Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport based on striking, grappling and ground fighting, incorporating techniques from various combat sports from around the world.[1] The first documented use of the term mixed martial arts was in a review of UFC 1 by television critic Howard Rosenberg in 1993.[2]
10 UFC Fighters Who Lost Their Souls After Tough Losses
What do u think about that?
music during the intro please?
Lmfao I just used Google translate and Conner actually said "Grape will die"
read my comment Paul, you will learn something
Where is McGregors downfall after getting chocked
@DJ spider ft uncleMysterio when I watched Jon jones fight gustafson I thought jones lost but then I started to think more about close call fights where there's controversy, my conclusion is there is more to
It ,could gus beat as many fighters as jones in the same way yes gus gave him his hardest fight but he isn't up there with the iq and consistency
I am a guy who has suffered 4 concussions in my lifetime. I can tell you from personal experience that being knocked out is not a temporary injury. After every one your more likely for it to happen again. This is an awesome sport, but people shouldn't expect these athletes to have long careers. Your body just won't tolerate this kind of abuse in the long term.
I played hockey and got knocked out twice and rattled bad more times than I can count. 100% agree with you! They WILL change you permanently and in ways people will never understand!
Have to agree. Never personally been knocked out but I’ve had multiple concussions and seemingly each one, took less of an impact to make me see stars. Went from hard hits in games causing one rarely to routine hits creating lost time in my mind
Mind you, this was in football, with pads and rules in place to protect the head/neck. Violent sports result in head injuries, resulting in short careers, and likely short lives. Just the nature of the beast I suppose
You are absolutely right I've seen the white flash and felt the heat 3 times and I'll be honest it changed me .
Yes each time you get knocked out you can get knocked out easier next time then next time even easier yes that's very true
I think the most tragic part of Tonys story is he never got a title shot 12 fight win streak and no title shot is absolutely insane
Dana held a whole division up in spite of Tony being interim… it’s freaking sad
Yes, and I am sure that he would have beaten up Khabib
Because of that c-nt Mcnuggets

Been knocked out 3 times. 6 concussions. I’m a goalie in soccer, no MMA fighter, but I tell you this; you are never the same after one, let alone multiple, on a world stage.
I know exactly what you mean about..
Never being the same after concussion.
In October I suffered my latest, it has changed a lot in terms of memory and patience with other people.
It makes me sad at times due to who I was, and what I feel now.
I suffer from headaches a lot more than I ever did before.
If you hit your head, go see a doctor.
Multiple head strikes can cause unseen yet irreversible damage to your brain.
Please be careful. 🙏
@@StraightouttaBristol memory is something that has definitely suffered the most from my concussions but the hardest part is trying to act normal sometimes. I’m more snappy and on edge, so I’ve had to be consciously aware of that at most times. Absolutely draining.
@@shaggysmokes5193
I know exactly how you feel
@Shaggy Smokes you're not alone brother/sister. I had my skull cracked in my teens by another kid with a large rock.. my old self... I kinda miss him you know, but I hardly remember him anymore... I'm grateful I'm alive and able to function well enough to be Happy. You're not alone, I'm here with you, and I know and feel your pain.
@@isssaiiaha8789 alive and happy is all I need. My concussions have made me much more grateful for what I do have and what I am able to do. It was hard to understand my time was up in sports, but at 21 with 6 concussions I had to call it quits. I am thankful for the gym more than ever because of this. Just have to find happiness elsewhere
Gustafsson downfall hurts a lot, one of the best to never win a title
Sucks he was in his prime same time as DC and Jones. Prime Gus around today would be a legit champ.
We all know Gus won that first fight.
@Justin-jg2hi nah. I heard that a lot and I finally watched the fight and Jones won it. And I hate Jones.
He beat jon in that first fight
@@rally_chroniclesno
It's why some people become legends. Being physically tough is only part of what's needed. The mental toughness is what really counts.
Yea, I get what you're saying, but at what point does the mental toughness lead you to permanent injury?
@@dojo3175 well you can watch fighters like Nazeem Hamed who didn't like getting hit or you can watch fighters like Nick Diaz. It's easy to convince yourself it's doing damage when it just hurts. I guess it comes down to why you fight.
Fight because you like it and fight to show off are very different things.
This is definitely not why fighters "become legends"

It was also great to see Robbie with Rory at the hospital : respect between 2 total warriors - a rare breed.
All that for a couple of bucks
@@HeavyMetalMayhem clearly it's not for everyone, {like heavy metal artist becoming deaf} very few jobs are without risks : short, medium and longer time-frames.

Tony Ferguson is probably an example of someone who is too tough for his own good and that will have devastating effects on his health a little later on in his life. That fight with Justin Gaethje shaved years off of Tony's life without a doubt. Even though Gaethje wasn't going in on him with full power, the punches he was landing repeatedly were very powerful and you could hear the impact of each punch landed due to no crowd being at the fight. Those shots would have KO most anyone else but the fact that Tony absorbed bomb after bomb from the heavy handed Gaethje will no doubt be a factor later on in his life I am afraid.
Speaking of Justin Gaethje I believe that he will have one of the most severe cases of CTE once he retires from fighting due to his ability to withstand powerful shots to the head and still be dangerous even when he is on rubber legs. People may not realize it now but Justin is literally giving everything to entertain the crowds and I feel like he knows this as well. I pray he remains healthy but the way things are looking we are going to start to see the results of all these blows to the head and how it effects these modern day gladiators...
Oh justin knows. He said it himself. "I have 5 wars left"
I am glad you are mentioning the physical and emotional cost of such beasty sport, for the present but above all their future as a person.
There is definitely repercussions.
Being knocked repeatedly on the head is not a good recipe for old age.
@@micalzoncillo249
Nah he now said next loss he quit
Too bad they don’t get paid more. A lot more!
I don’t know why people always say this.
He’s taken hits yes, but if you research strikes absorbed lists, Gaethje isn’t even remotely close to the fighters who have taken an excess amount of strikes.
Fighters like Donald Cerrone or Max Holloway should be mentioned before him.
Cody Garbrandt will beaks my heart. Blows my mind how he went from giving a GOAT level performance against Dom to 5 losses out of 7
That fight Cody had against Cruz was one of the best performances i've seen.
Agreed. That was his masterpiece!
He was in the zone
Truly
Yeah, he was Neo for that fight.
I Agree Cody Went Into God Mode A Awesome Performance By No Love
Ronda's issue was really with her coach (and possibly bf) convincing her that she's some kind of elite stiker. Her strength was always grappling, but it got into her head that she should start throwing hands in the ring instead of sticking with her classic "takedown and submit" strategy that worked so well
That, and in my opinion, she needed a psych coach as well. A lot of athletes do better with that. She bundled all her self worth into the title, and doubled down on that style after the first loss. I think she should have switched camps and leaned into her strengths as you pointed out.
She bought into her own hype
Yep, who could ever forget that comical footage of her before the Holm fight shadow "boxing". Just throwing straight shots, no speed of hands, no head movement, no footwork. Yet her coach convinced her she could box. Even during the Holm fight, she didn't try anything other than stand up and throw hands. Weird to think that her entire life could be different now if her coach had said to during the Holm fight, "you are losing the stand up, so maybe try a take down or too".
Smelling her own farts
So...how many of the Rousey stoppages were from arm bar? 100%? Wouldn't be less than 80%. Total one trick pony, Ronda. Her kryptonite was any opponent who could defend against them.
It’s heartbreaking to see a person in a fighting sport lose their chin. Chuck Liddell was my first beloved fighter I witnessed lose his chin. He was an iron man but after so many punches he couldn’t stand anymore and I watched him get brutally knocked out about 5 times before he finally quit. Look at him now and you can tell he’s in bad shape.
It’s tough to think that there’s other people that are going through this but I don’t even notice because I can’t stop watching
Same here. I remember watching the Shogun fight and then the Rich Franklin fight knowing that the Iceman wasn't the same fighter anymore. I think after the Wanderlai Silva fight he started to drastically go downhill from there...
Chuck is in a bad shape only because of alcohol
Actually out his last 7 he only won 1 fight. Dana White had to pay Chuck Liddell to retire because Chuck love fighting, you could see it in his eyes and punches. Tony Ferg is the same way, he doesn’t want to retire because he loves fighting, They’re both animals.
Didn’t Chuck get ko’d by Tito not too long ago?
@@peacefrog64 yup and Tito was still active while Chuck wasn't
Knocked out a couple times in a couple fights is one thing. The repetitive blows like Justin gave Tony for almost 5 full rounds is what seriously causes problems. That fight took a couple years off Tony's life
I remember Khabib talking about that fight. He was saying that he didn't even want to fight Fergusen after that because he was now compromised. "You never fully recover after you take a beating like that."
The spirit and psychology of fighters is by far the most intriguing part of the sport. Great video.
Now you see why Floyd Jr was able to fight as long as he did.
He developed arguably the best defense in boxing and rarely got hit really hard.
So he didn't end up with a number of concussions and lose his ability to fight.
He may have put on some boring fights, but he proved that defense is king.
Sugar ray Robinson fought more / had more wins
@@tequila_tibbs7938 He also lost 19 times.
Are making pointless points one of your hobbies?
I realize I'm chiming in on this but
I feel like it needs to be pointed out that sugar Ray Robinson got
the vast majority of his 19 defeats
at the end of his career. If it was possible to have a prime Mayweather fight a prime Robinson..without ANY hesitation
I"m putting my money on Robinson. He was that good.
@@jamessouza7065Robinson would have absolutely mauled Mayweather.
Miguel Torres always comes to mind for me. 7-7 record after the knockout loss to Brian Bowles before retiring. Still picked up some wins but crazy how fast he dropped off.
Dan vs Dustin wasn't so one sided. Dan won the first 2 rounds, but it's just those last 3, or more specifically the last 2 rounds were in the words of Makhachev, "he almost died there". But the fight as a whole was competitive.
Yup. Never was the same after that.
Right, when he said he got dominated and all that extra shit i was surprised, cuz that's the furthest thing from true smh that was the Greatest fight in UFC history, in my opinion. Definitely the best lightweight division. Idk what fight this dude was watching 🤦🏾♂️
I watched that game again. Dan seems to punch more, but he doesn't have many clean punches. Dustin deals much better damage. The proof is that after that he was fine with an iron chin.
@@fudgepacker2858 They both went t the hospital. And if you've seen Dustin's post fight photos he uploaded a day or so later at home then you will see why it was a war for both.
@@fudgepacker2858 who told you he couldn't walk. They were embracing each other after the match. He was standing right besides him when Dustin's hand was being lifted.
the Tony-Gaethje fight was the only MMA fight where I ever thought that is enough man stop, In the end Tony was like involontarily shaking his head like he couldn't take more abuse it was hard to watch
Nope. Not in a world that also has Don Frye vs Yoshihiro Takayama.
Ben Askren did actually choke out Robbie Lawler which is why he dropped his hand. Herb checked his hand which led to Ben loosening the choke, allowing Robbie enough oxygen to wake up. Let's not continue the narrative that it was a ref mistake.
I agree
Thank you.
Agreed. No shot Robbie was getting out of that bulldog choke with Ben's squeeze anyways.
The ol unconscious thumbs up
@hatethetube46 the thumbs up was prior to Herb grabbing his hand to check. Takes only a handful of seconds to choke someone out.
Rory Macdonald was my favorite fighter. Loved his style
Really sucks how he ended up after his career ended. His fight with Lawler is still among the best I’ve ever seen.
@@jdisdetermined Just to put this out there Rory is doing great from what I can see now that he is retired. Has a beautiful family and looks like he is enjoying his retirement, and is happy with his career.
@@matttoews2784 Wait.. he isn’t the one who was arrested a bunch of times with the pill addiction? Live-streamed one of the arrests and everything? I must be thinking of someone else..
@Keith Olsen there's a few fighters who definitely fit close to that description but that isn't Rory haha. Rory's an awesome guy (despite everyone thinking he was a serial killer for a while there)
@@matttoews2784 Right on. Thanks for the info!
Now it’s gonna bug the *shit* out of me trying to remember who I saw.. 🤔😁
Good work on this. Shows how a nasty loss and knock-out can last for years. Staring into that dark void can really mess with you. After a few, even after a solid career, a bad knock-out can end it all.
Kumaru usman 💀
Add petr yan at this point 😔 even with the sandhagen win, that knee killed his career
To name Jose Aldo on this list is insane!!! He changed weight classes and became a contender. Fkn nuts there!!!!
He's not the same. Great, but not the same. I wonder what happened to his leg kicks. He stopped throwing the leg bombs that were a big part of his game.
@@lrom5445 my understanding is tok many foot injuries.
By far the most insane amount of absorbed damage in UFC fight Rory Mcdonald with Robbie Lawler in second fight and Tony Ferguson with Justin Gaethje.. Just scary to watch how brain damage is done...
Holloway is the king of blocking strikes with his face
@@ollu4204dude Holloway is king. Period. Dude is a Goat how can you even talk trash about that man smh
Watch Frye v Takayama at Pride. That's a real man's fight.
I miss the young Cody Garbrandt. He looked really good and his first round on the prelim card for Jones vs Gane. I hope he can pull around an make a come back
Unfortunately I think it was more the fact his opponent had no business being in a UFC octagon than Cody actually being that good.
Well he looked good because he fought a severely overmatched opponent.
@DireGoth03 fundamentals? Fundamentals include head movement and not leaving yourself wide open.
Even in this most recent win he didn't look particularly good his opponent just had no business being in a UFC octagon.
@@andrewhite4431 Dom Cruz wasn't overmatched. Cody fought perfectly that day.
So hard to see when a fighter takes one bad loss and is just never the same again.
That Askren/Maia fight was very underrated. Constant back and forth between jiujutsu and wrestling
Renan barao for sure. Went from one of the pound for pound best fighters to a completely different guy after that first tj loss
Arlovski was told he was done about 10 years ago after several brutal knock outs but some how he was able to pull it together. He might be the only example of getting knocked out on the reg and then having a good career following that.
Facts he deff gonna be remembered for that after his careers done
@@jonnycarter46
Not by him, he won’t remember anything
Oliveira was also in such a terrible streak. TKOed twice and Submitted Twice in the span of 6 fights.
Amazing he managed to turn it around and go on a winning streak and win a title
This is why corners need to feel comfortable throwing in the towel.
These guys are way too tough to quit. They wont do it. That JG fight basically ended Tony's career. It was so hard to watch.
It was a great fight, but watching tony take that damage was rough.
As simple as it sounds, this is also very tricky in a sport where a KO stoppage can come at any time; not withstanding if a person was losing or winning. A KO takes seconds and that’s that, done!
It’s obvious fighters and corners believe they can pull it out the fire and deliver a fight ending strike which would ultimately crown the story.
Considering also this fighters are honed to endure insane amount of pain and push through enormous adversity, you’d never really realise when a person isn’t actually being tough and has just had enough. The line isn’t very clear especially in the heat of the moment , when something is on the line. To the fighters and corners, it’s just another day at the office to push past your limits.
The only perk here is your limit is another human standing across and pummelling you until the ref calls it or you drop unconscious to the canvas.
@@gabrielwillie4041 potential KO, or braind damage... tough choice am i right

Great video! I really enjoyed it. I think alistair overeem would’ve been an interesting fall from grace story, too.
Justin gaethje and poirier are my favorite fighters in the game. Never was a big Tony fan.
But it hurt my heart to see him get smashed like that, and I hated that he accepted the fight.. I wanted Tony to hold out and wait for khabib. But the dude is such a warrior he refused.
I don't think Tony would have done much against Khabib. Everyone wanted to see that fight happen, including me, but I don't think he would have won. Especially not the last cancelled fight.
@@somebody700 in 2016 he would've won, in 2020 he would have gotten TKOed in the 2nd round
Good video, good information when speaking and lots of highlights
World class Video ,thx for your work
I heard Cody’s beef with TJ was VERY personal. He clearly fought with emotion over poise vs someone not only whose a great fighter but was also on PEDs. It’s a shame to see how his career trajectory has gone since, but I’m hopeful he can find himself again and bounce back
Hes still young
Askren was well past his best when he joined the UFC, He survived being starched by one of the UFC biggest KO artists and won and lost to a freak KO. He also took the loos like a man.
It would have been the same overall story regardless. That’s why he stayed where he was for so long. Robbie was owning him & Herb screwed the pooch on that. One-dimensional guys get exposed in the UFC.
@@Ivantheterrible81280 Herb didn't screw up at all whatsoever, Robbies arm went limp he was out.. just because he regained himself fast doesn't mean he was never out.. it's happened to me aswell where you can go out for a literal second and be back. The only people who think that was an unjust stoppage are people who have never been choked

The best about the Holm Rousey fight is that Holm wasn't ready for a title fight. Dana pushed the fight up. He largely underestimated how inept Tarverdyan was to have a grappler believing she could out box a boxing champion
Holly only had 2 fights in the ufc.
Might have had a different result if Ronda had realised this too, but seems she had drunk too much 'greatest woman fighter in UFC' kool-aid, and tried to box with a boxer
This is beautiful yet very brutal profession. After being knocked out you will lose durability and it will be for you to get knocked out again. Only gets worse.
let’s just continue to appreciate and show them the respect they all deserve
Lawyer v Macdonald 2 was, and is my favourite fight ever. I started watching ufc in 2005 and saw Rob's highs and lows. Then when he came back. Macdonald was a favourite too. I had no side in it, was brutal and a true fight of two warriors. ❤

I think Rory really had potential to not only win the title, but retain it. Unfortunately, he met Lawler (who was definitely on the decline, but still in what most would consider his prime)- and both of their careers changed that night. I've never seen a fight like that since, and honestly I'm not sure if I want to for the sake of the competitors. That was two high level athletes being 100% primal and still going for it with their bodies battered. When I was watching the Gaethje vs Tony fight or the Yan vs Faber fight, it gave me flashbacks- although it wasnt even remotely on the same level of Lawler vs Rory II. I'm not sure if Tony will ever be the same- Gaethje is the most violent person in a violent sport, and I genuinely think there's something atypical about the amount of power he generates/how strong his body is in terms of dealing with trauma. It would be almost idiotic for the UFC to book him vs Conor knowing that- especially now that Conor is out of his prime and has taken a lot of damage- I think Conor might be forced to retire if he takes that fight. Sage northcutt also had a lot of potential and hype behind him, definitely changed after the fractures to his skull. Give these people their flowers while they're still around, because the average career of a ufc fighter is pretty much the same as an NFL running back- it's a brutal sport.
Do you remember the blood bath after TUF season 1 with bonnar v.s griffin. I know its not ufc but Mvp v.s cyborg.
I wouldn't say conor has taken a lot of damage he has broke his ankle got quickly stopped by poirier choked quickly against the Russian. His decline has been self inflicted by having loads of hanger ons clubbing coke drinking no need to fight through money
I expected Dominick Reyes to be in the list.
Dominic, aldo, are honourable mentions
LOL! I forgot about him! How could I... I think maybe I even need a separate video for it.
@@mohammedsaddak5478 Aldo was on here lol
So sad seeing what all these fighters go thru for the sport they love Dan Hooker has the heart of a champion and in my top 5 fav fighters of all time.
A fight is a fight. A critical hit is a critical hit. Many people don't even make it passed sparring.
Much respect to each and everyone of these incredible athletes,,thank you 🙏
Jose Aldo was never on a complete decline, he was still competing with the best of the best, but it was time for him to lay down the MMA gloves.
Rhondas downfall was so spectacular it's still crazy to me. Literally went from absolutely unbeatable to completely gone from the sport in 2 fights. If her attitude wasn't so shitty I might feel bad for her lol
Agree
She refused to evolve with the sport and got left behind like so many before and those after her. Chuck Lidell, Tony Ferguson, etc. even Conor.
Not really unbeatable, just very good at using her judo to catch opponents in a lock. Should have stuck to arm bars, not let her ego and sycophants convince her she was the greatest ever UFC fighter and try throwing hands against boxers.
6:44 GO BACK TO SOCCER HAHAHAHA I LAUGHED SO HARD !!!!
You know you beat your opponent bad when they NEVER fight the same again
I like how you're implying that the quality of fighters in the OneFC is way to inferior compared to the UFC
I'll never forget that Jones vs Gustafson fight
McDonald and Lawler's 2nd fight was awesome both of their noses were flattened at the end it was crazy 🤣🤣😂.....
Geiles Video, wie immer🙏💙💪👊
Said it before. When one is the champ, you absolutely have to beat them decisively. Champs get and maybe rightfully so, an edge. Gustavson vs. Jones isn't the same as Hendricks vs. St. Pierre. But I think most people get the point.
Johnny Hendricks was juiced to the gills. USADA came to town and over night he had the sloppiest dad bod I've ever seen outside of heavyweights and Ben Askren. That's what made St Pierre leave the sport. Robbie was juiced to the gills against Rory it was so obvious watching the fight live. There's no way anyone could have walked through Rory's shots like he did, and every one of his punches were rearranging Rory's face. He lost because his face literally fell apart. I agree to be the champ you gotta beat the champ but come on man don't mention freaking Hendricks and St. Pierre.
Old post but yes back in the day you had to beat the champ decisively or atleast like strickland just did. Back then if you didn't beat the champ overwhelmingly you did not win. Gustafson today would have gotten the decision. Very good point you made !
It's always sad to see, once great athletes go downhill...also all Rhonda had was an armbar. That's it
Yep, that’s IT!
And judo
Rhonda the most overrated fighter in history. And Joe Rogan kiss ass, "she can beat 90% of the bantamweight men", hahaha. What a fan boy. And he gets so much respect, for what? Being a Stephen A Smith? Pathetic
Might need to redo the first entry on the list. Hooker proved his improved immensely and that he still has a crazy jaw in the Jalin Turner fight
great show!
This is one of the reasons why I love MMA. It's really the gift & the curse.
Mcdonald vs Lawler 2 Greatest Fight in UFC history. Big respect to Rory and Robbie
UFC 189 was a completely crazy event
Paul striker eng ,more expect 😊🔥
Nice video but what about Barao and Vick ?
Anyway, great job !!
The one that surprised me the most was Rousey. I never expected her to react to that Holly Holm loss the way she did. She just dropped off the radar instantly.
She believed all the bullshit people like Rogan were pushing about her.
Her ego couldn't take losing.
You can only tell who's a real warrior by how they deal with a loss.
As a Ferguson fan I absolutely hate Justin for what he did to Tony. But at the same time as an mma fan I respect Justin for the same reason. That's what sucks sometimes about this sport. All in all in the end I just hope both fighters (and all the others) get to end their careers on their own terms and hopefully with no horrible, lifelong lasting effects.
I was so pumped during the end of the robbie/rory fight...that i forgot how pissed i was for the first 2½ rounds of them 2 avoiding each other to the boos of the crowd.
been knocked out twice, second one was a 1-2 followed by a soccer kick. 9 years later still dizzy from any contact
Sadly just about every fighter in UFC MMA will pay with their health. Except for Khabib who retired before anybody could do to him what he did to most opponents.
He never knocked somebody out, or made them such damage like thoses fighters have received, he's fighting style let him avoid a lot of damage, he also knew when retired and stood healthy
@@nicolaslopez7427 he still did damage , just look what he did to Conner

You don't know. Internal injuries will catch up with age.
My least favorite is the story of Rory McDonald. I love the man.... He was absolutely championship material. He was an incredible fighter. I loved his mindset. He was such a good guy too. Favorite Canadian fighter bedsides st Pierre and I felt so bad for him.
I watched that Andre Arlovski vs FEDOR fight live on PPV and Andre was whipping Fedors ass bad, but then he decided to get fancy and throw a flying knee and Fedor threw that big bomb right on Andre's jaw and...OUT COLD ! At the time Fedor had never "Truly" been defeated. And I started watching at UFC #2 with Pat Smith(Big scary kickboxer who had just elbowed a Ninjitsu guy to death, almost.) vs Royce Gracie in the final. Through the GSP, BJ Penn, Brock Lesnar, Anderson Silva, Conor Mcgregor era's up until now. Still loving UFC! Thank GOD my girlfriend loves it too.
Exactly as khabib said, once you took that much damage you will never gonna be same. People dont want to understand what kind of practice and mentality fighters need for this sports. Its actually insanse, people just wanna see deadly fight that would make fighter in blood shed then they will consider that as fight. But once you get damaged like these, may be not today or tomorrow that damage would hurt your body. Thats why people like khabib are so intelligent. He know how to fight, when to fight and when to finish. Even though he finished his career 2 years earlier but even he continuous, im sure he dont want to continue this for more than 2 to 3 years. As he understand you have to do some other responsibilities as well and that needs a healthy life to carry on.
I love Dustin! Such a good sport!
Dan hooker and Poirier might be one of the most brutal fights I’ve seen and it was during Covid so no audience. you could hear just some of the loudest impacts from strikes for 5 rounds. It was amazing and terrifying at the same time.
Great video
At the very least, Rory gave us the greatest fight of all time ☝️
MMA is like Russian roulette
i just love how it shows how no matter how strong willed you are your age and physical health will eventually catch up to you and it happens even quicker when your a brawler who every fight is having a bloodbath
I’ve had from what I can remember four concussions in my twenty years of combat sports. 3 of them were from just training, only one in an actual fight. I’m 32 now and I’m epileptic, after a bad concussion from a session of bjj my whole life changed. Many people who train don’t even become pro but end up with injuries that are life changing, I got a lot of respect for these fighters stepping into a ring knowing any moment could change their lives or end it as they know it. It’s no wonder so many fighters end up with mental disabilities, I know the love of training and fighting but I would be lying to say I don’t understand these men after their losses, I remember my first time coming back after that serious concussion it’s been maybe 6-7 years and I’m still not the same. Be aware of the risks training you don’t gotta be a professional to get seriously injured or killed.
How are you not the same?
@@lollmao9906 Personality changes along with loss of memory and sometimes I’m physically limited depending on my condition at the time. I’ve had to change my whole life around now that im epileptic. Some days it’s even hard to talk or even do regular things, other days you’d never be able to tell unless I told ya, that being said I still love training despite my injuries IMO it’s always better to at least learn how to defend yourself vs getting into a situation with no self defense skills, head injuries are like knee injuries in soccer almost every person knows someone who’s at least had a concussion.

Tony will always be one of my favorites
A fighters confidence is as important as their ability to fight. Rory Macdonald, Petr Yan, and Darren Till when they lose their confidence or will to win, they become a shell of themselves
The only one that is still in their prime even from when I was a teen Jon bones jones. Love him or hate him he is the goat 🐐
Good work with the video . Everything on point as it should be
this goes for any sport: no matter how good you are there is always someone in the world better than you. (unless youre jon jones). records may stand but there is always someone capable of beating you. especially in mma, one can only get kicked and punched in the head, choked out and slammed onto the mat until it takes a toll on your body and your body just cant take it anymore. iron chins turn to glass after behind smashed repeatedly. they all proved themself and have sealed their name in combat sports history but your body can only take a beating for so long or until you meet the person who is better than you.
Even Jon Jones would eventually crumble, but it looks like he's smart enough to attempt going out on top.
Rumble was the one for jones
I was watching WWE before MMA.... sorry Jorge
Dan Hooker is consistently in the top 10, and is putting on fight of the year contenders! He’s anything but a lost soul.
P.s. - Rockholds last fight was not October of 2020, it was August 2022.
you should add Conor Mcgregor too!!
idk it depends on his performance against michael chandler
mcgregors biggest downfall was winning the 2nd belt.
never was the same after that
Shane carwin coulda been on here too. He was a beast before lesnar
His was massive back problems
I think he might of had the biggest hands in MMA. Cardio was a factor for him. He was awesome tho.
Aldo has nothing to be ashamed of. I think hes had one of the greatest runs in MMA history
Now Tony is a punching bag :), it is an evolution and best of his career in mma IMO
What lawler did to McDonald was brutal. Rory too tough for his own good keeping going at it with his nose all messed up. Could very much make an argument that running away and living to fight another day and he’d of been champ in near future. Gaethje to tony Ferguson brutal too
That 4 punch combination from Mcgregor was SICK!!! Too bad he left right after for years and made all that $$. His prime years and he wasn't fighting much. Hasn't been the same "MCGREGOR" since.
Matt Hughes never seemed to be the same fighter after the 2nd and 3rd fights of the GSP trilogy...he had some wins, including another Gracie family member, but then losses against Thiago, Koscheck, Penn, etc. I was praying he would retire, but, that's just something you can never tell a fighter. I hate watching past legends going out on stretchers, or just getting toyed with, but....
Never cared for Ken Shamrock, but i respected everything he brought to the sport. I felt terrible watching Franklin, then Ortiz destroying him like he was nothing.
Liddell continuing past U.F.C., especially against Ortiz, hurt to watch, as well.
Win or lose though, these guys, and gals have the utmost respect to myself.
Tony ferguson was an exciting fighter but the way it went downhil for him was sad back to back beatings, all he wanted was a chance to fight for the belt
Yeah it was a rough fall
felt kinda sad for tony's downfall cause of conor and khabib situation
Underdog for sure
@@likbingchang1945 they kinda keep those dudes away from Tony
Garbrant's Gym IS what caused his Swan Dive from The Top so Quickly.
His Own Talent, Motivation and Drive is what got him to The Top, Not Team Alpha Male.
Had Cody Been with a Gym that, "Let's see who can get CTE First" wasn't the Team Motto.... His Career.... Could Of.. Should Of..Would Of Been Unbelievably Different.
No Love would of ABSOLUTELY had a Dominant Title Reign of Most Likely 3-4 Years and then Talent Moved in to The Division that I believe he would of not been able to Match.
No Love is Proof that The Gym you Train at Will Undoubtedly Make And/Or Break You!
*Fun Fact: Team Alpha Male's Team Motto, Still To This Very Day is... Let's See who can get CTE First, While Using Technology.
Nice thumbnails 👍
Gustaf got screwed. Dana made sure to wait till Gustaf was past his prime to have the rematch.
Lawler really did take Rory's soul. His nose was never the same either, Rory had a ton of potential. People labeled him the next greatest Canadian next to GSP, he was never the same after Robbie.. Neither was Johnny Hendricks.
Robbie was juiced to the gills bro. It was so obvious that night watching the fight. Most of these fighters fought guys that popped with USADA, or that most people including the guys they faught suspect it. The title of the video should be careers that were derailed and ruined by juiced fighters. Think about it. Robbie hasn't done anything since USADA. Faught once a year if that. I don't even need to mention Hendricks, that's why Pierre left the sport. USADA comes Hendricks instantly has a dad bod and looks worse then Ben Askren. Smh
I forget who it was that said it... "Anyone who fights Robbie Lawler loses a piece of their soul."
Lawler was never the same again either unfortunately, Rory gave as good as he got, busted Lawler up and had him stunned more than once. I think Hendricks fell off due to USADA being so strict with PED testing and also banning IV drips which guys like Hendricks needed since he had hard weight cuts to make 170.
