Tragically after the Warsaw uprising the Nazis literally tried to wipe Warsaw off the map. Something like 80% of the entire city was razed to its foundations including the 400 year old palace. Few countries in the war suffered half as much as Poland. And god love this Polish for those that survived fought like demons throughout the war

I really recommend watching/reacting to the Sabaton History for each of the Sabaton songs you react to as well. It's an official channel from Sabaton where a historian talks about the event the song is about. It really helps a lot understanding the history behind each song and it makes the songs a lot better in my experience.

This uprising had a better chance of success if the Red Army helped. than the Jewish uprising in the Warsaw ghetto in 1943, they were also alone with far fewer weapons. Unfortunately in 1944 the Soviets sat on their asses in front of Warsaw and waited.
I mean.. why would they help? Why would they help them take the city and let the exiled polish government return? This way they could install a communist government and turn poland into a puppet state. Which is exactly what this uprising wanted to prevent.
