation to everyone about Arthur is that he’s “slow”
Over 1,000 hours and never seen this once.
It’s things like this that make me remember why Hosea survived as long as he did, the man was next level in terms of cunning and intellect.
I got this on my first play through didn't realise it was rare
i love how Hosea always tries to solve stuff in a smart way
Need to show us that same scene with Arthur blowing them away.
i've never heard hosea sound more pissed before
i love that hosea's bit with arthur is always that he's slow in the head
Wow hosea straight up threatens them dudes in such a gentlemanly way.
Hosea scared the smarts into them and they left in quite the hurry 😂😂😂😂😂
OH NO, That means I have to complete it again
Karen behind them with a carbine in hand...good girl :)
6 years 10 walkthroughs and I never could trigger this
I saw Sean shooting snakes while he was on guard duty once.
We got a rare scene in RDR2 before GTA 6.
" If that's true... if you really don't know who I am... then maybe your best course, would be to *tread lightly* "
Don't EVER test hoseas gangsta
After nearly 6 years of daily playing, I've still never seen this
I’ve wanted nothing more than to trigger this encounter, how many play through sans I have yet to. Pretty bad ass, gives me chills.
Still finding new stuff after all these years... incredible!
Can’t be THAT rare. I’ve gotten it twice
I've done 10+ playthroughs and I've only triggered this once and idk how I even did it
0:25, 0:51 Arthur said nothing and the men kept asking about him. Hosea covered it as him being slow, but it sounded like they were spooked by him. Idk if Arthur was mean mugging them but it definitely helped sell Hosea’s hidden threat lol
It's so rare that i experienced this encounter in my 42th playthrough.
That's crazy I ran into that on my first playthroough of rdr when everything was still new to me. I love how everything just flows
Wow never heard Hosea so ready to kill some fools before.
I actually got this once I think
Hosea said 'You gon get folded boi'
