It is so tragic what happened to polish resistance but it shows how brave they are. This song makes you feel polish pride even if you are not polish.

well said, makes me reflect on not taking things for granted as we do today in society. They didn't have that luxury.

Poland was like a mouse waiting for a hawk to save it from a snake.

I love your reactions and comments. I'm new to your channel but you already have a regular viewer in me. I am a Pole currently living in England, but we, Poles, take history very seriously and your comments hit the heart of the troubling thoughts of people who love history but there are many things they cannot understand... or simply are not able to because how can you understand the motives of even the holocaust. Thank you very much for your reactions because it's nice to see that someone feels the same way and has the same feelings especially in our new world. Regards and thank you again

My dear friend, thank you. Huge hug and welcome!!! At the end of the day we are all human and just want to wake up to a better tomorrow! We can't do that unless we learn from our mistakes. This Sabaton journey has made me appreciate so much and yet so much more to cover.

You know it's bad when one of the SS Nazi soldiers is like "The fuck are you doing?!"
It's crazy the horrors humans are capable of.

The Warsaw Uprising lasted 63 days (August 1 - October 3, 1944 ) . Even though it ended and people had to leave the city, the tragedy of the city was not over. The Germans began systematic demolition of the city. In which the Russians still did not disturb them. From October 1944, for the next three months, the city was systematically demolished and plundered. In the post-uprising period, as a result of systematic and planned demolition, more than 30% of the buildings on the left bank of Warsaw were destroyed, i.e. more than were destroyed during the two months of the uprising. When we add to this the losses incurred in August and September 1944 and the destruction that occurred as a result of the siege of the city in September 1939 and the destruction of the Warsaw Ghetto, it turns out that the war resulted in the destruction of 84% of the buildings on the left bank of Warsaw. If we assume the estimate for the entire city, including Prague, it was 65%. The approximate amount of rubble covering Warsaw in 1945 was estimated at 20 million cubic meters. In more detail, the state of damage was as follows: bridges - 100%; volume of industrial buildings - 90%; historic buildings (including churches) - 90%; volume of cultural objects - 95%; cubic capacity of health care facilities - 90%; cubic capacity of educational facilities - 70%; residential rooms - 72.1%. 50% of the buildings and equipment of the power plant were also destroyed; 65% of the length of the municipal electricity network; 46% of the total value of gasworks and gas network facilities; 100% of telephone exchanges; 70% of the telephone cable network; 30% of the total value of water supply facilities; 28.5% of the total value of sewage facilities; 30% of the street area; 85% of the length of the tram network; 91% of the volume of tram and bus depots; 75% of tram rolling stock units; 98.5% of street lamps; 60% of trees in parks; 60% of the value of the zoo; 95% of railway junction facilities within the city limits; 100% of railway stations, 100% of passenger aviation devices and equipment; 85% of the river fleet .
Demolished and depopulated Warsaw, seen in the spring of 1945 from a bird's eye view, is shown in the Polish short animated film entitled "City of Ruins".
Russian troops entered Warsaw only on January 17, 1945. And they had a parade

My deepest respect for the Polish underground. The Russians decision to wait it out was an atrocity that in my meaning served the only purpose to take over Polish territory.
You must know by now how much WE appreciate you, and I can tell you right now, that you having backdrop or not means nothing to me. Its the content and how we comes together and talks

I did the change more for me as having the dark room behind me was sometimes distracting so putting the greenscreen back up helped keep my focus and not worrying about what is behind me did I forget a cup...yeah I worry about little stuff like that lol.

A bit of trivia related to this - every year, on 1st day of August, precisely at 5 pm (the "W" Hour), Warsaw remembers the Uprising. Blaring sirens and tolling church bells can be heard throughout the city for exactly 1 minute and everyone knows what's that about. There are also places where the city stops for that minute, like Roman Dmowski's Roundabout in the city's Center (one of the busiest parts of the city).
If you want to see how it looks, just search for "There is a city", "Godzina W" (if you want to see the newest add "1 sierpnia 2022") or "Thank you Warsaw".

Only this one story is enough to understand what Poles have experienced over the years and why Poland is now helping Ukraine in every possible way. And why we never fully trusted Russia and it wasn't Russophobia, it was just stating a fact that was obvious to us.

I mean your not alone most of Eastern Europe is acting the exact same way like Finland and the Baltic states since they have had the exact same problems with Russia in the past. Very understandable and even my country Sweden while not being as militarised as we once were are also sending weapons and aid.
We can’t let Russia do it’s classic annexation hobby one more time I say.

I can’t be bothered writing a similar comment so I’ll post a comment I have made on this topic on another reaction video.
The sad part and very unlucky is that the poles literally had to wait for the Wehrmacht to be fully occupied with the Soviets so they couldn’t reallocate any Wehrmacht divisions to put down the Uprising. All this only for the Poles to instead have to face SS divisions instead of Wehrmacht divisions that immediately start destroying the city with no regard for anything. Because the SS were basically just a worse version of the Wehrmacht (Wehrmacht was bad and would have been shit to face too but it usually was a bit more disciplined and less chaotic than the SS) that was more nazified. They mentioned that the Germans even sent Russian SS Division to crush the uprising (these are anti communist Russians usually but there were not many that willingly joined the Germans. I actually thought that the Russian SS division was annihilated earlier and didn’t know it was still intact at this point, they also sent the SS Dirlewanger division there that was a SS division built up of only criminals whose leader was an actual child rapist not joking look it up.
So this uprising completely backfired for the Poles sadly since it resulted in the destruction of Warsaw.
    Dirlewanger brigade en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirlewanger_Brigade
And in the end they get betrayed by the Soviet’s so really was a lose lose situation.

I always appreciate your comments Melkor! TY! It was a lose lose situation and sucks. I am learning so much that just breaks my heart and people take shit for granted these days.

Hmm, what was the point in destoying the cities and buildings at that time....
Maybe the same, what US been doing during in its "seek and destroy" - pointless tactics - during the Vietnam War? just wondering, you know, don't get me wrongh! I'm a Pole i like US, I'm Pro-US! But the whole story colllides - to myself - your narration, unless you're anti-vietnam-war-dude, which would again collide with my point of wiev, cos Americans started the war in Vietnam (simplufying it - cos I do know - the French started it actually, the Americans just wanted to train Vietnamese, etc.) and everthing happpend, cos, to stop the communism spreading around the world. They (Americans) were quite succesed in Korea, but couldn't make it in Vietnam - ok. But still! Who can stop evil on this planet?! Liechtenstein? San Marino, Vatican? No!
US, which actually was against the evil forces since... ever? Or... USSR - who was the EVI?
Thats complex. You know thats rise over the ... common human being's point of view.
Thats a pure cruelty, poitless murders, complex extermination things! It is just blowing my mind, but it still exists!
Shit, I'm drunk byt I hope you've got my point of view! :D
Shit, i Bet, the next day, during my hangover, I'll have a minfuck what did I just said here a few hours ago - forgive me, I'm just a human. The only reason why i won't delete this comment right now is i hope it makes some sense anyway!
    UGH!
